Mastermind Bodyguard Macro question.

I am new to the bind/ macro world when it comes to masterminds. My goal is to simply keep my pets in bodyguard mode at all times while still keeping my offense churning butter so to speak.

So here is my idea. I wanted to create individual macros for all of my different offensive powers. The macro would change my stance which would now be in aggressive to defensive aka activating bodyguard mode. I realize it would be a good bit of stance changing since I'd be changing every single time I were to attack.

Here is my question. Would that work? Is it worth it?

I'm reading this, and all I can reply is "At what point are you changing your pets' stance off def/follow?" You seem to want to put them back on bodyguard every time you attack, but your attacks don't have any impact at all on their stances or actions, unless you've already done some very fancy bind work.

Yeah, each pet has a stance (Passive, Defensive, Aggressive), and an action (Stay, Go To, Follow, Attack Target. And Dismiss, I guess). the various petcom commands can be used to change stance, action, or both, on any or all of your pets. But unless you do something which triggers one of the petcom commands (this includes pretty much any buttons in the pet window), then their current state doesn't change, and their AI goes on about its business as usual.

If by attack, you mean when order your pets to attack, then the macros in your tray do change stance & give an order at the same time.

If you did mean your personal attacks, then ignore all of below

The default make your pet attack icon in your tray is 'petcom_all attack aggressive' which does order an attack, while making the pet into aggressive mode.

I typically edit them (right click the icon and click edit) and remove the word aggressive. Then the pets stay in what ever stance they were in - eg defensive.

It's the same for the follow (aggressive) and heel (Passive) commands, which I edit as well.

I then drag the stances from the pet window to make icons/macros for the stances.

That way, my command to attack doesn't change the stance, and I can change stance easily.

I also use /bind mousechord petcomall go to which set ups when I click both mouse buttons I get a reticle which when clicked on ground sends the pets there.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):
