Question, since wading through pages of responses is difficult...can the OP edit the original post to include the server and SG name? Saves wading through pages of posts to find the info
My BF and I will be rolling toons to join the SG if there's room...I'm the artist, he's an art collector

I second the notion of an OP edit... In addition to mentioning Envisionaries SG on Liberty it would help to include a contact name. Also someone suggested we include a web-address to our gallery in each bio. Those sort of suggestions might be helpful to also include in the OP.
Last night I had a blast teaming with many of the legends of Paragon... Thor's Assassin, Kilotonnage, Imagesbyalex, Siouxie's Mistress, Crestent and Aerones. Great idea Spino!

FYI
You can only edit a post for a limited amount of time. I don't know exactly how long, but it is something like an hour...not the days that this thread has been here. The OP cannot be edited. Now, that doesn't mean there can't be an updates version posted here in the thread.

I think the point was to get the information all on the first page so anyone could find it right away instead of having to wade through however many pages there are now to find any solid info...
So yeah, no, there's no way to edit the OP. -

It is the shoulder pads that make it so much better. -

He found me, but has yet to convince me to draw his character :P

That's two of us so far...

Oh, and 8baller? Niiiiice work. The second one is a tad dark and I have some trouble making out some of the details, but overall I like it a lot. I'd love to see your method. Do you have any pieces with various stages of Work In Progress you'd like to share? -
Dude, I am so just messin' with ya.
I've seen it happen on occasion. I just never got any screenshots of it. -

So here's a question, then:
Is there a large learning curve in learning to draw on a tablet instead of the old-fashioned pencil and paper method? I've been tempted to get a tablet, but wonder if it's really something I'll use. I'm comfortable with my pencil, gum eraser, and pastels, but the idea of doing some things digitally interests me.

I've done some drawing on my tablet, and not been very impressed with my results, but that is because I like to move my paper every-which-way while I draw, and just can't get my hand and my brain lined up to get the lines right when I move the tablet in the same manner...
What I tend to do is still draw on paper, but then scan it in and color it digitally. I really like the results I get that way. -
A couple of weeks ago Protector's own Warface had a party, complete with contests and prizes. The prize for the costume contest winner was a drawing of their character by me.
Armorshot was that winner.
So he and I chatted a bit about possible poses for his character, and the one he decided on looked something like this.
I really liked that pose, but we needed a background. Armor decided he liked Recluse's Victory.
So then after that I lightboxed the piece onto a clean sheet and started adding some color.
And then some more.
...Until I eventually got it finished. -
I remember back in school this one guy used to hold his breath until he would pass out...
He did it to get out of classes. -
Gee... just look at all the mileage that tasteless joke got. *Rolls eyes*
<--Protector Player. -
Just remember... Turbo is the Bad Twin.
Which makes me the nice one.

...Or can both siblings in a set of twins be evil? That just doesn't seem possible given the Law of Averages and all... -

That'd probably take nothing short of hacking the game or changing the code, Shego.
Some more screens: a bit better, but I still havent really tried yet

Yes, yes... we all know you can photomanipulate screenshots. It is hardly a new discovery. -
I'm very happy with my Graphire 3. It really is awesome.
I am casually looking into upgrading to an Intuos 6x8 to get a larger work area, and some hotkeys could be nice, too., but I've been using the Graphire series for several years now, and still love them. -

...You can't have my spot!
Phoebus must be surrounded by buff, strapping men... He has a contract somewhere. -
And I'll be getting in touch with you to help reimburse the price a bit once I have a few bucks to spare... Stupid Winter heating bills.
-
But I like the jewels... I don't want them to be kicked around.
Thank you for stopping her, LJ.

...I'm beginning to think Turbo must be the Bad Twin.
oºoºoº -
That is inappropriate touching for twins to be doing, I'm sure...
-
Those were obviously photomanipulated.
-
Wow... All that detailing is very impressive.
I have to say, though, that my favorite part of it so far is the hand. That just looks plain cool.
Now, personally, I think that from the ribcage down, she looks a bit skinnier than she does from that point up. Comparing the width of her thighs to that of her upper arms, she just seems a little bit "off" to me. I would probably flare out her hips just a bit more and slope the outside line of the legs out just a bit from where they are now.
...But mostly that's just me being nitpicky because overall that looks awesome. Taking the time to do that much detailing in the armor would drive me bonkers.
-
I use the same method to make capes...
Start with a curvy line across where the bottom of the cape would be and then draw the lines up to the shoulders. -
Those colors are wonderful!
I'd just watch a couple of the proportions next time... Like "the far forearm appears to be a bit larger than the near one" kinda thing.
>.>
<.<
...I miss that kind of stuff on my pieces all the time.
...But that cape, especially, is eighteen different types of awesome. -
I really like that you incorporated the background into it... Perspective and all.
You definitely have the idea of depth figured out, just keep practicing practicing practicing... -
She's mentally undressing the winners with her eraser...

...What?
I would be.
