I would like your guys thoughts on the letter I'm going to send. Here it is..


Dear Mr. Taek Jin Kim

Hello I am an loyal player of City of Heroes a game that has been in my life for eight years now. No I haven't been an active player due to financial issues and for that reason I've only been an active player for a little over three years combined. I bought the game and made an account when city of heroes was just starting out, I even have the comics to prove it. I am typing this letter to you to urge you to not take away a game that still has life and a breath to push forward. Paragon Studios has done an amazing job at bringing something worth paying for to the table. They strive to make the player experience one of a kind and it is. I don't know the real reason for dropping this game but it is a dishonor to a group of talented individuals that have worked hard to produce a profitable product that consumers would enjoy spending hard earned money and time to play.
I'll let you know that City of Heroes was the first and really the only MMORPG to capture and gain my interest, I remember finally being able to play the game after a year of two of owning it without a machine strong enough to play it. I started it up signed in and began to make Grave001 a fire/fire blaster. I played the game nearly nonstop playing through the storylines as my blaster I got him to about lvl 20 before my subscription ran out. Once back I continued to play as him changing his name to Jewelious and creating a back story for him this time I reached the cap level I put a lot of what I want to be into Jewelious. Recently I hopped back onto him and took a fly around remembering all the storylines I played through as him. This game that you are willing to throw away has a special place inside my heart. If you won't stop the game from being shut down at least allow someone else give City of Heroes a new beginning.
Furthermore due to this choice to drop City of Heroes I have reconsidered my planned purchase of Guild Wars 2 as I do not wish to support a publisher that would drop a game that is still doing well when they have other games that don't match the one they are dropping.

Writing was and still isn't my strongest quality.

All names of characters in quotes are my friends in game characters except for Jewelious who is my blaster. "GunPlay" is my friends former Malta member I don't remember if he had a Malta-esk codename in his bio. As this was a spur of the moment thing. I tried to proof read as much as I could. my Grammar is horrible. I'll probably do a better job when I convert it into a comic.

@Ravenswing, I'm an artist constructive criticism is a yay. as long as you don't go "This sucks" or troll I have no problem with any feedback. It is why I asked for it.

((OCC: Ok this is the full back story for my favorite tank Vabradium Force. Read only and give feedback please. At some point I'll do an actual comic and post it but until then I'll just write short stories.))

A few years ago an Advanced Robotics Engineer by the name of Professor Micheal Alister finsihed designing his opus in the form of a marvel of nano mesh technology. Nano mesh is a grouping of nano robots that are programed to do a specific task. In the case for Professor Alister he made a humanoid robot. It has taken Professor Alister years to get to this point. his life's work devoted to this one final creation. Early mornings and late nights, were the daily schedule for the Professor.

Professor Alister started with a schematic for his creation not knowing what to call it he labeled it Project: Defender as the nature of this mind child was to protect the people who's life he made easier though his years. Within the confines of his high rise Alister saw many people struggle against the villains that plague the beautiful streets of Steel Canyon. With in his heart he wished he could save them but all he could do is focus on his work. And work he did, he worked with many other minds to create wonders that made everyday life simpler. Now he uses his knowledge to form the skeleton of Project: Defender. Nano mesh programed to be dense, study, and light weight surpassing the human bone on every front. Encased in it's skull a super computer wrapped in and infused with Nano mesh acting like a brain that will be programed with the a revolutionary artificial intelligence that has the ability to think, feel, learn, and operate like a human.

The news shows the Skull and Hellion gang war updates fifteen people injured, one person dead. Taking the work of two eight man hero teams and a hand full of cops to get the scene under control. Alister's face frowning in a grimes adding more wrinkles to and aged face. Finishing his coffee the Professor enters his lab to work. With the skeleton complete Alister forms muscle, tendons, and needed organs like the heart, eyes, nervous system, and two lunge shaped power cells. Project: Defender is taking shape and months pass and each part is installed with great care bonded to parts as each set of nano mesh communicates with one another.

