I'm tired of all these people who want to make themselves yet another easy button. Hey, when I start up a new character, I don't go dumping all my extra funds from one character to another character. Guess what? I still have fun playing the game. It adds an extra layer of challenge having to manage funds and decide what to buy first.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a joke, right? That there's an "extra layer of challenge" to figuring out that you buy accuracies and end reductions first? It's micromanaging personal finance, and I don't need a game to practice that, and I don't need someone telling me it's fun when it isn't.
[ QUOTE ]
I can play in supergroup mode all the way to 50 and make all my funds by selling to the right stores.
[/ QUOTE ]
/em shrugs
For some folks, it's a quality of life issue. For some folks -- clearly not you -- the game is more fun if they don't have to micromanage their funds.
[ QUOTE ]
Now what is with this attitude where everyone thinks they are entitled to just cruise on through the game because they are too lazy to play through a second time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because name-calling really helps you make your point, I can see.
[ QUOTE ]
Just becuase you earned extra funds on one character doesn't mean that they belong on any of your other characters. We're all part of the human race, but that doesn't mean that because one person earns something that everyone else is entitled to it if they never worked for it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Huh? Nobody is advocating that we distribute the mass inf in the economy to everyone and make everyone's game easier. That's just bizarre. If you want an analogy, it's not the whole human race we're talking about distributing to -- it's our family. I don't know about you, but if I struck it rich in the lottery, I'd share the money with my family. I wouldn't say, "Well, I know that you're still struggling to make ends meet, but it's important that everyone work through that on their own." I'd share the wealth. Different characters on the same account are much closer to "sharing with family" than the odd MMO version of socialism you seem to have set up as a straw man.

Yes, yes. Personamorpher's gone and lost his cool again. Lets all gather round and laugh at the poor fool now shall we? I got into a very heated arguement over this topic over Vent and being the sole person sharing my point of view I was thoroughly curbstomped. Right or wrong didn't seem to matter because I was clearly outnumbered. Quite angry and frustrated by this I left Vent and the game and came right here to vent my frustration. Good move? The farthest thing from it. As for the topic at hand, I don't see how making influence and infamy trasfer as easy as people are asking for is going to make the game better. From what I understand of game design and human psychology I would think that it would undermine the longevity of the game. Now that I've yet again blundered my way into the forums and had to explain my behavior, not because I care what people think but because I don't like being misunderstood, you may resume your tarring and feathering. -

Player A1 puts up a Level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Player B1 puts up the same Level 12 TO for 1,000 inf.
Player A2 (trying to transfer funds) offers to buy that level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Since player B1 wants less, and is obviously trying to move his items faster, his "for sale" is processed first, so he ends up with 5,000,000 inf (minus fees).

since my original post violated forum rules, and was removed, I will post again, in a nicer way.
You sir, are a fool.
This was one of the dumbest ideas Cryptic or NCSoft has ever come up with.
I hope it backfires upon you and I also hope you sleep well at night knowing you screwed the playerbase.

I think the system is fine as is and don't go painting the developers as stupid just because you are too caught up in the rush to nothing that you'd rather make big numbers than actually enjoy the ride. Ever stop to smell the roses? Or are you too glued to your couch to go outside and enjoy the fresh air? -
Missed a few possible team ups lately it seems. I've been trying to catch my Guardian villain up in levels to the rest of the supergroup for Tuesday's team nights. Maybe tomorrow I'll get some more time in with the art crew.
-
No popularity contests for me. I'm not signing up for this kind of thing again. Next time I'll just save my pennies and do my own thing.
-
So... did I do it right then?
Edit - What am I still doing up? And this late too? I knew I should have just gone to bed and skipped the forums until tomorrow! I take far too long reading the forums. -

Remember everyone, keep in touch with the Paragon One channel!
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a problem with this channel: the fact that it is a two words name channel prevent it to be bound to a key (/bind Numpad0 "beginchat /send Paragon One: " will always return an error message: "You are not a member of the global channel "Paragon"
So, if you want to speak in that channel, you have to leave your chat on this one.
[/ QUOTE ]
The bind that would work would be /bind numpad0 "beginchat /send "Paragon One"" I believe. Try it and see. I always thought that the quotes around the channel name were standard. -
My +watch list grows stronger and stronger still. One day my +watch list will be able to conquer the world!

I could get a copy printed at Staples and send it too you for $$$ while pretending it was an original print!
Oh, wait. Did I say that out loud?

Still would be hard to convince me to roll another /eng version of my characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I could have rerolled another version of my Personamorpher from over on Virtue, but I decided to just play with the Personamorphess I already had there. You could create a new character, or a new concept for an old character. Noone here is forcing you to play a character that you won't enjoy playing. At least I hope not. The character you choose to create and play is all up to you. You could create something new and inspiring and they might end up being your next commission and forum fave. You never know, right? -
Remember everyone, keep in touch with the Paragon One channel!
Also, any ideas for the supergroup name and such? Playing today there was a discussion of the colors being white and black (as in white paper and black ink). Not that we'll ever use them. Anyway, what names might you suggest?
The Dreamweavers of Paragon is one I thought of. I'll probably think of others. I've already thought of a dozen or so and tossed them out as being unsuitable. Anyway, I just thought it would be a good idea to get some general consensus on this before anyone jumps in. -
Speaking of edits, might as well pull my entries from the contest.
-
At this point I might as well pull all my entries, seeing the total lack of interest.

Heh, sorry about the lurid thread title.
Anyway, I teased a while back that I had been working on a huge CoH project and would post it soon... well, here it is!
The Guruverse
It's the finished lineart for the so called Guruverse poster. The Guruverse (as we decided to call it at some point) is a huge joint project of the CoHGuru.com player community where all community members were able to get in their own or others' City of Heroes/Villains characters. The final count is 110 characters, although I was hoping to put in some more... Some of them you'll know from this community, from the CoH comics, the pre-beta forum or just Virtue (where most of them play).
The one and only Veikira is working on the colors for this baby as we speak, which makes me incredibly proud (having him color it, I mean ). I am very much looking forward to see it finished and will upload it to my page RP Visions then.
Hope you all enjoy it!
[/ QUOTE ]
Could you PM me with the price for how much something like this would cost? I have about 117 or so characters (and always more coming) and it would be interesting to see all of them in one picture. I'd want to know how long I'll have to be saving up for (if I could even afford it anytime soon). -

Good grief, we're just getting going to go out for a movie and dinner and other fun stuff.
Or did you stay up all night?

Odd work hours if I remember. -
Happy birthday!
Odd that you didn't mention that your birthday was coming up as we chatted the other day. Regardless, enjoy the dayto its fullest! -
Dang. I'll probably be attending a Hamidon raid then.
