"That'd be Lanaruu. [censored] took out 2 mechs I had on loan last time I went up against him. Shocked me up something good while he was at it.
Me, I got dibs on Ruladek. I've stopped him four times, and I'm sick of him trying to break out and wreck everything. I've got a special present for him this time"
*Acanous fingered a small remote, three glowing buttons visable under a glass shield shone green, purple, and orange*
"So where is he at? I assume he's not in the same cavern if everyone's already up and about" -

What was the most amazing moment you had while playing the game?
That's so hard to say. First PvP kill? When I met my current supergroup? Discovering the teabag emote?

OK, I just have to ask out of morbid curiosity:
Did all of these things happen at the same time? -
((Hehe, no prob. But the poke was in-charactor ))
-
Acanous finished restoring his Negative energy fields, and walked through the remaining, cowering Rularuu like they weren't even there.
Where he walked, death followed, as though merely being near him brought pain to the minions of Rularuu.
"That sounds like quite a story, Kaega. Were you drunk at the time, or did that happen later?" -
"Three..Two..One.."
Acanous leaped from the entrance towards the rularuu, flipping in midair to land, facing the entrance, and right beside Faathim.
"So, Faathim, how ya been?"
The negative energy radiating from Acanous temporarilly drew the wrath of the Rularuu away from Faathim, and a sudden, violent barrage of psionic energy hit Ac like a freight train.
Struggling, he tried to stay on his feet for as long as possible, but it was just too much.
Within three seconds he was down, the mass of Rularuu swarming over his body.
From the darkness within his mind, Acanous could still make out the jeering rularuu around his body.
They chattered in unknown languages, but he was certain of the jist.
It's always the same. They always think they've won, just because they can bring me down...
He focused then, absorbing the very life essence of the Rularuu into himself, transmuting it with his raw purpose, and rising from the heap of Rularuu like some dark pheonix.
"Come on now boys, while they're still stunned from my display..." -
Acanous followed Bladewing into the Chantry, and grinned when he saw the Rularuu hugging Faathim.
"Don't worry guys, I've seen this sorta thing before. Faathim'll help us out so long as we bust him outta that living prison."
Looking back at the Blaster, Scrapper, and (Troller? what is Bang exactly?) Ac gave a wink and a nod. "Six second rule begins now." -
Taking advantage of the sudden rush of Rularuu toward some blue explosion, Acanous hopped the rest of the way to the entrance. Leaning on a wall, he tapped on his comm unit.
::Looks like I'm not buying the booze. I'll wait here till you're done with your fun, then we can find out what's really going on.::
(Acanous will follow the first person who goes inside) -

And does it seem to be the general consensus that people want more Lord Netharak?