On the way home from the store Alister witnessed a small group of young heroes fending off a group of freaks he thinks their names were "Vice" and "Versea" twin tanks distracting the group of freaks while "Jewelious" with flames licking off his hand trows a ball of fire at one of the stray freak stopping him dead in his tracks along with the fire he throw the line "No runners today Freak." "Blood Maze" enters the frame shield first which knocked most of the Freaks that were surrounding "Vice" and "Versea" This gave Alister a grand idea. When he got home Professor Alister went straight to his lab and began making a shield system for Project: Defender, the program allowed Project: Defender to form or utilize any shield to protect it's self and any citizens that needed cover.

A new day and work as usual for Alister. Forming Nano mesh skin as tough as any metal in the known universe. The adaptive Nano mesh stays a dull gray waiting to be activated by the A.I. when activated the Nano mesh can change to the will of the A.I. in color, texture, and shape. All of the Nano mesh components can change size and shape to suit the A.I. With the skin and bones taken care of Alister thought about a complementing offensive power to his creations defense. Like a higher power was looking down on him the radio he station he was listening to changed to a speech given by "Statesman" he knew instantly that super strength was the answer. With his shield system he plugged it and the newly developed strength enhancement program into the basic structure of the A.I.

Waking up a bit later than he wished no doubt to the late night he put into programing the framework for the A.I. Alister continued to trudge ahead. Implanting many firewalls to safe guard the data within the A.I. Professor Alister developed the Algorithms to give this Project a human mind. Writing key codes to install a sense of right and wrong and the need to protect the weak, also a full knowledge and history of his creator. Professor Alister spent days and many long nights writing every line of code for this unique A.I. The great Professor Completed the A.I. installing it into the super computer stored within the skull of the piece of robotic art. Waiting with a mixture of anxiety and glee Alister watched as the status bar of the installation process crept small chunk by small chunk. At ninety-five percent a call came to his phone. Answering it Alister's face went from a look of happiness to terror. The status bar reading ninety-eight percent. A pounding came from Professors door. The sound of the down being kicked in Micheal digs through his desk for his hand gun. Finding it Alister types a message for his creation "When you read this know that you will are named "Vibradium Force" as the ring of it fills my mind with an image of valor. My master piece Vibradium force do me proud and protect the people of this beautiful city." Alister backed up against his creation holding his gun out before him. The door to his lab ticked open and men in black military uniforms walked in. A man with a western hat and rag over his mouth stepped in "Professor Micheal Alister. I is a honor to meet you. Look at that wondrous marvel behind you. You have really out did yourself." The tone in his voice sends chills down Alister's spin shakily Alister speaks "Y-you have n-no right to be here. Y-you Malta Scum!" From under the hat a chuckle rang out, Ice cubes rolled down Alister's back again beads of sweat began to collect and roll down into the wrinkles of his face. The voice of the man rang out again "I am agent "GunPlay" I am here to bring you and your robot back to our leader dead or alive." "Y-you will not have my opus!" Alister squeezed the tiger of his gun a bullet raced at "GunPlay" only to be evaded. With lighting speed "GunPlay pulled his gun and quickly shot Alister dead. The installation status bar one hundred percent. Project: Defender now known as Vidradium Force eyes open glowing. Looking down at the blood that painted his metal skin he leaned forward seeing Alister dead he looked up at the group that caused his fathers death. vibradium opened his mouth and a digital scream erupted from it. His skin turned a dark orange and crimson red. "GunPlay" fired multiple rounds into his chest. With super speed Vibardium was feet in front of "GunPlay" A large gleaming fist hurling into the chest of the Malta agent sending him flying through the wall. Two other operatives attacked Vibradium both meeting worse fates than "GunPlay" as he was able to teliport mid air away from the area. Five other operatives in total and one hover turret lay on the ground broken.

