Hmm....shifting that leg a little does do something quite good to the pic...and the head lower does help add some weight to it...
Yeah, I'm using CS4. I hadn't got around to even starting the background yet except for colour flats, I have Alpha and the background on two seperate layers see
I'll mess around more and see what I can do. Thanks for the critique =] -
I sometimes get the feeling I'm not actaully writing Leon.
He's just...there.
*makes note to draw the damn guy sometime* -
Quote:"My, my, quite the damn palarver in here, dontcher think?" Leon mused, stepping seemingly out of the walls. "Now, while I'm loathe to intervene in...eheh, family matters?" he paused, raising an eyebrow at the brawling Balfears, "I would suggest you ladies and young 'uns make your way upstairs. Certainly before the spiders show up. Oh and, yes, I am a vampire. Just not an inbred," he added with a toothy grin.Inside the castle, Silvas began tending to Misty, carrying her with one arm while leaning against the wall with the other. As the group headed towards the stairs, a howl sounded above them and Laya went white. "....Alex..." she said quietly. "He's here" replied her father.
A Bat like creature hurtled down the stairs and stood infront of them "The mistress wouldnt like you leaving would she now, i will have to stop you." With that he shot into Silvas, knocking him back and landing ontop of him.
"i'll handle him, get out of here!" called Silvas, holding Alex in a tight grip and the Balfear's rained massively powerful blows on each other.
The air blurred, as a large armoure zombie mauled the air where Leon should have been, but it was like it had lurched through a shadow. There was a fleshy, sliding sound as the thing slid neatly into two piles on the floor while, a pace or so behind it, Leon shouldered his katana and lit a cigarette with his thumb.
"Trust me on that," he chuckled, before nodding his head up the stairs and moving down below the fleeing Nighthunters, blocking the way for anything else that tried to pursue them. -
Quote:Yeah, but, but...Nah. As you might imagine, we're quite busy with GOING ROGUE.
Awww...go and ruin my happy day dream of someone doing a Dio Brando on marketting;

There is only one foodstuff that has my undying love;

I wonder if the lack of further comment is due to the war that is currently raging between the Devs and Marketting...
"We should tell them!"
"No! They cant handle the truth! Me must spoon feed them tiny morsels at a time!"
"Thats daft! Give me that mouse back!"
"No! We are in control! You will listen-!"
"Give it back before I throttle you with it and Jay smacks you around the face with one of the graphics tablets!"
...
*happy sigh as he imagines the blood* -
Quote:You love me really :PAgain I should stop agreeing with Alpha as its bad for my health
But a mod would be good for future plots, we were discussing this earlier today, and all the above points but add in the mod being not involved in the plot or having toons involved.
Plus the patience of a saint as organising us roleplayers is like herding cats.
Cats on steroids.
Cats sipping acid on steroids.
Cats tripping on acid and dancing on steroids.
With tutus
I like the analogy though. Very acurate.
How did you find me? >_> -
Quote:Clear outline of the plotThis is where I envy the Americans. How do they mod plots so tightly and so successfully? Think there was a thread about this somewhere.
Bit of leeway for side plottage
Making sure you know which characters are and aren't expendable (I.E. there owners want them left alive)
Not being afraid to smack down with a really big hammer at times
Hmm....I can imagine the screams of pain and 'Oh god, not him!' if I jumped in to mod this right now...
But then people would hate me. Or laugh. And I would have to drop a Steamroller on them.

Quote:Which totally bollockses what the Corp was acting on.There are points in here .. and I maybe looked like I was overreacting by the way this went... So I totally removed Arachnos. As main villain it would have been nice if I knew what was going to happen a bit. And had time to respond. As it was I was at work constantly keeping tabs as things moved so fast.
Hows about people get plots set out straight with the actual GM (i.e Brit) and stuff? Better late than never? Rather than just carrying blithely into a deep hole?
Because I know a plot where that happened recently. Shall we not repeat that again, hmm? -
Maybe if someone knew how the hell to write Aeon at least half realistically...
I can very swiftly see this taking the exact downturn the Operation took oh so recently. -
Quote:In the fliers hold, surrounded by the rumble of the engines, seven forms sat in semi-darkness. Optics glowed in the darkness, though, and powerful laser and plasma weapons hummed in harmony with the engines.
The flier raised up and moved forward only slightly...before bursting forward out of the now open doors and rose high above Sharkhead.
Bill shouted at the pilot above the engine noise "KEEP AN EYE OPEN F'THE ARACHNOS FLEET! SLIP IN BEHIND THEM AS IF WE WERE THERE FROM THE START!!!"
The largest shape looked up for a moment, before turning it's crimson gaze on the smalles shape sat beside it, nudging it gently with one massive arm.
"We're on the move, brother," it stated, even over the noise of the engines.
The seventh figure looked up, visor snapping on and bathing the hold in a green glow.
"Finally," Techbot Alpha exclaimed curtly, sitting up slightly and cracking his mechanical knuckles ominously. -
Quote:Thats like saying that PvP is still as it is because BaBs hasn't animated a fix for it yet.Content of the booster aside, all this says to me is "if it's screamed about long and loud enough on the boards, the developers will eventually cave in and give it to us". Which isn't a good precedent to set, guys. Especially given your stance on it in the past.
*shrug* I -am- all for listening to the playerbase and trying to appease, but....when game bugs and glitches that have been around forever (and asked to be fixed for just as long) gets pushed aside just so some people can have a freaking furry tail to add to their characters......it saddens me.
Kudos for listening to the playerbase......but a big subtraction in the methodology. Something like this should've been included from day one.
These guys are the ART department. Not the powers or balance department. Its chalk and cheese; one does not relate to the other. -

