regardless of the posts and other conversations, it was never an "official" part of GR (ie website announcement) and although it is sad that its taken out and that so many of you are so mad about it, i bet posi and his team are working as hard as they can on it already. it would have been much better if they just said it was coming and they were actively working on it and not pinned even a preview to GR.

The difference is that it wasn't even what the thread was about and it just started this huge discussion about the "state of the game" through the eyes of one player that thinks it's not Super Hero enough... Sure there are others that share your enthusiasm J_B, but sadly a lot of people like things like bunny tails, and a lot of other "un-superhero" related items.
The big thing here, that I believe Dec already talked about or someone else, is that this game is VERY diverse! You can make your Superman type character with SS and Invuln and powers like that, or you can go the Batman route where he's got some kick butt MA, and you could get the Bank mish temp powers for the nice "utility belt" effect or any number of crafted powers. Or you could go more the fantasy route and do an elf, werewolf, undead monster, etc... One of the biggest draws to this game for me is that it's so diverse!
I never got in to any games like WoW because it's not diverse.... Plus you make a character on there, then there is practically NO customization options to make them look hardly different than any other character of the same race. Once you get tired of the whole "Fantasy" game aspect that's it... There is nothing else.
Is every power in this game "Super"? Well it depends on how you play your character. Batman isn't as much a superhero at alll. He's a martial arts master with some awesome gadgets which ultimately make him "Super". This game is much more than a "Superhero MMO" it's more driven by different comic book characters that use, pistols, swords, energy powers, maces, body shifting(rock armor... etc.), Super strength, Bow and Arrows, etc.
I think everyone should be happy the game is this diverse, but this is just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own.

Well, mainly because if the wings and rocket boots gave you powers without having actually taking the powers would mean that actually having Super Jump or Fly would be a waste of a slot when you could just wear wings or boots. It's already been established that costume pieces will never give you powers in this game. If you want that instead of the current (permanent) system, go play Champions Online. If not, and this was merely an innocent question, there you go, enjoy the game. To go back to the menu, press the pound key.

For my limited knowledge of the "true" meaning of irony this doesn't seem to be it. If something like this was irony then 80% of all situations involving humans would be irony. Why is the event not ironic? Because it is not contrary to what you expected. Unless you were sitting there thinking, "I really hope a fly doesn't land in my drink." then one does, that is ironic, but otherwise it is not. There is more into something being ironic than an event happening that you didn't like or expect.
OK now the wedding day... Not ironic technically because it is not contrary to the belief that a wedding is the best day ever. For this to be contrary it would have to be the worst day ever because contrary is the opposite. I doubt that rain on someone's wedding day would make it the worst day in someone's life, if so maybe they should rethink how much they really love the person they are marrying.
Don't read too much into irony or you can't have fun with it.

All DCUO has to have is 4 zones, a few costumes, 4 powersets, lvl 1-20 content and it will already be pretty much neck and neck with GR.
