    DB/WP help

Okay, re-did the slotting a bit. Not only does it now do (slightly) more damage (still BF -> AV -> PS, but more damage slotting), but I should also no longer need blues to be able to go at it for infinity. Now, I could move a slot from Tough or Weave to HPT and slot a Steadfast Protection: Knockback Protection, which would give me slightly higher drain and very slightly higher recovery, allowing me to JUST be able to go on forever without blues, but I'm not sure I want to risk that in case the Performance Shifters don't proc when they should.

    Anyways, how does it look?

I am well aware that CP doesn't work like an inspiration, but did the math and found out that the 90 seconds of CP would make my end. recovery greater than my end. drain (attack chain included), enough so that it would restore a bit over 100 endurance over that duration.

I'll take another look at my slotting later today, but basically I put the EndReds there to.. well, reduce the endurance consumption. Without them, I'll probably have to revise the build quite a bit again to be able to go on ad infinitum I'll take another look later today.

    DB/WP help

Yes, Werner, you are absolutely correct. In the middle of my multitasking, I managed to make 0.24 become 0.4.

Now with this build, I should be able to chain BF -> AV -> PS non-stop until I have 10 endurance left, pop Conserve Power and watch my endurance rise back to full, then chain 'em again. I'll be at the 10 endurance marker again 333 seconds after, meaning I have 15 seconds to wait for Conserve power to come back up. One small blue insp. should be enough to last me those 15 seconds easily, so that means as long as I have blues, I can infinitely do that chain. Right?

Also, BrandX: Where would I take out slots to slot my powers for more dmg?

    OH SHI-

I had no idea about the price on the Panacea, because I kept forgetting to check it at WW's in the middle of swapping between all my toons yesterday. What if I move one slot from Health to Fast Healing, and slot 4 Regenerative Tissues in Fast Healing (the proc from Health included)?

Excluding Performance Shifter procs, I've got 1.55 end/sec left for active powers after all my toggles, while the BF -> AV chain takes 3.85 end/sec, meaning there's a 2.3 end/sec total drain. Doing the math, once again assuming the procs WILL occur once every 50 seconds, I'll gain 0.8 extra end/sec, meaning the drain will now be 1.5 end/sec. If I haven't been thinking entirely wrong all this way, that means I'll be out of endurance after just 67 (rounding up to be nice ) seconds of chaining BF -> AV. Now, if I get rid of Strength of Will and get Physical Perfection instead, three-slotted with Performance Shifters (including the proc), I now have 1.9 end/sec left for active powers, or 3.1 with the procs. That's a drain of 0.75 end/sec, leaving me completely drained in 133 seconds. Now, the BF -> AV -> PS chain "only" takes 3.525 end/sec (because I can have an EndRed IO in BF instead of the Rech IO), leaving me with a 0.425 end/sec drain on the build with Physical perfection, or completely dry in 235 seconds.

Now, I don't know how long it takes to solo an AV, but it looks to me like I'm f*cked no matter what I do if I want to run both the Fighting and Leadership pools. Am I right, or is there something I've missed?

Edit: Just remembered Alpha slots! Would a Cardiac uncommon boost be able to solve this?

Don't worry about the long posts, I find them enjoyable ^^

How does this build look now? With 4 LotG: 7.5%, there's a 0.12 second gap in the Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals cycle, but that should be okay, right? Until I can get my hands on those four LotG's, I plan on using a regular EndRed IO in place of the Rech IO in Blinding Feint, and use BF -> AV -> PS instead. The end drain seems to be a bit high, draining more than double the amount of end I get per second (not counting Performance Shifter procs, I guess), without Sprint activated. Is this going to be a problem, or would the procs be enough to sustain me (assuming they proc once every 50 seconds)?

Sorry, badly phrased! By waiting time, I meant what attacks would I use to fill the time between each Attack Vitals combo when fighting an AV, until I get enough recharge to chain it? Also, since Blinding Feint is not needed for my combos (currently planning on using Attack Vitals and Sweep), I have not picked that attack. Is it a must-have for AV-pwning? Also, do you think I'm going to need Physical Perfection to be able to sustain my endurance during a solo AV-beating? I suppose I could drop Resurgence and Strength of Will for those two if needed.

Btw, looking at that build, I see you have picked Combat Jumping and Fly.. Missclick?

You didn't miss it, I edited it in, but before you finished posting, though.

I thought all Scrapper were soloing AVs It's practically all you hear about from lvl 50 Scrappers (or used to be, at least). Anyways, what should I fill the waiting time with, then?

Would you mind sharing your build, Eldorado?

Just a quick question: I can't for the life of me get enough recharge to chain the Attack Vitals combo seamlessly without Hasten. Any tips?

Also, with Frankenslotting alongside the Kinetic Combat sets, do you mean to put other partial sets, or just regular IOs (possibly HOs) with damage/recharge/whatever I need in the power?

First, may I just say "WOW!"? This was immensely helpful! I had no idea about these Alignment Merits. This changes everything! And here I was thinking I had to grind TFs day in and day out just to be able to buy a single Mako's Bite.

I'll be back tomorrow or something with a new build, hopefully!

Thanks to all three of you! I was not even aware there was a market forum here, I'll make sure to check it out when I have time.

450 Hero Merits, now THAT would have been awesome!

    DB/WP help

About the being able to solo an AV, I was really thinking more about the survivability. My main being a Blaster, I don't have much experiance slotting for survivability (not that I have much experiance with slotting at all ), but I figure this is pretty important for a Scrapper, especially one hoping to solo AVs.

