  1. You may have noticed that we recently launched our all new Twitch.TV channel. We're extremely excited at the opportunities this new venue offers us, including one that may interest all of you; Live web-streaming, showcasing your Super Group and Villain Group bases for all to see!

In the past City of Heroes: Freedom has had base spotlights, forum features and write-ups on some of the amazing works of art done with our base editor. This evolution in Community involvement is just a taste of things to come for letting our varied communities interact.

We do plan on making this a regular feature (bi-monthly most likely) and we'll be sure to post at least a few days prior to each broadcast!

To be considered, please leave a response in this thread.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing some of your awesome base creations!

I heard a cursory answer back from Twitch indicating that it might be a Flash related issue. Nothing more as of yet.

If you want to find something you have to look on your website, and the forums, and facebook, and twitter. Now add Twitch.Tv and youtube. Damn this is just stupid. 1 site all info. Your site, your control, your game, your players. Get the picture. I for one am not hopping all around to find your stuff. No thanks.
I do understand wanting it all in one place, and we do our level best to make sure that we reference all of our Community outlets from cityofheroes.com, however we're not going to be shying away from exploring new Social Media outlets anytime soon, especially ones that offer exposure to a huge gamer audience.

Remember that we need to continue to draw new faces to COH, and that requires bringing the mountain to Mohammed sometimes.

    This is correct.

There's science to be done and experiments to run.

Never fear though, for it is entirely likely that Freebie Friday will return Soon™.

He'd set up inside a keep* (usually around a blind corner) and absolutely slaughter any attackers. Caught within PBAoE range of 7 spellcasters, nothing (player-wise) survived more than 2 seconds.
Team Wizzy was a site to behold.

Yup! I'm a long time Robert Asprin fan, I especially loved the Killing Time/Time Scout series.
  11. Why use it to stream Tweets with the #cityofheroes hashtag of course!

I'm probably not the normal viewer - I watch these on the iPad so I can send them to my TV with AppleTV and AirPlay (you look good on the big screen, Z).
The first time I saw myself on the big screen (aka; a theater screen) I cringed...a lot.

Not sure if you're a Mac user or not, but with Mountain Lion hitting next month, you'll be able to AirPlay from a MacBook if you like. So you could use your bigscreen as an extended desktop and have the chat client open in your laptop display. It's enough that it's making me consider actually investing in an Apple TV.

  14. I've forwarded the PM's I've received over to Hit Streak. He's going to verify the emails and most likely will just PM them to you here on the boards as soon as he gets a spare moment.
  15. Not that it needs to be said here, but it needs to be said...

    Let's keep our meme's SFW everyone .

  16. We are aware of this issue and it's slated to be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Thanks for the heads up nonetheless.

If you have details on the BSoD's, I'll forward them along to Twitch myself.

Please feel free to send a PM with the usual requested information (system specs, error messages, etc)

The gametime codes were sent to your email as of last week. If you were one of the top three, you should have already received both (we don't apply the code ourselves, we send it to you).

Please check your spam filters, also, you may want to PM me the email address you provided and what character you were on so we can check it against our records.
  20. We're going to make an official post about the contest winners next week.

With some *stuff* that's we've been working on (hopefully you'll get to see that next week), our time has been pretty stretched lately .

Eh, not really. Most people who work in game development studios have machines that are capable of running the game they work on and whatever software they need to run. We're not all running around with top of the line Falcon Northwest machines here.

This means that artists usually have the beefiest machines, then coders, then everyone else, with the exceptions for things like multimedia.

I think they give producers a notepad and a box of pens.
  22. Result: It looks like we had a brief window where the item went live with incorrect pricing. This was only live for around 10-15 minutes, however it appears that a few of you may have been affected by it.

If you were erroneously charged 80 points for the item, please be sure to file a Customer Service appeal and they'll perform a short investigation to verify the charge and refund appropriately.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone and reassure everyone that the issue was quickly noticed and fixed. I double checked this myself by purchasing the item on my personal account.

We'd likely have something fixed before a GMOTD could be put up (GMOTD's take around 30-45 minutes each to get published to live. We QA each one of them.

Just went to claim the freebie, but when you get to the checkout screen its trying to charge 80 points for it.
Just to be 100% clear, how did you go about trying to claim the item? Was it directly from the Featured Items tab or did you navigate to the item manually?
  25. Guys, we're checking into this. Until then, hold off on purchasing it.
