1. Outside of the AE Temp Power, would it be possible to get an Architect creation object for bases
2. A set of Legacy Beacons for the zones affected by the planned chages coming in I21
3. Pre-fabricated base maps utilizing a select set of instanced mission blueprints (office, warehouse, etc); with either specified areas for object placement or open placement.
4. The ability to use the Base creation tool as an AE map maker
5. Using objects from either in both in regards to current objects and future object additions.
[6. Being able to save constructed Bases as files that can be utilized in a similar manner to costume saves. (Accessible when constructing new bases or if utilizing the template as an AE map)] -
Opacity (Transparency/Intensity) Slider for powers available in the Costume Creator. Some powers obscure visibility over large enough area to cause issues; especially when certain colors are used (like Hurricane).

Along the line of flat(ish) standing (kneeling) surfaced flying props:
Any of the Trail/[Path] Auras (for standing-pose flight/flying power-slide, ala Iceman)
Giant Manta/Sting Ray
Giant Tortoise (Gamerra?)
Giant Bat
Magic Carpet (w/a Bear Skin Rug option)
Storm Cloud (or a little nimbus one... or even a Cloak of Fear type cloud)
Meteorite
Platform w/horizontal propeller underneath
Giant Kites (diamond and/or triangle, w/design options for the underside)
Giant Hand-Fan (saw one on a couple of anime)
Customizable Summoning Circle (of complex design-type)
Generic Hover Platform (complete w/blinking lights)
Giant Blinking DOS Cursor (w/trail?)
Something that we can put a Large Face on the front of (or bottom) (w/option to use any of the faces already available in-game) (bringing up adding Faces to Shield design again )
Re-purpose (perhaps re-size?) the Shield design as a flying platform (w/all the options currently available for Shields) -
Forgot about Swimming... being that swimming is pretty much a null power (just something that happens to happen when a body of water leaps in the way); how about sprucing that up a bit:
Surfboards, jet skis, boogie boards
Have it tied into a radio button in the Menu AI so the player auto switches to whatever his/her desired swim mode is once they hit water (whether it's the default swim or an alternate method) -
Quote:Could use the same mechanic as TP; just add in the restriction of only being able to use the ground as a destination target (perhaps even 'walls'; even though that would probably entail having to flag certain vertical surfaces as no go -like broadside of a tanker ship)And how about a burrowing travel power?
Make the avatar invisible/remove the model/something, aply -jump and -fly and add some sort of durt trail/cracked ground and a burrowing sound.
Maybe not the most handy of travel powers, but it makes for some great themes. -
So, if the plan is to expand on the Rocketboard idea - how about including various aesthetic options, like items similar to the Green/Hobgoblins board, Serpentor's sky chariot, magic carpet, nimbus clouds or flying creatures just big enough for a character to stand on (rein in hand) - and that would be just for Flight (still need alternatives to Jump and Run; even if they are odd (ie. pogo sticks, spring shoes, semi-teleporting sprint or even different animation choices for TP)

Perhaps a 'skin glove' that does have a more detailed/textured look...

Quote:Tights = Pro Wrestling costumes or "I wear my undies on the outside"; not that I mind more patterns but more pieces should come first (IMO) and then we can add patterns to the whole shebang.no, actually the last time we got them(vandal perplex, arctic and the like), they were pretty nice, its more the attitude that in order to get tights, lets screw over people who enjoy anime, medieval comics, military comics, powersuits, supernatural characters, monster characters, modern superhero fans and the like, because they dont belong.
i don't mind tights, i rarely use them because for a character that is supposed to integrate into a real-ish world, they look hysterically corny, but they have their place in comics, generally in older, throw-back comics where they dont look drastically corny in context, but that is one thing i hate about longbow, non-powered people wearing tights just looks silly and would be horribly non-functional. where the heck do they even store their ammo?(yes i know some wear bandoleers, most dont) What i'd like to see is tights being treated a bit like martial arts outfits. you can use most martial arts in a comfortable set of jeans and a t-shirt, but the robes and gi's are there to visually distinguish the character right away as a martial artist. tights on enemy groups should be limited to those who are actually powered. in this respect crey gets it the most correct, gunmen and techie guys wear appropriate armor, and the powered wear tights, great progression.. we also got a lot of "tights" enemies and allies in tips missions. but for the overall game, i like the balanced approach, more tights, sure yeah, but in balance with more power armor, more martial arts garb(why the HELL dont we have a good fighting cheongsam yet?) and more beast options.
there is a reason i play 2 superhero mmos and not the third, two draw from a balanced set of outfits, and one is all damn tights all the time. -
If they come up with a Lost World storyline and zone (at least a few instanced/MA zones) to go with it; I'd kick up quite a few points. But they would have to throw in the tooth necklace and fur/animal skin bra to go with it. []