Vibradium turned to Alister walking over to him he knelt down to close his eyes, somehow knowing that was the right thing to do. Before standing it found his voice "Creator, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I'll enact your will Professor Micheal Alister." He stood and began to walk out the computer screen catching his glowing eye he stopped and looked at it. He read what the Professor left for him "I am Vibradium Force and this Paragon City and it's innocent citizens will be protected. Just as you have programed me for." Attaching the mark one shield generator to his left forearm Vibradium Force left Professor Micheal Alister's home to began his programing.

Vibradium Force now much stronger and wiser still protects the city from the villains that wish to harm it. And with the help of the Well of the Furies protect Earth.

I would also pay a bit for a set like that Stone. I'd just like to have NCsoft or Paragon studios to make custom swag so it'll go back into the game.

The thin part is pixelization do to resolution if you upped the res it would solve the that problem. That reply gose back to haveing a separate texturing/modeling program would also solve the issue.

Yeah I could put my work on a shirt but I'd have to get a airbrushing kit and such or pay outragus amounts of cash to get my work on a shirt.

Lego version of CoX player characters would be awesome.

Good point the character models of CoX aren't as detailed as the rockband one's... but a 3d modeling program tweeked to improve the detail of the CoX base like more defind fingers and what not shouldn't be to hard to come buy. Namly when it comes to making money off it. I send the Idea to Posi just to get some feed back from a Dev really just for a my own thought process to see what kinda strings would have to be implamented on the companies side. Another Idea would to have a separate program that is loaded with the same costume options as the game and you can inport the costume file of the character you wish to have made into a statue and useing a directory like system that matches the parts used in game with the parts in the program to render a better model to be printed. I did the gandering and from what I can tell the 3d printers program is able to red files from good number of other programs and I've seen it make a niffty statue of a nude.

Once my skill develops I'm going to be selling paintings ands and other artistic renderings of CoX toons just because I love the game. I would just like to have some swag like a poster or T'shirt with my Character(s) on it.. I think it would be awesome way to show my pride for the game.

Me thinking that KM is slow is just experence of not being able to do something to save my bum like pop a green or click the get more HP power. I originally posted this when I was in the new zone witch is really tough. Found that out with me Fire-Stone tank. So it could just be that while the animation is doing it's think I want to pop a green and can't, this mostly happens while streaming powers together, but I like my KM/Invu Brute he is fun to play even more so now that I have some awesome IOs on him.

What's up fellow Heroes and Villains

I am here to propose the idea of costume swag, not sure if this has been brought up and I don't care if it has. My Idea is based off the same kind of swag you get from Rockband. This Rockband costume swag has your character on T' shirts, posters and you can get a small statue of your guy in a few poses holding your preferred instrument. I've been teetering on this for a while now and now that I've found a 3D printer on the web I decided it would be the right time to post this. As a community I think we can provide are guys at Paragon Studio's some extra income buy buying costume swag. Making shirts and posters with the City of (place game) on it would be a way to advertise as well show your pride as a gamer in our community. I my self would rather pay Paragon Studio's or 70 or so bucks for a statue of one of my lvl 50's then get one of my RockBand character. I spend hours on my characters costumes and would be proud to show them off.

Although this post sounds like a marketing campaign I wanted to post it to see what my fellow CoX people thought of this idea. I my self wish I could improve my skills to start making paintings and sketches for the players that make up the community, but I'm not skilled enough yet.

My KM/INvu Brute isn't bad now that I IOed the hell out of his defence but pre-IOing I would die while animation was playing. I have the Heal power of INvu ready to go and bout time the animation is done I'm dead and I didn't even do damage to the baddie. But now that it is harder for the guys to kill me I'm mercen, also I don't even use power syphon.

Well. alrighty then... hmmm.. yeah I didn't win anything... the only prizes that would have mattered to me are the top ones any way... don't matter any more huh lol.

