Well, I check back into the thread this morning. Check Community Digest....Dev Digest. Still no further replies to this.

Now they're ignoring their customers. (but they have plenty of other posts!)

This is starting to become insulting. I have friends on WoW who have been begging me to come over. If I didn't have 27 months invested in this game and a supergroup that relies on me, I'd done be gone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh, this made me laugh.

Go over to the WoW forums and demand answers from their Devs over a change you don't like and see what answers you get. From those who play multiple MMORPGs, they consistently rank our Devs as the most communicative, so, good luck with WoW.

And most importantly, stop demanding answers. It's petulant. Sometimes no answer is the answer. And, most importantly, you're not allowed to do it on the forums here, otherwise, this tool for communication becomes overrun not by those who want a real dialogue and can take 'no' for an answer, but from all the screamers.

    <ul type="square">5. No “I Demand Answers” threads

Threads that make threats or use other combative language will be removed without notice. If you ask a question on the board and it has not been addressed by a moderator, there is a reason for that (or there is not an answer currently available). In the event of legitimate emergencies, or other unprecedented scenarios, we will endeavor to provide comments, even if it is only to state that there is no officially available information. However, this is not always possible.[/list]

Seriously....this is a MAJOR ball drop here, and the "official" comments so far have been nothing but an attempt to "pull wool over our eyes".

    [/ QUOTE ]

So what sinister truth do you think They are trying to keep from you?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Is there something useful to be gained by constantly chasing after people suggesting conspiracy theories in this thread? You've made your point, there's no need to repeat it over and over. It just becomes noise.

I'd rather we discuss the meat of the issue -- the actual changes made to TFs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tell you what. You tell that to all the people that keep saying that there is a conspiracy, a cover up, a deep truth, a hidden agenda, a purposeful deception in order to achieve.... I'm not sure. That's why she's asking.

They are the ones that keep bringing this up and are off-topic, so, why don't you tell them to knock it off? Once they do, we can stop inquiring as to what it is they keep implying is happening but are unable to name.

Why did it take them two days to "find" the patch notes or to comment?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Office chaos. LH clearly wasn't in the loop, as his now-deleted comments about it being a bug reveal.

Now, is anyone actually going to answer my question? If you're going to make conspiracy theories, then the person(s) doing the conspiring have to have something to gain by it.

    [ QUOTE ]

The reason it's bad in the limit is that they become the ones least affected by this change. The logic goes: slower/longer TF for more folks = higher prices for desirable pool C drops = more RMT business since they can still make large amounts of inf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Huh?

Ppl are saying that RMTers are going to exploit this TF change...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't. When I said 'boon to farmers' I didn't say anything about RMT. If you want to create the straw man argument that everyone in this thread that is talking about farming problems caused by minimum loads is solely focused on RMT, then I guess you just might win against that false premise. Score one for you!
  9. Bad Idea

I'm all for stopping the farming of TFs through soft loading. (The uber technique is an 8-player team can use 8 alts to start 8 Cap TFs with 8 different teams and have each solo'd to the end with only one member of each team, and then, at the tend, the full teams log into each TF sequentially to finish it off. That's 8 Recipe in under an hour).

However, you've only made the Cap Recipe Farming go from 8 recipes an hour to 8 recipes every 90 minutes.

In addition, you've created the soloist AoE Fire/Kin farmer's dream: a max-loaded infinitely repeatable mission full of farmables.

Weak solution to one problem, a huge boon to another problem.

    This idea fails horribly.

And to my fellow players, the two other so-called stealth nerfs were not really stealth changes SINCE WE WERE FRIGGIN TALKING ABOUT THOSE CHANGES ON TEST! How can the Devs hide changes that we already knew about? The moment the patch went live, those **who already knew about the change from Test** started the chant of "STEALTH NERF!" on the live forums only to punish the Devs. These players acted in bad faith and the other players ignorant of what's happening on test fell for their bad-faith attacks on the Devs.

On Test, the Ouroboros 'pseudo-TF' missions were loading as 8 person teams even for one person. That was fixed and some were reporting still large spawns for other TFs, notably Cap. So, we sort of saw this on Test, but no one knew why. So, this is the only true 'stealth' change from Test. Anyone who wants to contest that, I will tell them to their face that they are either ignorant or a liar.

    1. Check your PlayNC account to see that the serial code is attached to your account. I know you have several, make sure it's the right account.

    2. Check to see if the new costumes show up on the heroes' side for that particular account on a Live server. Then check the villains side of that same Live server. (I emphasize 'Live' because it will take an extra day to propagate to Test.)

    3. If it's still not there on the Villain's side then open a customer support ticket. Only a GM can help you now.

The ushers to get into the event are located in Atlas Park (near Ms. Liberty), and Mercy Island (near Fateweaver). We will make 15 minute announcements before the ushers will be open to guide you to the live event, at that point, it is up to the ushers to decide.