I took another look at slotting last night, and figured out that the reason I had slotted with Crushing Impact, was because it was the only yellow lvl 50 melee dmg set. I checked out prices at WWs, and found that if I were to slot with Mako's Bite instead, I'd have to pay about 60 million inf. per set, for a total of 180 million just for those three powers. Then there's Multi-Strike, at about 20 million/set, which puts me at 240 million for the sets for my attacks. I have no idea what defensive sets and healing sets I would want, but I can imagine it's going to be expensive. I have about 450 merits across my toons, which would get me two Mako's Bite, or ten Multi-Strike. I don't think I have the patience to earn enough merits for all my needed sets, so something not too horrible expensive (less than half a billion) would be nice if possible and functional.

Didn't really mean for this to be a rant about money. My questions, really, are:
    1. Is Crushing Impact really that horrible? Is it worth it getting Mako's Bite?
    2. What defensive and healing sets do I want, and are there any cheaper, yet viable, alternatives to Gaussian for Tactics?
    3. If I don't really need Hasten, would it be a good idea to drop the Speed pool for the Leaping pool with CJ and SJ, and throw a Celerity: Stealth in Sprint instead for the stealth?
  11. The thought behind Lash over Corruption was that I was probably going to be in close range because of Crack Whip anyway, and that the KD of Lash, along with the higher damage, would probably be more useful then. Still, I swapped it out for Corruption in the build below, and changed Maneuvers at 35 to Hasten. Also swapped Darkest Night and Crack Whip to 22 and 24 respectively. How does this look now?

  12. I don't have much DEF besides Maneuvers, so I guess I'm not going to benefit all that much from it. Should I drop it for Hasten, then, or would Petrifying Gaze be a better choice to drop?

    DB/WP help

Wow, I had no idea I was THAT far off As I said, this is my first high level Scrapper, and only my second 50 in total, so I don't have that much experience.

I'm not really looking for any specific amount of damage, I'm just hoping to be able to slot so that I can solo AVs.

I most certainly don't want to go as far out as you have, seeing as I only have about 200 million inf. across all of my toons, meaning my budget is pretty tight (I suppose I'd be willing to spend all of it, if I have to). I just checked WW's, and realized how much I'm going to have to pay for a full Gaussian set, so looks like I won't be able to afford that either.

Do you think you could put together a build for me, one that I might be able to afford? I'm guessing my power choices weren't that bad, since you didn't comment on them? Or were they just not as horrible as the slotting?

Edit: I already have the Miracle: +Recovery, so that's not going to be a problem. Also have a Steadfast Protection: Res/Def, if that helps.

As my DB/WP Scrapper is nearing 50 (first Scrapper, second total), it's time to start thinking about slotting, and due to the now inherent Fitness pool, a respec. I've played around in Mids, and have come up with the following. Any comments would be greatly appreciated

  15. My Kat/SR build is pretty much the same as yours, Blondeshell, except I have the Speed pool instead of Flight, and Medicine instead of Teleportation+Stealth. I haven't gotten around to look at slotting yet, but I'm considering getting rid of FA in favor of CJ for a LotG mule when I do.

  17. Hi!

About a week ago, I decided to make a Demon Summoning Mastermind. "Now what secondaries would go with that?", I thought to myself. I'm more of a concept playing guy - I don't usually make any toons unless I have some kind of concept, that at least makes the powers fit together (ironically, my main makes no sense ). So I ended up with two choices: Dark Miasma and Thermal Radiation, out of which I chose Dark.

Now, at level 14, I'm wondering if that was a good choice. I find both my Demons and I are terribly squishy. I don't expect us to be tankers of any kind, but I find it a bit ridiculous that we're all pretty much three-shotted by mobs than con red.

I also seem to spend an awful lot of time waiting for powers to come back up, and I'm wondering if I'm going to be spending my whole MM career like this, or if it'll get better.

Was Dark a good choice for Demons, or would Thermal have been a better choice?
  18. Portal Smasher badge? Don't have that, and I think I'm available, so if you want, I can probably bring my Blaster. But if someone is more certain, I don't mind if you pick them instead of me
  19. We can sort it out on Sunday, I think - being leader just means more work :P
  20. Like I said, I can lead blue team if wanted/needed, or Scarlet can do it, I don't mind
  21. Xetrov Shockflame, level 50 Elec/Fire Blaster, reporting in for duty! I can go on either blue or green team, and should be able to lead if needed.

This time he will go down!
  22. You said you would move my Blaster to the green team, but you seem to have forgotten to do so ;P
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Are you sure? I swear I've seen Stalkers stay Hidden while charging their horribly long 8 second snipes.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's because they have a special stealth power called Hide, which does exactly that - let them stay hidden while charging their Assassin's attack.
  24. Due to my grandfather falling down the stairs and breaking his hip, I have only been able to play one night this week, and probably won't have time to play again before Saturday, so my Scrapper is sadly only level 43 by now, and there is no way I'll be able to get him to 50 by Sunday. Therefore I will have to give my space away (Vigorous Vindication, yellow team 2), but I can still be on the sub bench with my Blaster (Xetrov Shockflame) in case someone has to cancel.
Sorry about cancelling so late, but I had no other options...
  25. Xetrov

    [ QUOTE ]
literally all it takes is a simple tell of "interested in a team?" to which I reply sure (with a smiley face) or "No thanks but good luck"

    [/ QUOTE ]
This. I think people should have the courtesy to ask something as simple as "Hi, LFT?", which takes no more than 5 seconds to type, even if you're a slow typer. I also do think that if people take the time to ask you if you are interested in a team, you could take a few seconds to respond.

    [ QUOTE ]
If your looking for teams for something big, say a Taskforce, I recommend joining Sals Badgehunters on Union, unfortunately I don't know the badge hunter channel for Defiant but I'm sure someone can tell you.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Defiant Events and DefiantBadgers are very active chat channels if you are interested in TFs.
