Here is my entry. It is Dark Ether in Vanguard outfit. I originally had a very elaborate idea for the background, where a Crey experiment went wrong and turned him into a zombie. I just didn't have enough time, so I had to settle for a simple background. I tried to add some blood, but I couldn't figure out how to make it look realistic in this lighting....so this is Dark Ether on his way to find his first victim!

I love the way you rendered the metal! -
*whew* Okay, I made it with a couple hours to spare!

Miss Liberty and an unfortunate Skull Minion
I did give it a mature tag for "gore and violence" - just in case. -
Wow - those are all really great! I especially like Toxic_Shia's - so much packed into such a small space!
- mine's coming, soon - still coloring! (I know, I promised I wouldn't be so last minute again!) -

I'm gonna vote for Aprosaath. I almost had nightmares on this one.

Alot of very cool choices there but ... I like the creepiness of Aprosaath's piece

Did I forget to say "Thank you" ??
I did, didn't I?
sorry about that, chief!
aaaaaand: "Thank you!" and "Thank you!" -

Oh my God... that is EXACTLY like those old ads (well, save for the swearing and groin shots). I actually have some comics from that era, with a WONDERFUL ad for Hostess Fruit Pies. Long story short... "The Joker doesn't like Hostess Fruit Pies? Man, now I KNOW he's crazy!!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah - take a look at this page: Collected Hostess Ads -
So, like the whole "Marvel Zombies" thing, eh?
Question regarding the end-cutoff: You say "due no later than March 24th"
Does that mean 12 o'clock midnight of the 24th, before it turns into the 24th?
And is that Pacific time, Mountain time, Central, Eastern?
(not trying to give you a hard time, just want to be clear - and no, I don't plan to wait till the last minute ) -
[ QUOTE ]
And the winner is.....
Imagesbyalex with his version of Baby Babs.
This means as long as he submits a piece for March he can't be eliminated.
Gratz Alex!
The March theme will be posted on a seperate thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
Congratulations Alex!
(can hardly wait for the next subject!) -
its sort of redundant for me to say "this is tough!" - but it is.
Every entry has its own unique charm, and I'm not going to vote for myself - so I'm going to cast my vote for: Projectionist
For some reason, it just jumps out at me - and I'm really liking the props & texture. -

I'm talking the main page fan art section.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, you're talking about this page:
Fan Art Section ?
and you submitted it via the contact person listed on this page:
Fan Submissions guidelines ?
(cohsubmissions@plaync.com)
(I don't know how long it takes submissions to appear there - but I thought a bit of clarification was in order) -

Hey guys, appreciate the comments! If anyone is interested in trying out digital watercolor in Painter, I found a really nice set of custom brushes here. I bought a book on traditional watercolor this week, and it wasn't until I found these brushes that I really started making progress, although there are some effects I can't replicate very well yet.
I am still too intimidated by traditional watercolor to try it, but it would be funny to pick it up later and try to relearn the things I am learning in Painter now...

looks like I'm going to have to re-install my copy of Painter! -
*whew* thanks!
I'd hate to have blown it by missing the very first round!
(I'm so rusty. Prepare to see growing pains over the next year.) -
Aaaaaaa! Did I miss out? I JUST got mine posted on deviant Art

I was thinking younger then that
[/ QUOTE ]
is there an age or age range you're specifically thinking of, then?
I know I was thinking "baby" almost no older than the ability to sit up by themselves. I did a quick search for definitions of "infant" and got this:
[ QUOTE ]
Infant \In"fant\, n. [L. infans; pref. in- not + fari to speak: cf. F. enfant, whence OE. enfaunt. See Fame, and cf. Infante, Infanta.]
1. A child in the first period of life, beginning at his birth; a young babe; sometimes, a child several years of age.
And tender cries of infants pierce the ear. --C. Pitt.
2. (Law) A person who is not of full age, or who has not attained the age of legal capacity; a person under the age of twenty-one years; a minor.
Note: An infant under seven years of age is not penally responsible; between seven and fourteen years of age, he may be convicted of a malicious offense if malice be proved. He becomes of age on the day preceding his twenty-first birthday, previous to which time an infant has no capacity to contract.
3. Same as Infante. [Obs.]
--Spenser.
