Some of you will know of me, and my rather excessive badge-hunting. I don't have anywhere near the top count, but I get every badge - including special events - on every alt... or at least the 8 alts I'm keeping... SO.. TFs = fotw!

Yes, you heard me right. Every weekend I am running at least 1 TF, probably 2, maybe more . This will last well into the new year.

First TF will be for my Empath - Diamond Mask, lvl 41. (I have Fly, TP and Recall Friend, as well as the usual green pills)

Objective: Total Annihilation!.. errr. that is... we're arresting.. politely, mind you, the villains.. err.. that is... the obviously misunderstood individuals.

Then there's Hess or Moonfire on my Blaster as well.. Let's see, which other TFs can we do... mmmm If I get my emp to 39, we could do Eden? That's only a level and a half, iirc...

Firstly, I'm posting this here and not under General Discussion, because I only play on Union.

As the title suggests, that epic read Noir :P is returning. You will now once more be able to follow the exploits of your favourite (or not) Unionite! hehe... anyway...

Synopsis: err.. I'm back

Story Background (read 'the Incredibly long version'):
This is for those who know me. I'm lazy, so I'm posting this here, where I only need to say it once. You all know about my cross-Atlantic exploits. Well, subsequent to moving to the UK from South Africa, I was sans PC or conn. It took considerably longer than I had hoped to find employment (To be far, I was being a liitle choosy), and while I was out a-hunting, I managed on several occassions to 'return'. These were not 'the real thing'. Think of them as features in another heroes comic series - Cameo appearances. Now, however, I am gainfully employeed, have acquired my very own internet connection, and my PC is the in the mail.

Or is it considerably harder for CoV players to earn their Accolades than for CoH?

Born in Battle being a classic example of this, even with the chnge proposed in an upcoming patch. I mean, my Regen Scrapper doesn't even have Unbreakable (4th damage badge) yet... after 900+ hours of gameplay since the inception of i4, and most of it with me having a very noticable Tanker complex. I can only imagine the amount of time my +def-based Stalker would have to put in to "earn" the badge properly... and a well-played Corruptor? or an MM??

The villain side of the boards have always been relatively quiet, in comparison with the heroes side. Possibly because most people spend more time in CoH, or use their VGs more than heroes do their SGs for help, or just post general Co* stuff on the heroes thread by default - from habit.

I think I must redo these respecs myself when I return. I keep seeing comments or posts about how people struggle, and yet I did both of mine first time, quite easily. Perhaps I discovered some trick to it accidently, that I may pass on, once I figure out what it actually is, or they've become harder. In which case, I'd like to confirm this before I try them with alts.

I'm not. I like to touch base every now and then. Keep as much in the loop as possible. I don't want to be a stranger in a strange land when I can start playing again.

I did manage to log in a couple of days ago for the new badges, and to just say hi to everyone - well, whoever was online, at least.

Who cares about Torrent and Life Drain? TT and Night Fall for the win ! Although all 4 of these powers come from the Dark primary for corruptors, not the secondary.


My personal experience in CoV, Tech, includes Doms (Ice/Fire) and Corruptors (Dark/Dark). I've found both ATs to be immense fun for quite different reasons. Both ATs solo and team very well, imo. Doms *are* aggro magnets, to be sure, but an experienced player like yourself should find this of little bother. Personally, I find it makes the AT more interesting. My corr deals out more dmg consistently than my dom, and the scourge inherent is sweet, but the domination inherent is just sick, and more intoxicating than fury on Brutes - for me, at least. I always manage to get the power up at least once per mission. Twice on small teams or solo. Having teamed with SB back in the day, and Tech more recently, I can see you enjoying either AT. Try them both if you're unsure.

As for power selections: The only Dom powers I'm familiar with are Ice and Plants (only because there are soo many of them). I personally don't like plants much, but it *is* effective, and capitalises on the Dom AT's strengths. Ice is fun and quick. Your end runs out quite fast, less because of the power costs, I think, than the rate at which you can use them. My primary helps out there, since it's fairly cheap on end.

Corruptors: I've only played my Dark/Dark (much like a D3, only more offensive - the way I've always felt a D3 should play - almost Blastery), but I've been in many teams with /Thermals and /Colds, and the buffs/ debuffs from both sets are awesome. The heals are solid in Therm, but have long recharges: the buffs are where the money is. Cold has some effective buffs as well, but I feel the set is bigger on the debuffs.

For the actual power selections, and well they work, you can check out the Troller powers for Doms. I like to reference the guides on the US servers as well. There's a really solid guide to all the Dom sets, and how well the various primaries work the secondaries here

To those who know me: I have successfully invaded the Bitish Isles. It's bloody cold, but I do not expect that to impede the conquering and pillaging in any way

I've obviously managed to re-establish communications, but my presence on the Isles and in Paragon must needs remain hidden a while yet (read I'm on the fourms but that's as good as it gets for now )

To those who know me: I have arrived safely in England. It's bloody cold, but I do not expect this to keep me off the streets.

I've obviously made it onto the forums, but I will not be online for a while yet, I think - as advertised.

I will, of course, be there with some shadowy goodness, although this will be the last one I can attend, MBar Flying outcountry on Tuesday, and no idea when I'll be back on CoX again.

P.S: Historically, 13 started out as a lucky number. Not that it matters now, eh?
