Power Push is the new hotness.

[/ QUOTE ]All I ask of control is reliability. Power Push got to be the reliable control. Seems that they decided to also make it great damage. I'm hard-pressed to complain.

I can't imagine why the devs wouldn't want to communicate more with us as a community.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? I can think of a few reasons.

[/ QUOTE ]It's the plaid and brown, isn't it? I know I should have dressed less conservatively. D:

Or get rid of rent altogether. >_>

[/ QUOTE ]It's not onerous and it encourages people to pay attention to the passage of time in their SG.

That's a problem with the player base.
5 years in and people still don't understand the basic roles that ATs fulfill.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes. The problem is, everyone who plays this game except for you and your chosen few is in fact just stupid, and needs to suffer for you to continue having what you want, since you're such a valuable contribution of a minority.

I don't see you on test when I do a search.

[/ QUOTE ]Wait, you're looking for him? Just to prove a point? Isn't that a little creepy?

Also, those of us with multiple permadoms can start trying other, potentially interesting things with their characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Like what? Tear into regular missions? Farms? AE Non-Farm Mishes? Strikeforces? Been there, done that

[/ QUOTE ]I mean like soft-capping defences on dominators. I mean like building for damage buffs or massed hit points. I mean doing anything other than chasing recharge.
  8. My build is an SO build. I used a very similar build, without tough, in hazard zones and not only survived, but thrived. Believe it or not, characters can survive in this game without IOs.
  9. Also, those of us with multiple permadoms can start trying other, potentially interesting things with their characters.
  10. I chose the slotting I did because I was aiming for simplicity - the simple maxim of 1 acc, 1 end redux, 3 damage. I've never found any of the toggles particularly costly in endurance - all the end redux I've wanted has been needed in attacks.

Surely not because those versions are OP if Blasters still get them.

[/ QUOTE ]Oh, what pish. Blasters are a whole different archetype composed of different powersets with different stats and inherents. That another AT gets a different version of a power does not justify that version being given to a different AT.
  12. I'm really fond of the power but I can understand the desire for it to be different.
  13. The highest of your defences that can apply.
  14. It's entirely possible that your connection to the update server is bad. I know mine is.
  15. Okay. This is a really, really basic run through the build and powersets that you presented, and how I'd socket it up/change things with SOs. While I don't think this is the best way to do it, it should be nice and consistant. You can buy the SOs at the Vanguard base, which you can access through Atlas Park, Founder's Falls or Peregrine Island, okay?

There are probably going to be other people posting even better builds. But if you're not certain about IOs yet, this is a good place to start.
  16. So, I was figuring I15 wouldn't have the changes in it, so I didn't bother downloading test. Instead, I geared up - a L5 dom, a level 40 dom and a level 50 dom IO'd out the buggery. And now I am staring at this situation and seeing that Test on my connection will take a mere 11 hours.

    WHEEE.

    Loss of a hero

It's always sad to see the passage of a person from the state of 'here' to 'not here' and there's nothing that can so thoroughly represent 'not here' as death. What good we can see of a person is in what they leave behind - in this case, at least a son, a legacy, and creative works in which we can see the creator reflected.

I hope many people run his arcs and hope that he will be remembered fondly by those who know him best.
  18. A 'solution' predicates a 'problem.' You insisting on taking a power you don't want to have then whining like a child when it's the wrong colour is not actually a problem with the game.

Also, power customization. Please, do some research before you bring up tired old complaints.
  19. I've 'solo'd AVs' but not in a provable way.

With a DO'd out thugs/dark mastermind, fresh out of I7, I accidentally solo'd Silver Mantis. I say accidentally because I didn't realise she was an AV until she was dead. I was pretty inexperienced at the time, I just handed out candy to my boys and resummoned them when various boys died. That was the whole of it - I remembered it was bloody tedious too, but once I reached a point where twilight grasp hit consistantly and her attacks didn't, it was just a matter of waiting it out. I have no real idea on how long it took me.

Much more recently, with a night widow on an ITF, jumped and pulled Requiem, expecting to melee him before Romulus. By the time Req was half dead, I realised that I hadn't been buffed for some time, and that it was because the group were about a hundred yards away beating the face in of Romulus. They hadn't noticed me and I hadn't noticed them not noticing me.

That's pretty much the extent of it, though? And these two experiences are such aberrations I can't even remember the precis of it. What I can remember is that in both cases, it was long, tedious and in the end, nobody was impressed.

I'm suggesting the way mezzing works in this game needs to be looked at.

[/ QUOTE ]Certainly for big hard targets. I've seen a lot of suggestions for mez as they apply to big hard targets that can be useful without necessarily needing the whole mechanic to be dragged all the way across all other targets. Maybe when the classes are closer to par, we'll have a good chance to get an idea of what's wrong.

Part of the problem is that some controllers can solo AVs. So can some Doms. That makes it kinda hard to say that their mez protection is over the top.
  21. I can copy my purpled out scrapper to test.

    Respec him 5 times

hand the purples to my warshade on test

    Purple out my warshade

    copy him to live

and hey look, they're finally supporting the casual player

Sorry, but Targeting Drone dosen't fit Weapon Mastery.

    [/ QUOTE ]Then skip it.
  23. What I think is really awesome about it is that I did it without lousing up my build with powers I dislike. I don't have it on this computer, but the closest to a 'dud' power that comes up is Maneuvers. All the goodies in Mind mastery and nuking with Rain of Arrows every eighteen seconds. Throw in a self heal and Regen aura and it's really funny to think of him as 'squishy.'

doms are still in the lowest ranks in terms of damage, right

    [/ QUOTE ]No.
