Thar be my build. I'm not going to get ALL of those enhancements, as I simply won't have the money. Ever. But It's a build to work towards, and I will get the recharge I require at some point. I'll not be overly fussy about enhancement levels, just as long as I get good bonuses. I'll start with the cheap ones too.
Any flaws in this build? (And no, I want to keep my fighting! ) -
Ah, I guess I went a bit overkill on global recharge perhaps? Mine has 63.8%, but you get on fine with 48.8%? Interesting, I'll sort out a bit of a simpler build recharge-wise (Hopefully cheaper too)

Each one of those IOs beyond the third adds around 6% recharge, which is the equivalent of one of those set bonuses. I definitely need those in IW, guess it's not as essential in hasten.

I've moved those slots out anyway, 'cos I calculated that I'll have enough +rech for it with 2 siphon speeds.

(I have tough+weave atm and frankly it is handy, though in my current playstyle I don't tend to flashfire much. I guess I could adapt to using it every spawn, but the animation irritates me. I can't imagine the boredom of Flashfire followed by Psi Tornado...) -

No, I want perma-hasten so I can keep my recharge constant, so I always get its 70% recharge buff, so I can keep mez protection up perma. -

I certainly wouldnt 6 slot hasten, slots are tight as it is on a fire/kin anyway, and in terms of recharge you are only saving like 6 seconds with the extra 3 slots. Not worth it imop.

Regarding Fire epic, I need mez protection!
Transference, well, I found this fine recharge wise, 10 secs is plenty, for half my end.
Tactics: Okay, I'll HO that.
Anyways, where do I pull slots from for transference, if it needs it? -
All defenders should be good on teams, if you pick the right power choice. Unfortunately, alot of people are only out for heals, and so want empaths, but what can you do? It's possible to get good teams anyway with most sets.
For soloing, good primaries are Dark, Kin, Rad and maybe storm.
Most secondaries are OK, but for damage you'd be good going for sonic, psi or rad. -
So, freespec comes out today! And now, after a vetspec, 2 freespecs(I think) and 3 trial respecs, I can finally respec Burn again!
Now, I thought I'd come to the thought pool that is the forums to have a brainstorm about what sort of build to go for.
It has to have(In order of want):
-PvE farming effectiveness (My basic criteria, for easy mobs like family )
-Good effectiveness against carnies (Because they drop magic salvage)
-LOTS OF ORANGE NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!11!111oneon1111!!11!onethree
I would like it:
-To have mez protection. I don't like going power hungry on a mission with council or something, and then going onto carnies and getting held first thing. This makes it look like Psi is gunna be the epic.
-To be durable. On my current build, I have tough, weave, cj, rock armour and Earth's Embrace. Very hardy. However, if some of that has to be sacrificed, so be it.
-To be cheap. My main priority is to get perma mez protection though, which will require alot of money. However, being already 50 with fire/kin, I think I can rack it up quite well.

Thanks for the comments back guys, think I might roll one up and give it a go! I have an Ill/Sonic troller already and he can stand up fairly easily in team PvP but it'll be nice to see how the buffs from FF differ from Sonic

Any powerset that both controllers and defenders get are better used on controllers. I know there'll probably come some defenders crying here about better better percentages but I'd take control over better percentages and pitiful damage any day.

I think it's waaay better for defenders, reason being that defenders can cap def (with maneuvers). This is vastly different to what controllers can do. -
MvdP, IMO Defence is always better than resistance. After all, it can cover more damage types, AND if a mezzing attack misses, it doesn't mez! (Plus defence stacks really well, and I have Rock Armour stacked with CJ, Weave and smoke for uber defence!)