Ushers will escort you to the location.

    WTF?!

I know you guys try to protect against credit card fraud and all that, but for future packs, could you find a way to to sell us more than one unit in a single purchase? Maybe not a dozen all at once or anything, but at least a number equal to our game accounts on any given PlayNC account?

So if someone has 3 CO* accounts, he can buy 3 upgrades simultaneously.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

However, it is better now. Used to be a month wait when trying to buy a second GvE code for my second account.

Hey, NCSoft, how about rewarding customers with multiple accounts with the ability to manage those accounts AS A WHOLE?

Ah, they're probably afraid we're triple boxing farmers.

The costume parts are *gorgeous*. They're not just useful for "wedding" (my god, and you're complaining THEY should come into the 21st century?) - they're viable costumery.

Maybe I should be more clear: Wedding bimbos without Wedding himbos. Where's the shirtless open formal vest? The tuxedo shorts? The hearts boxers? The fishnet briefs with banana hammock? The bicep leather band? The set of common arm and torso tattoos? The sleeveless formal cuffs? The tights with a tuxedo pattern? The loincloth? The formal shirt open to the navel?

  20. My Feedback:

    Matt and Brian,

I have two accounts. I pay NCSoft $360 a year. If you raised the monthly subscription to $20 a month, I'd pay the extra $120 without blinking. I bought two GvE packages for $20 because it was worth it.

I am severely disappointed in the Valentine Pack. It is not worth $10. It is barely worth $3. Not because the artwork isn't spectacular, it is. But because I expect that artwork for the $360 a year I already pay you. This pack is nowhere near commensurate with the GvE pack.

Also, I do not want to send the message that I'll buy anything you sell. Make it worth real cash, and I'll buy it.

And now, with a heavy sigh, I must bring up again a recurring complaint of mine when I point out that the choice of costumes exhibits your inherent sexism in approaching the game. Wedding. Great. Good for you, boys! Think that up at the kegger? It's disgraceful. (Note I'm not the first to bring this up.) Please join us in the 21st century.

I would love to spend a big chunk of money to reward all of you for a great game. But you put me in a position of also rewarding a paltry goodie package, and possibly, future paltry goodie bags. Sorry, can't do it.

Hopefully, I've addressed this to the right people. We've been told that NorCal is being given a free hand, so, I assume the responsibility of this lies with you and not with Austin.

    Peace. -ZM

While the live roleplayed wedding will be interesting I wonder what they'll do about having someone showing up to ruin it all. You can't seriously expect with 100 attendents that you won't have some jerk(s) messing around and getting a kick out of being disruptive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm sure that was all worked out in the closed beta.

This is all fantastic, but the one thing missing now is being able to see the change in these numbers _before_ you slot enhancement, in the popup alongside the %ages.

Then finally people might stop slotting hover and combat jumping for defence

  23. Suggestions for future 2xXP Weekends:
    1. [u]More advanced warning of the server cap[u]. Actually, this is already accomplised since the policy is announced and the next 2xXPWE is months away. But it would be nice to have about a week's notice for the weekend combined with the warning about the server cap. This would then be a reminder to transfer a toon or roll a new one on a less populated server, or, bear the consequences.
    2. [u]Free transfers off of any server that had hit the cap this weekend[u] (that would be Freedom *and* Virtue, so far). Even if the free move is only available for a week before the next 2xXPWE.
    3. [u]Enable server transfer outside of server selection[u]. Many who would have paid $10 to move a toon off of a locked server couldn't do so, because you had to log into the server first.
    4. [u]A queuing mechanism for cap-locked servers[u]. All this backing out of the login screen and back in is tedious. OR, the ability to refresh the server listing without having to back out and reload it to see if a server has freed up, perhaps even done automatically once a minute.
    5. [u]An AFK time-out for toons in bases and on TFs[u]. No one has any valid reason to be AFK for more an hour (that I can think of). Make it an hour. Long enough to satisfy people who need to attend urgent RL tasks, but not too long that people can 'park' their toon indefinitely. It's either this or jiggle the server on-and-off when the cap is about to be reached to knock off all the 'parkers' and see how many log back in. Obviously, the former option is the better. Perhaps this AFK timer for TFs and bases can be turned on only during 2xXPWEs?
    6. [u]Continue to discourage RMT[u]. Although I personally doubt there are that many that are making a significant contribution to the problem, they should still be discouraged. While kicking them for in-game solicitation is always wonderful, perhaps it's time to start hitting them on another front: farming. Game mechanics should be altered to discourage the farming techniques that make RMT attractive and worth their while monetarily.
  24. Hitler and Nazism!

I just wanted to be the first to introduce this inevitable destination of this discussion. Godwin compels me!
