Let's assume for a moment that through one event or another, CoH is snatched from the abyss at the last moment AND development on the game is able to continue.

Issue 24's title is/was Resurgence!

Let that sink in a bit. The title would galvanize our efforts, and be perhaps the biggest resurgence possible for an MMO. Now with that in mind, wouldn't you want to tell your friends about it? Wouldn't that be an excellent selling point? Ripples. Lots of them.

A success here would speak volumes about our community. And it would all be true, we are that awesome.

Don't give up quite yet.

Thanks. That put a smile on my face.

I'm rarely this positive, TA... something must be broken.

At any rate, I had that thought occur, and figured I might as well share it!

Tonight, Arbiter Hawk showed up in the middle of the night on Virtue, and took a couple leagues-worth of players to the old D, and let us fight 16 (!) Statesmans. (It was Virtue, because he said it was the only server he had access to, from an old costume contest) His avatar was a big, gold car and someone dubbed him Carbiter Hawk. He said (before and afterward) "just remember we love you guys!"

The night before, also in the wee-small hours, Freitag showed up, saying "I just stopped in to tell you guys we love you!" (and also that he was doing laundry.)

So, these guys have their livelihoods in jeopardy, watch their friends become unemployed, and they're showing up on their own time to cheer US up?

Tell me, how do we give up on this?

Similarly, Alpha Wolf popped up on Justice and formed up 2 Mothership Raids... at virtually the same time. Quite awesome!

We can't... and we won't!

Ha! I've always loved the devs showing up like that. I've never seen that kind of interaction with a community before in any online game. Paragon definitely IS and hopefully will continue to be a great team.

I would invest in a team like that. They are talented, passionate, creative, and smart. I would pay to keep them.
On another note. I went to a high volume retail store at lunch and notice NC Soft was no where to be found. No game cards, no box games, no downloads to purchase. I'm just speculating, but that may be a sign of NCSofts financial woes, and could that COH was just a tip to a very serious problem with the company as a whole.

Agreed. I have something to say. I do not post much but this letter of encouragement needs to be said. The last twitch tv dev appearance was depressing because imagine losing your job in a quick spout of a few days in a horrible economy.? Anyone would be depressed... but you know what kept them on twitch? Us! We leaned on the devs when we needed bug fixes, updates and transitions and of course fun times. It is about time the devs leaned on us! We can and will not give up the fight to save City of heroes!

I hate to sound cliche, but our game wouldn't be called city of heroes if were not heroes. The devs and our game needs our support at this time of dearest need. We shouldn't give them up! If the Arabic countries can get political change through social networks, so can we!
So everyday until NCsoft says something either selling the game off or giving it to tony at titan networks, we will fight to save what is rightly ours. Our devs, our game our community!

Imagine if when we do save the game, how sweet victory will taste when issue 24 resurgence comes out! Imagine that, us little heroes fought the corporate galactic battalion from destroying our beloved world and we sent them packing!

Well-said, Thirty-Seven. To add on to that, the Post-Apocalyptic costume set was nearing completion! Coincidence, or fate? We decide!

'Sup, Code'? Surprised you have the time to drop in considering all the projects you are working on.

I never give up. I just know I don't always win. But I spent two years trying to get defense fixed, three years trying to get SR balanced, six years trying to get MA working as its design spec said it should, eight years trying to get the blaster archetype normalized - pthhthhh what's one more million to one shot.

This would fit so well if that just-a-marketing-ploy thing was real. DANG.

If it's all a marketting plot, I'll be torn between hugging the devs and clotheslining them.

Your signature reminds me that I should make a smaller version of that, NT.

Edit: Done! Will be posting the link in the Banner thread soon. They aren't too tiny, but they are definitely less gimungous!

I would SO SO Appreciate having COX2 around. I would not mind, building my Characters back up. Face it, our most enjoyable moments in the game, has been fighting with other Heroes & Villains against a common foe, and Leveling up.

COX has not been about Being a Hero/Villain, but Being a Hero/Villain with Others in the game.

Some things are easier to get away with doing while at the day job than others.

The obvious solution would be Hug-lining them. Also, as tricksy as our devs can be, I don't think that this quite lines up with their sense of humor. Rampant emotional distress isn't really considered good customer service, after all.
