Well, there is interest, which is comforting :P
What day does everyone have in mind? I don't want to conflict with anything (Mothership raids, popular TF evenings)
Tuesday is an excellent day for me (Day off at Uni), so making the preparations is easier on me. My idea =
Every Tuesday. 8pm onwards, Pocket D
The problem of level restriciton came to me today, so perhaps 2 classes? lvl 38 (whatever that 'weight title' is called) and No exemp (lvl 50). If there is sufficient interest for lowbie pvp (just on DOs or SOs, so 13/23) then am all for having that too.
So not tonight, but next tuesday, give this a run through? Start with Team PvP with whoever turns up, round robin style (Team A vs B, A vs C, C vs B, whichever won the most, wins. etc)
Please post any ideas/ suggestions. There are bound to be plenty of holes in this idea, and you guys are the ones to find them *wink* :P -

i.e. Players that have specced a certain optimal PVP build, usually IO'd up to the hilt.[...]
in my Personal Experience, the above will eventually happen, its just how soon...

I Didn't take it as an Anti-PvP post, just a sensible reservation about the Idea that I too have. Perhaps there could be a way to prevent that? Like: The same toon cannot be used in the same event 2 weeks in a row, or something.
You've hit the nail on the head though, Encouraging new players into PvP (which, at best, is enjoyable by accident, in the Zones), without drawing some imaginary line over which, once you step (too unbeatable), you're unwelcome.
I do feel that individual matches (I stress Team PvP once more) and those who compete should be able to delegate sensibly amongst themselves, but that may only end in tears.
I don't know, perhaps we'll learn through experience. I'm happy to accommodate 'l33t PvP0rz', but I hope they've got the sense to be lenient in letting more casual players enjoy it too, in a more communal sense -

Hi
First time posting, so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

It's certainly one of the many suitable places for a question like this, and welcome to the forums!
I've never been able to find a bind to buff an entire team in one click/button. I think this is because after the 2nd or third target change/application, everything goes to pot
I've not looked at the link from the poster above, but setting say:
/bind 1 pow_exec_name Ice Shield
and then having the toggle teammates bind (bit sketchy on this, something like cycle_custom_teammate, or something similar?) and then simply pressing your cycle key, then 1, on loop, can be *Much* less frustrating than click buffing from the team window and the power tray.
Just my opinion, s'how i deal with bubbling 8 man teams twice over without wanting to drown myself in a vat of tar -
Sorry for the rather Tolkein esq summoning in the thread title, but it feels only right to summon you with a sentence that should be bellowed.
Here is my idea. I've discussed this with a few people, and feel it should be open to further discussion:
Like cheese, I love good PvP. Bad PvP compared to it tastes a little off. When players get together and *have fun* fighting each other, I feel there are few things in this game that compare.
Thus, Like Spider's Mothership raids and Cha'ron's Task forces, I would be very up to running a weekly (set date) Arena PvP evening
Arena, because I dislike the PvP zones. They've become whiny zones mainly for Griefing and Farming
This is in the Defiant section because this applies to defiant only, i've got nothing onionside.
I understand hardcore PvPers may punch me in the ovaries for this, but I'm merely offering to host/organise this event. Plan is:
Team PvP > All, imo (but that's what the thread is for, for discussing). So much fun. 3 vs 3 or 2 vs 2 matches.
Round Robin Duels (some system of fairness...the Team PvP can account for AT weaknesses, hence any well build troller/scrapper/PvP toon will win this each week. hence my hesitation)
SG matches.
Gladiator matches (am a big fan)
Each will have a prize for the winner (Inf/recipe/any ideas?) And there will be a hall of fame kept (somewhere, can keep a thread here?)
If this generates little interest, I'll keep it small and hope people will warm to it. PvP can be so much fun when it's comfortable, and not unfriendly.
What do people think. Are people in favour of this.
And please, as i've seen now and then in these forums, no personal attacks, I'm asking for you opinions, i'm very enthusiastic about running this, it's the manner in which it's run i'm asking for comment on
And sorry for the layout/length...late night, lots to drink, etc.
Look forward to reading your comments -
I can see the obvious Pros of OG, but i couldnt Drop the fear due to it's lack of rez in PvP. tempted to spec OG out and put CoD back in or Focussed ACC (for Guassain Proc)
there's certainly plenty of personal preference. But with DA being rather squishy, scrapperwise, at least one of the soft controls *is* essential, I feel -
christ, things're that boring over there. don't you have a legion of indian children shouting 'Appendix BEE' to fend off? :P
we miss you. come home :P -
DA is the least end friendly thing you'll ever use. If you run most of the set, and Leaping to fill the lack of KB procetion, you're running 8 toggles +...let me find the link to my post

lies Baccarac. 3:31:07 for you
3:27:42 for us.
Good effort though :P -
I can't speak for Task force trafalgar (the real one), but Task force knee had a brilliant time. Thanks to everyone for making me grin very widely, and for my sides still hurting.
Let's do this again sometime! Hope you weren't too freaked out chis :P -
I wrote one a while ago, i11 Kat/DA..but it's merely musings, less a guide (no slotting, or mids etc). Scroll back in the scrappers thing if interested.
What're you looking to be 'guided' about, if you don't mind me asking? -
Ballsy taking two teams upon yourself, especially seeing as it gathered so much interest and had some arrangements prior to being posted here. I hope everyone here also appreciates it as Blue_note has said.
This is exactly why I hate DXP weekends. Let's just enjoy our Sunday evening. -
oooh oooh, playing with a red name should be interesting

Synergy seems quite decent with -res, def etc from storm.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly.
Beyond PvP basics (weither you want the Medicine pool or not, mez protect etc) most Stormie combos are very PvPable. especially w/sonic. You may find it slower than most blast sets, and without as much kick (at least in my experience), but it's rather suited for a longer slog...
Freezing Rain, Thunderstorm, -res from blasts = a rather mushy opponent :P (don't forget -tohit from hurricane, and fear from Tornado and -fly, -rech +slow from snow storm, which all but seals the deal for me)
I recommend sticking it out. I can knock something up in Mids if you're more inclined to looking at a build like that -

Definateknee looking forward to teaming with you guys again soon

Well Uzzi, you'll be seeing us for a reformation during double XKnee weekend :P
(I wanted another 'knee' pun *that* badly, yes..it's sad) -
Count me in, Toon will depend on what's needed
Edit: didn't see myself in the roster :P. Still, will change toon depending on who signs up
And welcome back to the game Mr. Oddjob! -
sadly, i've got to duck out guys, some RL issues that need sorting. Sorry, best of luck everyone

Es Lebe: Task Force Knee!!
Brilliant Task force, 100% enjoyable...shame the *cough* I mean good thing the invasion was villain side, shows how generous we are n'all that :P -
How're things on the Khannon on monday? Happens to be my favourite Task Force. Will happily sign up on whatever toon you need
-
If apologies are being said, then I need to voice mine. Have sorted out tech issues, but it's unfortunate that myself (along with a surprising amount of the team) kept dropping. Will be on in about 45 to give Lanaru a lobotomy :P
Also: Despite issues, has been one of the more pleasant runs of *any* TF shock, so thank*you* for sticking with it -
Happy to 'take part' if one were run. Still need quaterfield on my badger.
Has stealth IO, and recall friend, if that's ghosty enough for 'ya :P
