Wait - its not quite done yet - there's still the matter of the 5-way tie for "lowest amount of votes" !!!
[ QUOTE ]
There will be an elimination this month! The artist with the lowest amount of votes will be eliminated. In case of a tie, we will have a vote off between those who are tied!
[/ QUOTE ] -
hmmm - it looks like we're going to have a five-way tie for last place with zero votes.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I didn't know anyone could vote! In that case, I vote for Lousy Day. Not only was his idea of stained glass crazy original, but his execution was amazing as well!
Great job LD!

Spread the word! Far and Wide! ANYbody can vote! Only two more days to left to vote - get all your friends! Vote! -
a series of figures dancing - multiple poses. importance placed on the characters interacting with one another as part of the dance. As you get warmed up, the dance becomes more wild. Perhaps other join it.
See "Dancing with the stars" and various belly-dancing, maybe ballet.
eventually this can lead to the "wire-dancing" Kung-Fu & sword fights of the movies. -
we need to get the word out there to the rest of the other forums that anybody can come in here and vote!
'course, everybody's probably off in game somewhere, getting their 5th anniversary badge and building mission architect story arcs and too busy to use the forum anyway! -

I just resubscribed to CoH, and rather than roll another scraper that I'll probably drop in the 20s or a defender even sooner, thought I'd try a controller. Provided they fit my playstyle.
I am a casual solo player, have to go afk a lot and don't like to inconvenience other players. Looking for a an at/set that can solo from 1 to 50. Was wondering which sets work well for solo play. I'm currently looking at plant/storm, any one have experience with that combo as a solo player?
[/ QUOTE ]
I tend to solo, mostly - too. But I don't have anywhere near a lvl 50 yet.
I have used Plant/Thermal several times (I like the Thermal for the healing) - and I've used Ice/Thermal on one, and Grav/Thermal on another. Each has something amusing to watch - beit the vines growing on the bad guys, or the ice-cubing them, or simply throwing them up in the air. -
This is TOUGH!
I looked at all of them, over and over and over - It really came down to three (Projectionist, Juggertha, and Lousy_Day). back and forth, back and forth. It was just so difficult to choose.
But in the end, for having "the entire package" - I decided to go with:
Juggertha -
Hey - I was wondering: did anyone ever collect all the entries from LAST year's (2008) Fan Art Wars contest?
I mean, not just the final two - but the whole breakdown from full list at beginning, then each month as it slowly pares down to the final two?
I'd like to see that. I only saw some of them. -
TrickyTacky - very nice![ QUOTE ]
Birds of a feather.... don't always flock together

Lousy_Day - my jaw drops. Amazing! Simply Amazing! [ QUOTE ]

I've got my eyes on you

Not that any of this matters after Lousy_Day's entry..

Look, let's just skip the voting and give it to the stained glass and save us all some time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey - the rest of us still get to fight over the scraps and left-overs! -

Here's my WIP for the contest (hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow, basicly have the lines and color flats down);

For my versus thing I have chosen a more subtle form of combat between two masters of their respective fields, the great master of plotting and traps himself, and the lesser known mistress of unlocked doors and foiled fates! Who will out plot who?!

HA! That's Azuria, all right! Good one! -
I'm here! I made it! I made it! Here's my submission:
Serge Vs. Gorgeous Glenda
Serge seems unconcerned as Gorgeous Glenda threatens to give him a new look!
(no excuses from me!) I tried to try going a little more cartoony this time. -
whoof! For a couple of minutes there, I thought the powers-that-be had decided to just eliminate entire sections of the forum!
So, its just a temporary problem-thats-being-worked-on? Cool. -

Over on the EU forums there is an art thread called City of Cute (where my Avatar came from) with Psygon doing requests that turn you City of Heroes or Villains characters into an avatar of cuteness.
There is a website now dedicated to City of Cute with request forms and contact info for Psygon, this is all completely free of course but there's already a long waiting list thanks to the EU forums getting in there first.
click the link to be made cute(er).

Those are pretty cute! -

I think this thread keeps getting churned up because people really, really need a place to vent. Also, it can be informative for those considering to hire MMOArt, or any other artist around here, really.
Which I find totally understandable.
Sadly, I cannot offer any good advice to those who have a situation with MMOArt, other than what's already been said.
[/ QUOTE ]
I also think there's something very valuable to be learned from this - for any artist who might be considering doing commissions themselves. -

Here's mine
Mako vs Statesman
[/ QUOTE ]
Very nice! I Like how you've used the focus/unfocus on this one.
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, I am submitting this 21 Days Early before Everyone Else this time.
~waits for everyone to stop gasping~
And, granted I did manifest this one fairly quickly, its not like the other ones. This one actually has quality.
~pauses for more audience gasping~
"Sister Psyche Versus Ghost Widow"
Slash
"Foreshadow & Spark Blade Versus Ghost Widow"
Slash
"Foreshadow Versus Spark Blade"
I'm betting no one really saw Spark Blade coming With Description to Explain the "Versus/Slash"
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice! You've both set the bar - not only for quality, but for speed!
[ QUOTE ]
Edit: Who am I kidding, I'm just gunnin' for a VOTE this time around
[/ QUOTE ]
Me, too! -
read through some of this thread.
I gotta say: there are definitely some lessons to be learned here. -
What are some of the Super-villains that show up in the bank robbery missions (that beat the snot out of first time bank-mission-er heroes)? Maybe one of them?

April Challenge: 'VS'
Overview: Take any NPC's, signature heroes or villains, enemies, contacts or whoever from either game and pit them against each other. This could be something as simple as David Wincott vs Matthew Burke or as complex or epic as Statesman vs Lord Recluse. It's up to you. Just remember that the other artists have the same choice. Make it comical or serious but show us your best VS piece.
Rules: Has to be ingame characters only. NO FORUM PERSONALITIES this time around. A sketch is perfectly fine but you can go all out if it calls to you. Keep in mind that the next artist has the same freedom. Only the 13 artists in the ranking are eligible for the contest but we'd love to see any other submissions as well
There will be another elimination for this month!! So keep the heat comin!
There will be only one entry allowed per person, and it is due no later than April 24th at midnight PST. Voting will be held the following week. If there is no entry submitted or it is late, you automatically forfeit and lose your spot on the rankings board.
Some notes:
<ul type="square">[*]The winner of April's's challenge will carry immunity for next month provided they submit a piece for May.
<ul type="square">[*]Imagesbyalex carries immunity this month provided he submits a piece. As he was the winner from March
<ul type="square">[*]Rankings
Please keep all your discussion and posting of pieces to this thread. The voting WILL BE ON ANOTHER THREAD.
Good luck guys,
-FArt Admin

Ha Ha! TA, you kill me! That's a good one! What a great "April Fool's" joke! Ha!
So, REALLY, what's the *actual* April Fan Art challenge?? -
That Alchemy things looks veeeeeeeeeery intriguing! Very intriguing, indeed!
-
I'm going to cast my vote for Lousy_Day - the pose, the rendering, the lighting, the simple-yet-solid background, the mood - great piece!
it was a tough choice, tho! SO many pieces, and such a wide variety of approaches!
Gotta give props to Alex, too, and especially to Toxic_Shia for cramming so much wonderfulness into such a small space!