Yarly. -
Staring at the Chantry from a small floating rock, Acanous began to appraise his situation.
*Huh. Propably a hundred or so Rularuu. Only have to cut a path, though, but dang I wish I could just go through the shields at any old point.*
He took a runing start at the gaseous vent that proved the only real access to the Chantry, positioning himself in midair to land directly in a group of rularuu.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything, fellas" he started, inverting his void shields and releasing the light trapped within[Soul Drain]
"But I just got back into town-" continued the white-hot corona, beginning a flurry of powerfull blows that sent a few minions to the great herafter [Shadow Maul]
"And I was wondering"
Taking a brutal onslaught of shards, energy bolts, and psionic blasts, he staggered a bit.
"Could any of you be so gracious"
Absorbing energy from the very aether, Acanous restored his body and energies within the protective cloak of his armour [Dark Regen, Dark Consumption]
Most of the Rularuu, barraged by the onslaught of negative energy and plasma-hot light, simply disintegrated on the spot, leaving two noble brutes and a wisp overlord.
"As to direct me to Faathim the Kind?"
Acanous put the brutes down with a swift punch and more potent uppercut [Shadow Punch, Smite] before turning on the Wisp.
Shocked at the sudden death of all it's minions, the Wisp turned to it's only available recourse, creating a bubble of extradimensional space, and sealing this new threat inside it.
"Why thank you, I do believe those directions will suffice!"
Now immune to most forms of attack, Acanous began a mad dash into the Chantry, ignoring any Rularuu or reflections in his wake. -
(Yeah, when ARE they gonna impliment Rularuu? I mean, there's pics of him, so they HAVE him built [at least graphically] and I'd like to raid him >.>
-
It took Acanous about 15 minutes of heavy leaping, avoiding observer patrols- to get near enough to the Chantry to see it's outline on a horizon.
A horizon, not The horizon, because there's really no up or down, or concentrated landmass in the Shard...
*Something's got the Rularuu realy amped up... more patrols than I'm used to, and in different areas...*
Musing on weather or not his communicator itself was broken, Acanous decided to give it one more go. Throwing caution to the winds, he flipped the channel from "Secure" to "Broadcast"
::If anybody's out there, this is the Awesoem Arcane Acanous, The Immortal. I'm heading to the Chantry, might need some help getting in. I'll wait 20 minutes for a reply before I try rushing the place on my own.::
Thinking about it while using a jet to boost his velocity, Acanous went back onto the channel, adding
::Oh, and if the Reflections have hacked this signal, I'm heading to the Chantry. Bring plenty of stufftokill, I'm having a bad day. :: -
From a CoX standpoint, someone in the mass might have had superpowers. Taking on the preacher solo might have been the only option.
From a real world standpoint, there's a couple of quotes from scripture, such as "Whenever you gather in prayer, I shall be there among you" that would mean said demon might end up getting spanked by GOD.
Authorverse, guess we'll have to wait on an answer -
There's actually a point of contention in the Lord's prayer, with two versions existing, one in the gospel of Matthew(6:9-13), and the other in Luke(11:2-4).
Yes I knew of the two versions before I went to Wikipedia to look up where they were.
Anyhow, I'll give you the version I was taught, as all the versions are similar.
"Our Father, Whom art in Heaven,Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory,
Forever and Ever,
Amen."