Quote:One of the core values underpining COH is customization, and we always strive to give you guys new options as often as possible--to put more toys in the toybox, as it were. So while we'll never forget about traditional tights and cape options, we definitely want to enable players to create whatever their imaginations can conjure up. Maybe you'd like to create a Western-, Scifi-, Fantasy-, Steampunk-, Pirate-, or Barbarian- themed superhero? Our goal is to cover ALL the possibilities as fully as possible.
Comic characters come in all sorts of genre flavors after all (look at Jonah Hex, Thor, Conan, Lady Mechanika, Swamp Thing, etc.), and we love the notion of a COH universe where literally anything is possible.
Fans looking for new tights options might want to check out the upcoming Defender, CoT, and Celestial sets. All of these offer a fairly plain 'underlayer' for you to build on and that should mix and match more easily with other sets.
Cheers,
NS
So... about those Barbarians... does this mean we can expect loin cloths/furs, shoulder furs, skull hats, bone armbands/anklets and furry boots in the near future?
lol, I'm slow... and you're getting nudged into a corner. -
Quote:lol, I was actually tempted to do this.

Yall Devs played my 'girls w/guns' arc, didn't you.
Liked the mage-gunners/bullet-witches. (need firearms as an alternate animation option for all offensive projectile powers)
Liked the new PPD (spray?) cannons
Infected? Clockwork
Hami Avatar and air-ship
Liked the look of the Underground
First Ward zone looks good -

Yes, players DO actually read the main pages of the website.

Quote:Manticore was one of the main ambiguities on the Going Rogue trailer. You know, given that both of them are missing from that picture I think the broken bow is misdirection. My bet is on Sister Psyche dying and Manticore going Evil to get revenge (the broken bow is symbolic both of his broken heart and him giving up his father's legacy as a hero to pursue vengeance). Manticore has always been the most... morally flexible... member of the Phalanx so I could easily see his wife's death causing him to go uber-vigilante.

