Check back, I've answered your questions. Relationships in the story are just a part of it. As for joining a LGBT SG? If someone wants to do so, then be my guest.
My bugbear with it is then hearing how some members are then persecuted and segregated for being what they are, but at the base of it all, they invite it by not intergrating with everyone else regardless of sex, sexuality, colour, creed or other possible 'difference'.
So, would you answer my questions? -
Quote:I have to ask... are you persecuted? Angry at the injustice? Or someone who prefers to defend your beliefs without considering that you're using the wrong argument on the wrong person?I highly doubt any gay SG would not allow a straight person to join and if they do then it's wrong. What you fail to understand is that persecuted minorities like to flock together for support and to share personal experiences(Even within an MMO). There is no need for straight only SG because the vast majority of films, tv, books, songs, and video games represent heterosexuality. Heterosexuals have many outlest to show off their straightness . You don't see it cause to you it's the norm.

Nope, I've just spent the last 15 minutes trying to edit a post because I wasn't 'logged in', even though I was on the edit post page. I like the forums, but this 'feature' is annoying as all hell.
-
Not once did I say that I have a problem. You don't see people advertising a 'straight-only' SG do you? In truth, we should ALL be welcoming of all walks of life even if it's not always the case. Sometimes, the biggest persecutors are the 'persecuted'.

Quote:No, because it's part of the story.Heterosexuality is flaunted in this game endlessly. From Mants and Sisters wedding (which was a huge event) to players saying "Wife/Husband agro" to Fusionettes and Faultlines heterosexual realtionship. Does it bother you that these heterosexual relationships are mentioned in game?
-
Quote:Don't get me wrong, I'm not bothered about who or what sex people are or what they date... but you don't really need to mention it in game, do you?Do we need to hear about heterosexual relationships in game? Cause if we don't then you have a lot of petitioning to do.
As for petitioning it... it's not worth my time, let alone customer support. I'd rather petition things that need to be. -
Quote:To me it makes no difference whether you're a 'lucky guy' or a 'lucky girl'. Certain things don't need to be mentioned in game. As FFM pointed out though, amongst those who are in your own social circle no one would bat an eyelid as you're all friends.Of course I must point out, that if the above example said "...such a lucky girl..." it would be okay. And that is the whole point of wanting a gay-themed or gay-exclusive SG. So that you can say what straights say all the time without question and without even noticing how lucky they are. I lived for years having to choose my words and [diminutive cat]-foot around certain conversations and issues.
I dare people to go an entire day in a normal environment (like work or school) without once alluding to or making obvious the gender of their significant other. -
Quote:Difference there is, you're not making it a focal point of conversation. It's when people say things like 'Gotta go, my man is home.. I'm such a lucky guy for dating him!' it goes from being informative, to being as subtle as slapping you in the face with a truck! :PI simply refer to it honestly. If my boyfriend gets home from work, I will say "Oh hey, I have to go, the BF just got home." And other perfectly natural comments. When someone gives me a "O.o Yer a girl?!?" I tell them no, in fact I am not... very much a dude. If that is wrong, so sue me. Hardly broadcasting though, so I guess that barely applies.
Time and a place, dear people. Time and a place. -
Am I the only person that had no problems with the old forums at all? I really like the look of the new ones, but after it's randomly logged me out and refuses to let me log back in, regardless of cookies or anything else... well, it's been somewhat annoying.

In all honesty, what people get upto in their private life is... well, private. Yes, there's a few people that are 'out' in-game, but not once have I seen it made a glowing beacon of attention-seeking. Well, apart from one player on Defiant who pretty much BROADCASTED IN CAPS ABOUT HIS SEXUALITY. XD
That didn't last very long, funnily... :P -
Out of curiosity I joined an MA team with my level 21 scrapper... it was set to level 50+, the mission was a huge map, packed with huge mobs, which were nothing but bosses.
I told them I had to feed my cat so I left. I don't even have a cat. -
Finally... I can have an Electric Melee toon without having to play CoV!
YAY! -
Can't seem to preorder the Ultimate version anywhere in the UK it's almost as though it doesn't exist!
Still, W7 Pro E still looks nice, but I would like the option to change the langauge on Windows to Japanese when I choose/run Japanese programs. -
Has an icon designed by Psygon!
-
Is blonde. (Well, the toon at least!)
-
Out of all of my toons I must say that Wolfsbane isn't my favourite, although I'm rather partial to 'Moonchaser', 'Vintage' and 'Limited'.
-
Thank you Incompatible.
The cohupdater.eu file was not set to compatibility mode but the actual CityOfHeroes file was, that's why it wasn't loading.
Thanks again mate. -
So, I took the plunge for once and checked out the Windows 7 RC. So far I'm loving it, but on a 64 bit OS, with NVidia's 185 drivers and a 8800GTS CoH takes donkeys to load to the login screen, ages to load the character select then sits on the zone loading for so long the game logs me out!
Uhm... can't be RAM, as I have 4Gig, and my CPU runs at 2.6G.
Must admit, I've all but left the game, but I really wanted to finally get my WS to 50, being only 5 bars away, and as I've spent more than 4 hours on this today I'm at the end of my tether. -
I'm still trying to figure out why I can't change my name to 'Wolfsbane' as is the name of my main toon, when I can't find another user with that name at all.. **cries**

Badges that make me go wow are the effing 60 month vet badges!
You just think "Jesus Christ, how long have they been playing this!"

Usually... for at least 60 months, I'd imagine.. -
You know what War Witch? You've described everything I've loved about the game, the places to see, the things to do and most of all the people that I've met.
My only gripe? That I didn't get my picture taken with you at Omega Sektor after getting you to sign the book for Mothers' Love. But, you were busy being crowded by all the others who wanted to chat to you and I for one couldn't deny anyone that.
Still, would have been hilarious to actually sit around and chat over a good old cup of tea! -
After chatting to them both, I'm sticking around. There shall be no DOOOOOOMTrain leaving from this station!
-
I'm still paying my subs, but the only thing that is keeping me around at times are those I've met in-game. The MA was fun for a little, but I can't even be bothered to write my own arc... I dunno, jaded? Possibly, but the little announcement about Issue 15 hasn't grabbed me enough to say 'Stop playing WoW'.
That in itself makes me sad...