"O...Kay..."
Acanous felt a sense of unease creep up on him at the silence of the soldiers.
"Well, I'm gonna go find Faathim, he owes me a favour from way back. Much as I'd like to have a rematch with Lanaru, now's just not the time."
Acanous flipped a hidden switch on his back, and jets hidden in his armour blazed to life.
"You guys take care now!"
Acanous sprang upward, across the fields of floating rock towards the Chantry, the magical enchantment on his boots combined with the thrust of the rockets letting him cover over a mile in a single bound.
*Gotta get there before anything stupid starts happening...* -
See, this is why I build my villains VERY VILLAINOUS.
Like Evincar. He's a Zombie built by Arachnos technicians in the Web as a prelude to project FURY. He's got a magical redundant backup system as well as his computer-animated-dead-brain.
He enjoys walks in the park, while people run screaming from his minions, and dining out...of someone's skull. -
Methinks this wasn't blasphemous, it sounds rather canon, in fact.
I remember there's a passage somewhere that states that your anger shall never do right by God, so a demon tempting a priest into a murderous rage seems rather them-like.
Secondly, the demon diddn't *Quite* recite the lord's prayer properly. Although all the parts were there, it went over "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us" twice. I'm not sure if that would be ENOUGH of a loophole, but it IS a loophole.
As for the priest, I think you did a bang-up job on him. -
Impressed with the stunning display, Acanous hid his astonishment behind a well-crafted smirk.
"Nice job with those Rularuu, guys. Of course, I could've handled it"
He scanned thier uniforms, looking for some recognisable insignea.
"Who'se in command here, and how many survived?" -
*Takes his Props and equips it*
-
oh come on, where is everyone? I thought that up in like 5 minutes flat! I spent 5 more minutes typing it! look! Can't I get some props or something???
-
Yes. There's a magical portal that opens every year, near halloween, when the boundries between dimensions are at thier thinnest. A nightmare realm, one remembered in the hearts and minds of every child- has been waiting in the darkness for it's chance to strike into the mortal realm, and take back the world they were banished from milennia ago.
The wizard who banished them was not without compassion, however, and knew that they could not be contained forever, so he created a portal that would allow the wicked ones to return, providing they are truly repentant.
The Evil forces on earth (Mainly the CoT) discovered this, and found a way to connect the primal power of the Earth to the other dimension, opening the portal from THIS side, to bring them back regardless of their intentions.
To open the portal, one merely has to exert some force, normally kinetic (Knocking) on a wooden surface during all hallow's eve.
Heroes of Paragon discovered this phenomina, and MAGI consultants were brought in to help fight back.
Research into the portals found that only one can be opened at any point in time, and 60 hero patrols were organized to continuously knock on doors (Which are common wooden surfaces) once every minute, keeping the portals under hero control, thwarting the thorns, and preserving the lives of innocent children trick-or-treating, as well as any adults who might bang thier extremities on coffee tables... -
Storm Palace, Shadow Shard
Blinking his eyes to get accustomed to the red glow of the Shadow Shard, Acanous was taken by surprise as an arc of white-hot energy crashed into the portal behind him.
Turning, he saw his anchoring portal flicker, then disperse in a multi-hued implosion that would have been rather beautiful, in any other circumstance.
"Great. Now I'm stuck here."
Acanous palmed his communicator from a hidden pouch in his hood, trying to get a signal.
"Von Auger, Angus, Maya, anybody read?"
Acanous waited a few seconds before trying again, recieving nothing but static on his Supergroup channel.
"Langdon? Nova?"
he tapped the screen, hoping for a glitch, before switching to 'coalition'
"Hey, this is Acanous, can anybody read me out here?"
He put the comm up to his ear in case of a weak signal, and hope flooded through him as he heard something through the static. It wasn't loud, but it was something.
"Thank all things good and holy, I wasn't looking forward to having to walk home. Who can I thank for the save?"
Again, slightly louder, Acanous could make out a sound through the static.
H...ill..la...
"You're gonna have to speak up, I can't hear you."
Ear to the comm's speaker, he heard it again, louder, and not from the box, but behind him!
Hunt...Kill...Rularuu!
The impact of the crystal shards was far more painfull than normal, mainly because his fields weren't active, but partially out of surprise.
"Bloody- not these things again"
Acanous summoned up the energies that comprised his dark armour, literally stopping all light around him as he balled his fists.
"Now you've gone and done it, I hope you can run fast enough to give me some sport"
The Natterling, terrorized by the wash of negative energy through it's tiny mind, flew off, pursued hotly by a very angry scrapper.
"You run well, maybe after I'm done with you I'll take what's left so the Doc can clone it!"
He pursued the Natterling for almost a minute, taking his time to vent some frustration. Like a game, Acanous would let it zip away a ways, then clear the distance with a single leap, using his Touch of Fear to goad it further without killing it. After losing sight of the Natterling behind a large crystal, Acanous decided to end it.
Hurdling over the spire, he stopped cold as his prey swooped into a crowd of Rularuu and Shard Reflections.
"Well. Feck." -
So what sort of post rules are going to apply for this RP? I mean, not the standard PBP stated rules, but like, elapsed time, or number of posts before we can post again,
or like are we NPC'd while we're not there if there's something important going on? -
0930 Earth Standard Time
U.L.T.R.A. base 33, Paragon City, Rhode Island
Acanous ported into the reception area, an annoyed expression souring his face.
"What the frack could be so important that you woke me up, Von Auger?"
the intercom near the base entry portal crackled to life.
"Ve haff a zituation. Eet involves portals. You vill handle eet."
A mechanical arm detached itself from the ceiling, it's prongs holding a dossier in a vice grip.
The arm snaked down untill it was level with Acanous' head, then stopped, a small compartment opening up along it's side.
Acanous pressed his face into the compartment for retinal scanning, taking note of the new gun pressed to his head during the process.
::Retinal scanning complete. 100% Accuracy. Welcome to U.L.T.R.A., Acanous::
"What was in that gun? Lazers? Acid?"
The speaker crackled with the doctor's chuckling.
"you do not need to know. Vhat you DO need to know eez right zere."
The dossier deposited itself into Acanous' waiting hands. He opened it up and started skimming.
"This just looks like normal reports from Firebase Zulu. I don't know what the fack you think is so important about partical wave rates or quantum static...."
His eyes went wide as he reached the second page.
"I've gotta get to the Shadow Shard."
Acanous leaped through the door just irising open in front of him, his cape bathed in the purple glow of the Raid Teleporter he had been tinkering with for the last year.
He quickly entered his passcode into the Raid Computer, and looked bleakly at the display.
"Only one window in the entire shard, and it has to be in the bloody storm palace..."
Acanous touched a panel, stepped onto the telepad, and vanished, as an arc of lightning ripped from the portal, demolishing at least a million dollars of equiptment, as well as a solid year's work.