T'be fair I've been at Uni, and I couldnt actaully physically play until after 6pm, hence Leon languishing at level 32
I have got his PvP build ready though! It even has fire blast in it!
I'm sure it will suck like a wet fuse, though, because that seems to be my luck in PvP

Given he's never posted to debunk that opinion, and this is the first animal part addition in...well, since City of Villains came out (I think?) it's not particularly hard to see where it comes from as a rumour, even if it did turn out to not be true.

Quote:It's true. Stuff that should be easier somehow comes out more crooked. Drawing smooth curved lines seems incredibly easy to me on paper, but much, much harder of a tablet, for no particular reason.Even without Edit>Undo, I actually have an easier time getting nicer results with traditional material over digital. I'm a very tactile person, and I think its a combination of the smoother surface texture of the tablet and the bit of disconnect from the work that makes it trickier on me than good ol' traditional media.
Maybe its the disengage between the drawing point and the result (tablet -> screen). Mebbe I need one of those fancy tablet PCs where you literally draw straight onto the screen. -
Wait, what?
At what point is this all over just yet?
Alright, before I get really damn lost and confused, can we all get onto the same page here? One big fight does not equal endgame. Otherwise that would have already happened at Moth Cathedral.
Edit:
Although I do think things are getting a little silly now.
Giant mechs? Attack helicopters? Recruited Infected?
I just...theres a line, y'know? I try and stick mostly within the game limits, with a few things that we simply arent allowed to do (like having a Katana/Regen scrapper with Fire resist and a few fire powers)
But it's starting to get a little silly now. I might as well just have Alpha nuke everything from orbit with Reason the Railcannon and be done with it, eh?
Personally, I think we need to let Game be the over-all GM here because, it is his plot after all. That, and Brit is and has been very good at running some seriously awesome plots over the years. -
After 6? Means I can be there. Weekid

Quote:^ Amen to a good suggestionI've made several suggestions that Trial Accounts be given a temporary title that says Trial Account in a bright color over the characters head. That way players can tell at a glance who can respond to tells.
I'd also like to see a nice red warning in the chat box that warns the sender of a Tell that the person they are messaging is on a trial account and can't respond.
If the system can send a similar message to someone who is being ignored they can do it for trials. -

Same goes for the skull mask, and a few other 'gender locked' pieces that shouldnt be, such as the japanese style bracers and arm guards. -
Quote:Pencil and paper should be mastered first. Its arguably harder to do than digital, because there is no 'back' buttonJust jumping in here again... We ended up using the version of Coral Painter that came with the tablet and it does support the touch sensitivity. I unfortunately haven't checked on any new arts Jr. has created but will check when I get home and post up something if he's got any...
I know he still prefers pencil and paper...
it's the way I learned, and they prefered people who had traditional skills when I signed up here at Uni

The problem I have now is I tried editing some of the cables in his back to being more taut, but it doesn't work. It looks way too clumsy. And theres not really any way I can edit the body itself now without pretty much doubling the ammount of work on this. Given I would like ti actually finish this one at some point, Its really bugging me on how to make it look better without taking a months on it =/

Quote:Leon merely sighed as the flames roared around him, skin blistering and then settling in almost the same instant. The two gargoyles on either side of the door suddenly came to life breathing fire to whatever would be in front of them... An iron fence lowered over the staircase door down...
Elizabeth walked through the dungeons looking at Kai sprinting before her... The zombie guard was walking with her. "Alert the guards... raise the alarm. And have a small platoon guard the prisoners.", she said to him. The zombie took a turn and went to the section where the guard was stationed.
"Y'know, one of these days people will take the time to bother thinking a little on the name 'DeFeurard'," he said to thin air, before lashing out either way.
With a pair of stoney 'crunch's, the gargoyle's heads hit the floor and shattered. With a sound like tearing silk, followed by a metallic clang, the gate followed. Batting out a persistant little flame on the elbow of his now charred red suit, Leon strode down the stairs, katana held ready and whistling 'For he's a jolly good fellow' to himself as he did so. -
Update;
Got the Colour flats down, and starting to paint on top of it.
Most of my work to date has always made rather heavy use of lineart. Its quicker, but also doesnt look quite as painterly as I would like at times.
While it works for stuff like my graphic novel, I wanted to do Alpha justice.
I got me a fair ways to go yet...

Quote:Thank you for convincing Jay to get over his 'furry' phobia. It will indeed work for foxes.
Jay did all the heavy lifting here, so let's give credit where credit's due. We're definitely taking stock of fan requests and trying to put as much of it as possible into the pipeline. On a completely unrelated note, wait 'til you see what's cookin' in animation...
I'm not sure what it took, but, eeh...like I mind?
heh heh