Hey fellow CoXers I thought I'd just make a tread to talk to other players and hold some friendly conversations about stuff.

I entered that MMORPG sweepstakes thing... I dought I'll even win the lower prizes but hey I won't know till 9ish. I would love that gaming mouse to the graphics card.

I hope the next hero con is close to cincy because I'd love to go. I'd love to meet the people behind my favorite game, share my thoughts and idea's in person.

This was just my piliminary feeling about KM threw the eyes of my stalker that was way squishy.... now that my brute is out of the new zones I'm mercing mobs and not dieing as much. I'll try a KM stalker again hopeing I have better luck this time around.

My consern is the finding a bag that isn't crazy priced to fit it. Thats why I didn't put the in house bag in with the dell. I'm not a fan of dells but I am a fan of alienware. I havn't played much with HP so this could be my chance. I do like the features with the newegg (I love newegg) and this is a on the go gamer laptop for me. I have a gaming desktop that is a buget build and plays CoX smoothly at recomended and thats good enough for me.

I'll enjoy the extra to inches but finding a carrying case is going to be a *****. after looking at it he Envy is sexy but not as sexy as the alien where. for HP to be a contender to alienware visual personalization is key, which HP dose not have. I'll have to give it some thought wait a while see what holiday sales come up cause I'm not getting it till my birth day (Dec 23) yeah I have to compete wih Jesus ain't that some ****.

No I have the 5850 chosen the link refreshes it (witch I didn't know)

so really the only up side to getting the Envy at the moment is more hard drive and ram if I were to get the envy the only one that you make it worth it is the base modle. to upgrade something would make it more expencive then the M15x I have built (only hing upgraded is the graphics to the 5850)

That may be my issue... I don't have all the vet powers only sands of mu. so once I get those extras maybe I'll fair better cause I was able o wistand the ambuses of just once I got into mobs I finish the big guy and the minons take me out.

Partablity is key becasue I'm taking this to school with me so I have somehing to do while I'm there and to help in my info tech classes.

I'm diggin my Brute but I started with a stalker thinking it would suite it better like Soulwind says but thee whites in a mob and I'm almost done in when I had the KM/WP I'll find out if it is just my luck or the raised deff of Preatoria that made my stalker squishy. as I have a stalker set up I think its NS/regen.... not sure been a while... I've been palying my DP/EM blaster witch so far I'm having no issues with...

ok... you tell me how that envy work cus right now for only an extra 100 bucks I can get the no need to go into detail about the awesome look alienware 15x with better i7 same graphics chip, bu less hard drive which is no biggy cuz I use my external hard drive which is huge. so if it perfoms well I'll save the hundred bucks and get the envy if you still have the issues I'm getting the alieanware.

It's prolly just me... I not a melee person anyway... I love my blasters... DP is the bomb. two shoting same level foes is awesome. I love the look of it... I'll try the willpower kin tank... more hitpoints... might not de as fast. I love the stalker concept being all ninja... they jus can't take a punch I guess. Bt this all could be my horible luck.... nah... can't be that.

I was trying to solo protean... I've done it before. but it was wih my MM. With my other toons it is inposible to solo him...

My stalker was a KM/WP(I got killed by easy people, gave me the what the hell moments)... I couldn't solo maltiple missions in my stalker because I wasn't able to take out the enemy before the took me out. I'm no sure if it is cause I was useing Willpower or what. I was able to solo all of pretoria with my KM/Invun brute, but I had a lot of trouble in some of the missions. it just seemed to take a long time to get through the missions...

Not sure if it is cause Preatoria is harder on the lowbie or what but it was just a pain to solo.I ended up skipping a the mission where you go in to find the meeting place for the destroiers and Resistance because I just coudn't survived that endless amount of Blastmasters they were throwing at me solo... I'm sure if I teamed with someone it would be no problem... but the only time I team as lowbie is when I have 20 days to hit 50. so I can unlock epic archs.
