Ergh, I really want to do this, but I don't think I can commit to the time. I put my commissions ahead of non-paying things and I have a personal series that I'm just starting the sketches on that I can't WAIT to start revealing. Plus, come August I want to increase my class load.

I checked back to page 40 and did not find it, and of course the search option didn't help. Do people sign up each month, or do they sign up at the beginning of the year and keep getting eliminated till there is only one left?

What i am hoping to do is have different themes from last year but i did the same search trying to ensure that and found nothing as well.
During February i am having everybody that wants in during the year to sign up and then yes, every month there will be eliminations until we have the FArt champion for 2009. The way to be signed up and solidify your spot is to submit a piece.

FanArt Wars
FArt Wars continues all be it a little late. If you guys remember this from last year then you'll know what it's all about.
1. Prior to each month, people sign up for the battle. Im guessing well have anywhere between 10-30 people. This is a fairly big commitment, because for those who succeed, it can mean a years worth of fighting.
2. At the start of each month, a topic will be given out. Call it a theme if you like, but itll be the focus of that month. All competitors will create a piece of art that best personifies that theme.
3. The piece of art can take nearly any medium. You can use a screenie, video, 3D, drawing, or even claymation. The only things that are required are A) Originality-dont just copy an idea or image, B) Creativity-how much effort was put into the piece, and C) Effectiveness- did the piece succeed in capturing the theme.
4. All pieces must be submitted via links (there will be a thread called FArt Wars Feb Contest for example), where people can discuss pieces and provide links to theirs. All pieces MUST be submitted by the 25th of each respective month.
5. Voting will start soon after. Each month will have a different type of elimination strategy (sometimes coinciding with the theme). But know that submitting nothing will earn you a ticket out of the competition. Those remaining will go on to the next month.
6. By December we will be down to a very few, and the last one standing will forever (or at least for a year) be called the FArt Champion of CoX!!!
This is the place to discuss this competition and to sign up for it. If you want to sign up for it, simply do this
