  1. Indeed - it did seem as if there is an arbitrary cap on the number of players each zome will hold, but not a cap per side - quite an obvious oversight if it was the case.

Also while I personally think the 'event' was actually a usefuls stress-test and not much more, I don't think I would participate in another. It was all totally random, with heroes and villains everywhere, just mindlessly zerging. It was like the old days of DAOC revisited.

As a MM I was worried I was going to be utterly pwned, as I have read various pieces advising that we are a bit too squishy for PvP, but I have to say my pets reaped a healthy toll on the enemy, probably because people wanted to focus on actual enemy players and so ignored my pets. Which spanked them.

Oh, and semi-congratulations to the game itself - last night was the first time my PC has struggled since I built it - my FX-53 and 2x6800GT's were straining to the limit to keep any kind of frame-rate.
  2. Nice one guys - will have a chat to you when I get home tonight (like all right-minded people work is useful for forum commitments )

Jamus, I have no problem with voice-comms, and will use the forums more once I am involved with a SG that makes such usage worthwhile - currently I may as well be solo for all I get from the SG - no teams, no atmosphere, no sense of humour.

    Thx for the responses!
  3. OK, here goes.

I have played in an established Guild on DAOC, which migrated to WoW. I have been with this group for years - we all enjoy the social aspect of the game, with an emphasis on having fun and grouping together whenever necessary. Hardly a huge achievement you would think, until it comes to getting on-board with a SG in CoH/CoV. Now I am sure they are out there, but there are so many different SG's that finding a decent one is nigh-on impossible.

So then, here is a bit about me.

My character is named Black Dojo, a villainous lvl 26 Mutation/Dark Miasma Mastermind. In real life, I am a 35 year old gamer who has been playing for years (since the age of 7 in fact). As I menationed above, I have been with the same guild in DAOC/WoW, playing from member level through officer and currently joint GM. I am a friendly and polite player, play regularly, and want to find a supergroup that wants such players.

A group that would interest me would have sufficient players in the 25-30 category to allow for regular groups and a fun atmosphere within the group. Surely that is not asking too much!

If you have any interest in helping me end this quest, and gain the huge boost in enjoyment that finding a good SG/Guild /whatever within a MMO that is entailed, please either drop me a mail in-game or a reply here.

    Cheers for your time!

    PvP Complainers

Ah, the joys of PvP introduction. When this first started on WoW (the renowned 'Honour' system) the boards filled with complaints.

The problem that the devs need to address, as they have done to a great degree now on WoW, is giving those players who want pure PvP somewhere to engage in it that will attract all the PvP players to the same place. Opening PvP areas allows for a lot of griefing play, that can cause a great deal of bad feeling between players, especially those who did not really sign up to play the game PvP. Personally I am looking forward to it, and I guarantee that PvP in CoH/CoV will be far less irritating that Warcraft (i.e. no means of corpse-camping players). Expect a whole lot of complaints though.
