I'm so not apologizing for getting it in your eye.

You so owe me a kickback for sending out those pics you bought from me.

Ahhh now we finally get to what I think are your true intentions. Griefing. You appear to get no fun out of the game except when there is the potential for you to go slag someone elses work, read Base, IOP gathering effots. All is clear now.

Interaction with something other than a pre-programmed, reluctant to adapt AI system could also be considered a challenge. Pro Zack knows how much hard work it takes to farm prestige and, knowing him, I highly doubt he really cares about obliterating another base or having the same done to his. The consequence I would assume he's referring to would be the possibility of losing in PvP and, potentially, losing an IoP.
Griefing forum trolls, sheesh. -
That name has a nice ring to it...

ROFL!
After running a multitude of CoP trials over the last, what, eight or nine months and reducing it down to orchestrated science, I was heartbroken to learn that the biggest thing our entire SG was looking for from Issue 7 was being denied us due to irregularities in some GD inter-spacial frequencies. I want my Borg Cube, dammit. -

Perhaps the fact that Null's suit functions the way it does made it the perfect alpha model for Positron's work.
[/ QUOTE ]
Technically speaking, Ray designed Null's suit. They have a bit of banter during their first battle that goes something like this:
Positron - "So, you corrected that dorsal vulnerability"
Null - "A flaw in the original design!"
Positron - "Yeah, but who was the project manager who signed off on that particular set of compromises?"
Null - "Fortunately, I am no longer concerned with petty budgetary limitations."
Ray worked for Bein aka Null, and built the prototype which Null is now locked into due to the usual sorts of mad scientist shenanigans that power mad people like Bein get into when they're left unsupervised.
The upshot being that you're correct, in a sense. Ray DID base his suit(s) off of Null's suit but only because both suits are his work.
On a tangential note, it seems that the big difference between the two suits is the user interface. When Positron offers to try and help Null get free of the armor, Dr. Null replies "I prefer not to risk having my spinal cord severed." Null's armor apparently uses some sort of direct neurological interface. He's in the same position as Doc Ock in _Spiderman 2_. The interface (so it appears) has become permanently welded to his neural system. Ray learns from Bein's mistake and uses some sort of retinal scanning input to control the Positron armor.

So... Posi designed/made(?) the suits; Null was trying to save money and used a sub-optimal spinal-clingy thinger; Null went power hungry in a similar, ironic fashion as to resemble Green Goblin or Doc Ock and got stuck in the suit by his spine?
But Posi knew a major flaw in the suit reproduction spec's and changed the spinal thingy?
That sound about right? -

Thank you, ma'am!
And thanks for watching the climactic maturation of two digitalized, female characters, Flamer?
Thanks also to Mars and those on RB Vent for those last couple levels.
And thanks to everyone I've beaten up on my way to fitty. ^^ -

Scrapper ranged attacks are slow, infrequent, and rare.

Throw Spines, Focus, Shockwave, Torrent, Laser Beam Eyes

Energy, Assault Rifle, Electricity, Sonic, Archery
Yeah, I'll take a large order of Scrapper to go with my team, thanks.
As repeatedly stated by numerous posters, "range = defense" is faulted logic. Not only can a Scrapper take the heat at range (check out a Spines or Claws with a couple ranged Epics), they can crit from range as well as throw out some fast, high damage attacks quickly. Try one of those sets I listed above for Blasters. The animation times leave a lot to be desired (especially when taking rooting into account). So the "rarely ranged Scrapper that sucks at it anyway" argument fizzles fairly quickly when a Spines/Regen/Body can deal out that kinda damage more safely than any Blaster from range with crits. -
Who asked you?! I liked it!

Wait... What's the point? *Playing* a comic book?
...
Yep. We're playing parts in a comic book. You've played this long because of what?
Huh?
You're having fun so far? Hrm... Give them a shot...
New aliens that make us even *more* comic book-y? *Gasp!* "That's not cool or game friendly! Lets bash it. I'm super enough and don't want to be any more super!" "Discrepancy in design"? Don't make me laugh! They're designing a comic for us to play, not *copying* a comic to play. Not a departure, but an imaginitive step forward (into a comic-y realm of a storyline).
*I* find your objections both "tenuous" and overly worried about something that HASN'T EVEN DEBUTED ON TEST. Truly, I'm sorry that I picked up on this thread. -
I'm w/EvGen_88 on this one. Just because you're a Kheldian character does *not* mean that you're limited to "only be an alien" (unless, of course, you limit yourself). People playing *any* origin can create a background, the game is (happily) open-ended. Sure, I've got my Paragon Protector look-a-like, but his story *builds* on the one that CoH provides. Using your imagination, success, fellowship and enjoyability are, IMO, the things that MMO's are built on.
