Launcher no longer works

I hope someone can help me. All of a sudden, the laucher 'encounters an error ' and will not launch. I uninstalled it, then did a fresh install...no luck. Is there a way to bypass it and just go right to the game the old way...perhaps an addition to the command line? I wanted to go play with one of my lowbies but don't know what to do. This is the biggest problem I ever had in the game. Any suggestions? I want to be there when the lights go out.

When does it encounter the error? When starting up the launcher, or when starting up CoH?

update....
I was getting the error when I hit the launcher icon. BUT, now it is working fine. I have no idea why, but maybe one of the actions I took corrected the problem. I went into settings and saw this....does anyone know what it does?
(Thank you so much, Tim, for answering so quickly!

Think of it this way:

NORMAL LOG:
"Launcher starts"
"Game starts"
"Launcher closes"

ADVANCED LOG:
"Launcher starts"
"Dump system info into logfile"
"DLL A loaded"
"DLL B loaded"
"DLL C failed to load"
"App crash due to failure to load DLL C"

Not saying it works EXACTLY that way but...

Hyper, thanks for helping feed my inquiring mind, and thank you for all the help you've given us all for so long....I have used your suggestions so often. Oh, and I am not ticking that box LOL.

As far as my original launcher problem, I'd like to pass this along just for gps'. I had upgraded my setpoint drivers (Logitech gaming mouse) to the latest 6.51. Every so often I'd get an error message and I had to re-apply my mouse settings. So, I rolled back to the 6.32 version that never gave me any problems. Afterwards I was finally able to open my launcher. Don't know if that was the fix, or if the fresh download finally kicked in.

Again, thanks Hyper for you many brain-shares.
