Why in the world does anyone think that this game will vanish? Seriously. It's still got no competition - and won't for at LEAST another full year.

It's a solid successful game, it's got plenty of funds and people being put into it, and note well that other games NC has tried to produce HAVE failed. They know perfectly well that this game has a good solid player base- a base actually willing to try out their other games, and remaining less impressed with those others, come back to this one.

Well, I've got the test server on MY hd. heheh.

But, I've also got plentiful characters on all servers. Just name the time and place. Zekiran exists on Protector (albeit on a 2nd account which... d'oh, expired today... feh) but Retail Retali8r is also there; Zekiran Immortal is on Liberty, and I think I have another Zekiran on Virtue from Rowr's wedding. Other than that I have plenty of alts.


Or - people should just open up their COHfaces link, and put up themselves/a screenie. I'm there.

Well the Witch/Dragon combo isn't that hard, as long as you have some wing options available to you. The other, if you've got the cyborg pack would be much easier to do, because you can pick and choose some very interesting combinations. The face plate is what makes it for me, it looks... allllmost human, but so freaky.

If you buy the time *during this promotion*, you get the extra months. If your time is already bought before or after, you're not getting anything extra.

However, they didn't really adequately answer my question at NC help, about whether it will force me to cancel or rebill my account... :/ I *have* the money in my paypal account right now, but not on my visa. I suppose I should just bite the bullet and send the paypal out and in another 14 or 16 months (since it rebills in april now anyway) deal with it then...

With the sole exception of I13, everything has been extraordinarily stable. This release was rocky, that's true. But the past I think you may be glossing over. It's hardly "worse" - there's a great post down in the General area I think that shows what all we HAVE now that folks who want to reminisce about the "old days" (and believe me I was there) ... it wasn't great. It wasn't better. It was slightly more stable several months ago, but they wanted this release out so that the devs *gasp* might be able to actually take vacations and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The game's far better today than it was 1, 2 or 3 years ago. Everything is pretty much "moar". My one caveat is... Hami... but let's not go into that...

Well, see that's NOT what the "can I use paypal to add time to my account" page on their help site says. It says exactly the opposite, actually, which is why I'm a bit confused.

I have added time on a 3-month basis to a NON-visa-recurring account, but not to this one. However adding 60-day time card amounts just push the yearly billing down the line.

Just because I'm lazy and didn't want to click too many times on my account info...

Can I use my Paypal acc't for this without 'changing' my billing system if I've already got yearly billing with my credit card?

Definitely, I appreciate having a real live GM to ask stuff directly.

My suggestions for future columns would regard:

How much research should we the players, expect you the GM's to use, when deciding a petitionable offence (such as but not just, name offenses)? What should we be prepared to offer a GM if we're asked for more information, versus what are things we should trust you've already got on hand?

On another note:

The OZ base! OH my goodness gracious what a gorgeous base, and a great theme!

There are A3 size scanners available on ebay for less than 150$ which is awesome. Depends on what quality you need. If you've got actual great-quality inked pieces that you have a large number of, save up and buy a big scanner.

Poser figures are usually found on forums, made by fans, and sometimes are quite expensive, that's some of the downside of the program. All the really "great" poser accessories - which include animals, skins, clothing, different models, etc - those cost extra and are not made by the original company.

Poser was originally meant as exactly what it says it is: a maquette program that artists could use to model from, without having a real person or one of those odd little wooden doll things. It took off on its own, but remember one extremely important thing:

POST PRODUCTION.

Poser is *not* a fully functional "ooh look at the pretty landscape with figures" program. It has serious lighting flaws in older versions (corrected mostly in the newer ones, but still you can always tell a poser image by its lighting quality) but also in joints, angles of clothing drapery and the like. without proper post-production and alteration, smoothing and such, everything will still look just like Poser...

Depending on what you want to use it for PSP 8 is ideal for most web-based artwork. It's an easily used, extremely inexpensive program - especially considering Photoshop can run upwards of 600$ you can find a copy of PSP 8 on ebay for about 20-30$.

However, it - and photoshop and other programs which you generally scan and import images to alter/color - relies upon your own ability to draw and create outside the program. It can work with a tablet, though I suspect photoshop does that better.

In other words, Poser works if you don't draw particularly well or have less ability to scan things; photoshop or paintshop will both work to help modify the renderings. Manga Studio is apparently pretty good, a friend of mine is using it to show off a comic he's doing in poser as well, and it looks really nice.

Yeah I was wondering about that. Since they already have the code in place for the combat auras, I really think they should redo these to fit that one too. It's hardly fair on people who are lower level but work just as hard to get the candy cane rewards.

Winter's True Spirit got the nice halo, though I wanted it on another costume, you can't have a halo and a body aura at the same time

Her companion Trickster's Jackalope got the naughty halo, but only because he's never quite learned to control his fire all that well. It does improve his 'bad boy' image though.

I don't even know if I have any other characters who need a halo.

That what the huh picture is awesome. I still need to get off my duff and make my debut in here somewhere...

Yup.

When they tested this new Chalet feature it was before Halloween I think. And, very brief. But it is a LOT of fun, you'll be surprised.
