Here we go. For Mrs_Emma_Peel:
Gravastar
This is actually the third version I went through. Finally got the pose right on this one.
Right, Speedster's up next. -
Emma_Peel, your drawing is *finally* done. It'll be up tomorrow.
Speedster is next, then whiteperegrine. -
Thanks a ton for posting this, had a tip I needed for an upcoming pic.
-
I'm up for it. Hell, I'll even ink and color it. Would this be one person or a group?
-
Errrrr...everything guitar in there is by me EXCEPT the very last part of the first solo, which was way too fast for me. That part is the song playing, as I didn't bother filling it with any of my own riffs.
I still think the end product's okay. I'd rather make songs in the future that I know I can do beginning to end. -
I guess he doesn't have worms, Star.
Too bad. -
-
Okay, crappiness aside, at least I have the Nintendo conferences to look forward to on Thursday.
I'm going to make a recording of Bark at the Moon anyway because I feel I should at least show you guys. I'll probably leave out the two parts I biff on.
Drawing queue is as follows:
1. Mrs_Emma_Peel
2. Striking_Speedy
3. whiteperegrine
I'm always accepting new requests for free. -
I think the Vicious Circle needs more recognition. It doesn't have the oomph the other one does.
-
That audition went great.
Sitting doesn't = standing so half the song was foreign to me, I choked on the fast solo parts like I thought I would, and the emo kid who played two chords the whole song and did *not* have an on-key singing voice got more applause than me. He got little. I got none.
Blah. I'd rather produce crap at home. That way I can edit it. -
<Starting artist prod>
Yeah, but he could do better than that if he worked at it.
</Starting artist prod> -
So..frigging close...just need to perfect the solos. >_<
-
You're telling me that for that pic you used MS Paint, another program, and your mouse?
Jeeeeeez. That's like me trying to play Eruption by Van Halen on a piece of dental floss. -
It looks kinda blurry, IMO. Is there a higher res version?
-
Check out Help --> Tutorials. Some good beginning stuff in there.
-
Not bad for a first-timer, eh?
My brain's kinda mushy today from practicing BatM all day. Same plan tomorrow. All I need now is to get the solos down. I'll hopefully be able to record a version for you guys tomorrow. -
You're using a pc tablet and Photoshop for this?
Jeez, you caught on quick with this. >_< -
Been messing around in Poser:
Check it out. -
Actually, the way the drawing is, the horizon line would have to go at his right kneecap. You're looking at him dead-on, and the only way to be looking from above is to change the character's image.

Thanks, Pep.
To all you rockers, musicians, and guitar-shredders out there, you'll probably love this: www.guitarshredshow.com
Be sure to check out the jam on that site. Really fun stuff.
*Goes back to practicing BatM on Fender* Gonna need it for Tuesday. -
Syrus, would you mind if I used TA's kid sister for a pic?

A regular Pentel .5 mechanical pencil with .5 lead. Sometime use Derwent series sketch pencils, depending on whether I'm going to shade the piece or not.
Erasers I'm unsure about, I just use the ones that twist out of the mechanical pencil. Can never get enough of those. I have an Artgum block, but I wouldn't recommend it as I rarely use it. I should probably get a kneaded eraser.
Any paper works for me. It's usually plain sketchpad paper.
Getting a small wooden manikin you can pose should help a bit. They don't pose fully, but they helped me learn human proportions early on, and help with some miscellaneous angle work.
Grab a ruler for the more complicated stuff that requires straight lines, too.