I'd like to see an armor set that's doing similar things to what the proposed changes to Energy Armor would do.
Absorbtion - +Res (w/a chance for Heal, +Regen +End, +Recovery, +Rech, or etc... when hit)
Reflection - +Res (w/a chance to do damage to the attacker)
Parry - +Def (w/a chance for -ToHit or KD effect)
Armors that cause -End, -Regen, -Recharge, Slow, Chance for Mez, etc... when hit)
I'd also like to see the Chaining mechanic applied to a teleport based attack set (as well as a teleport based attack set) -
Quote:Just look at what's happening there now: just with the iTrial crowd (at peak times) there's getting to be so much going on at the RWZ-1s... that League forming moves to other instances of the RWZ and into Pocket D.So, basically, we need the equivalent of a VIP lounge for an iTrial launching zone. Perhaps it's time to restore the old Paragon Dance Party?
You bring in a bunch of people that aren't allowed access to the trials but that are still going to run RWZ content, Mothership Raids and the LGTF to build up their Merits and Vanguard Merits; its going to congest things up quite a bit and could initially push the iTrials right out of the RWZ and into Cimerora, Ouroboros? and Pocket D (being the only other co-op zones at the moment).
Similar thing could happen with Cimerora: people that aren't allowed access to VIP content going with the ITF and Wall farming to optimize 50s; plus those just running Cimeroran Arcs jamming up the chat channels and so forth.
Theoretically, at some point, Pocket D would soon be having the same issues as the RWZ does currently; especially once some of the Holiday Events kick off.
Then again; all of this influx (if any) may decide to avoid the Co-op zones and things would carry on as usual.
Other thing to consider is that free players not having access Incarnate play on the regular servers in addition to some potential moves to the VIP server by current players might create an 'Incarnate Server'. -
Quote:The main reason I would see, at this point, for any kind of exodus to a VIP server is to create a 'hassle-free' iTrial community.A few points
- The Anniversary event was a great test of the server capability and pointed out where we need to make some adjustments. Any sort of "lag" (said in quotes because it's a generic term that players use to describe a number of things) wasn't necessarily on the server itself. There's a lot of technical mumbo jumbo that explains it, but I'm not the guy to do so. We're actually going to be raising the queue numbers significantly (as we did with the Freedom anniversary event), again, because the server itself is very capable of handling it.
- To designate Freedom, Virtue, Union or any existing server would be unfair to the other servers.
- To designate an existing server as a VIP server would be counter productive to one of the stated goals of City of Heroes Freedom, which is to allow former players the opportunity to come back and play with their friends either as VIP (preferable ) or Premium.
We are not giving any sort of special incentive to playing on the VIP server, it's simply there as an option, if you so chose to exercise it .
Once Freedom goes live, the potential population surge of those who can't/won't do Incarnate content will theoretically begin to fill up the typical League forming areas (RWZs/Pocket Ds (Cimeroras?) with the crowd magnitude of Atlas Park on the Freedom Server). -
Repost from Sugg Forum:
More for RP/Aesthetic purposes, can you guys throw in an option on how an ambush arrives on the scene?
Its good that the status quo is to have them run through the halls shouting that they're coming but I think it would also be good to have the option to have them spawn directly into the room; whether its by rift, glyph, gradual opacity, physically ripping through (or other method) from the room's floor, ceiling or walls.
(Existing example would be Demon Pets, Thug Lts, Merc Commando, Zombie Apocalypse critters, Rikti/CoT type portals, the DE tree spawns (Razorvines?), etc)
We already have a plethora of CC emotes that could be applied as well...
[as a sidenote; being able to apply the CC emotes as an alternate animation for MM/Controller pet summoning/dismissal might not be such a bad idea either ] -
I don't know if one already exists; I haven't seen it personally... but can we add in a Reset All Chat Tabs (to default) option to the Menu?
Recently, I had logged into a toon that I had managed to chat-kill because of modifications that I made (apparently to track procs, (as well as other things)). I think that I may have gotten everything back to norm; by tweaking/editing here and there... but it would've been so much easier if I could have gone in and reset all my tabs at once (nuking it from orbit; so to speak). -

um... PEATs at 50? I thought the trend for EATs was going to be pre-50 level...

I don't mind running Keyes once I'm better equipped for it (or if using a toon that's better equipped for it).
I'm thinking there's a method to the madness when speaking on the utilization of Incarnate abilities vs. the diversity of game challenges. I'm beginning to believe the intent was to afford players the ability to more quickly adapt to different situations without having to resort to full-bore respecs. First there was the access to multiple builds (limitations being the cost to slot each build and the 15 minute timer); now, its the Incarnate Trees (cooldown time on swaps).
I'm glad I wasn't one of the people that had to have a Tier 4s in every slot ASAP and wasn't under much pressure to have T3s either. In most cases; T2s were good enough for me to be able to get more than one Lore or Judgement set to fulfill both optimization and concept needs and T1s are enough to get me multiple Destiny and Interface abilities to be flexible enough for most any kind of mission. And getting any T1 you may need is cake (once you can score a League, that is).
