  1. Looking at it... they're only gonna be slightly more annoying then a Behemoth for me, with my two main luxuries (weak points and terrain manipulation) being pulled from me (because the Radscorpion is significantly smaller then the Behemoth, really limiting my options). Other then that, though, they shouldn't be that bad.

If I can still manage to cripple it's legs (going to be hard without a Dart Gun - this is sort of my 'challenge' character), it'll be a time-consuming cakewalk. I've yet to really run into too many things that pose a serious threat, and so far some of the most deadly enemies in the game are more annoying in their durability then they are anything else.

(Statistically, it looks like they only have 75% of the health of a Behemoth, and 300% the health of a Deathclaw - the lack of a vital point [the head, in most cases] can make it seem like more, though.)

I've yet to meet one of those, but if they're about as annoying as Super Mutant Overlords/Feral Ghoul Reavers, then my humongous supply of stimpacks (441) should serve me well in this matter.

And the fact all of my good weapons will likely be decently repaired, so I don't have to rely on slow-firing/reloading pieces of junk and trying to line up good shots. Man, I hate that. :<
  3. Eh. Just as long as I don't have to go to Maryland.

I already spent 4 hours today dodging swampfolk, swampghouls (Feral Ghoul Reavers = frightening; I thought Deathclaws were annoying as heck, man), and swamplurks.

Had enough swamp, methinks. Time to go get abducted by aliens or make monkies out of shadow governments!

Trying to get myself motivated to do things today, but ultimately deciding I just want to relax and do nothing for once. It's an odd battle of half-hearted attempts to motivate and not-motivate.

...My week's getting weirder by the day.

    Dear Anonymous

I don't see what all the big fuss is about rep, honestly. I tend to ignore the system in general, though I've left it enabled because I find it ironic I've got positive rep (oh, you crazy intarwebz people).

What does bug me is how many people complain about it. It's like post count - doesn't matter, and if I weren't curious about things like that (and my post per day average - damn vulpine curiosity'll be the end of me, I swear), I'd say burn it, too. Or at least make it unviewable.

Still, I suppose if it's not one silly thing it's another. People'll invent silliness where it's not set up... and even then, they may invent silliness anyway.

    Resounding meh.

  8. Can't help but feel the forums will feel a little different with you gone, mang.

Still, you're making a very solid decision, and I wish you the best of luck. The biggest advice I can offer in this is to get all of your feelers out in the first year of college. Figure out what is, and is not, within the realm of possibility with your class schedule. You may think five classes/week sounds like an easy to maintain number now, but from experience... Some classes are just that much more intensive out of the classroom, as they are in. Work on trying to gauge the difference now, and give this some serious consideration for classes that you think you may have trouble with.

Personally, for reasons beyond my understanding, I have a mental block with accounting. Can't do it for the life of me, despite doing crazy calculations all of the time out of sheer random desire. For every one hour I spent in class, I spend roughly 5 out of class trying to wrap my head around things. For other things (computer maintenance/repair), I could spend maybe an hour out of class for every two in class (conscious or not) and sail through. Same with most of my writing courses, for that matter. Know, understand, and recognize your strengths and weaknesses (which I doubt you have a problem with, but it never hurts to restate) and tailor your schedule to fit with how you roll.

First year is a great year to do a mulligan if you have or want to. Everything after that starts to have more importance, but this last bit of advice I'll give you is perhaps the most important.

    Don't panic.

You can always try again (at some expense, mind).

Again, good luck out there, mang, and hope things turn out for the best for you.
  9. Make up your mind, man!

I'm pretty much in the same boat as everyone else at this point. I only really check what mine actually is, when I'm curious what comments I've generated. Of course, with my reduced activity... Not so much in the way of faskinating material lately. Ah well.
  10. Darn sleep schedule.. between it and the heat, I'm having a ton of trouble waking up at decent hours. :< Which in turn is sapping my motivation for doing things, as is the muchly abbreviated work schedule (IE: "Get this vague thing done in two days."). Kind of killing my motivation for the most part, as I can't really focus on anything else or I fall behind. ><

Ah well. I'll probably feel better once I get some coffee. *Curls up on the FoC and gnaws on missing words.*

I think I've used the rep system all of... once. And that's because I know the person personally, and couldn't turn down a request for neg-rep like that. :/ Does that make me a bad person?

...In a random sort of inquiry way, as I'm having one of those weird nights of thoughtfulness.

I did not say or infer that not showing rep makes you bad. You somehow gleaned that from the post. I don't know where you drew this "rep off = bad" thing from. Maybe you need to watch your own assumptions.
Perhaps. Though, you would probably likewise benefit from maybe using slightly more care in word choice. Or, specifically, in being a bit more clear and less insulting.

Could you perhaps clarify your point a bit more, preferably without the assumptions and negativity? Because I'm failing to understand where 'rep = off = BAD PERSON', and would like to understand from whence came you to this conclusion.
  14. Now I'm tempted to change it to something else. But that'd require work, and I'm doing way too much of that lately as it is. :<
  15. I'm confused. If people are flipping out at Bill's sig, why am I getting so much positive rep from mine? >_>

(You people really have no idea how hard it was to find something that tasteful to go with the quote.)
  16. *Yaawns, and gets some baconwaffles to go with an extra large mug of coffee.*

Yesterday, as I expected, thoroughly sucked. Massive allergy attack during the clean-up at the motel, into a full 18+ hour day on just 4 hours of sleep. Last... 5 hours was at least spent gaming, though. Really need to work on our coordination skills, and I gotta stop trying to do silly things like suplexing stuff twice my size. At least until I get a better strength bonus..

Exhausted, and deciding that today... Today I'm just kicking back to chill.

Of course, "what feels right" is often very similar to "what performs pretty well," but the numbers are really more of a guideline to me. I don't get hung up on my build having 5% less effective survivability than another. On my Mind/Fire Dom, I slotted Mesmerize for damage instead of, like, mezzing, and every day I'm super-happy I did that. My Dark/Regen scrapper has the Leadership pool, cause I felt that'd be cool for her to have. I don't care that it gives like 3% less damage and 1% less to-hit than a defender's Leadership would. It's still good!

So yeah. I suppose my answer is "whatever"
    Pretty much this.

I have enough Defense on my Bot/Storm to pretty thoroughly ignore most things coming my way (though far from Softcap - heck, my bots are more winvulnerable then I am), enough Recharge/Defense on my Kat/WP to really feel comfortable with how it plays... enough Leadership toggles in my Huntsbabe (schaa! For suuure) build to really not bother with anything far more intensive (except maybe more defense.. I gotta works on dat)...

I don't go for 'perfect', but I understand enough to know that if I wanted to be perfect, there's more stuff I could do to facilitate that, and most specifically what that stuff is. I just plug stuff in until it feels right, keep under budget, and spend the rest of the time mauling faces while going the entire time.

  24. While I'm happy for PK and the game for getting a mention...

That's not exactly something I'd consider newsworthy, and it comes off sort of offensive to our international cohorts across t3h seaz (should the sea actually exist - I DISBELIEVE!). :/
