NCSoft Launcher won't start - FONT!?

I have already solved problem myself, but just to leave info if someone else might get problem like that.

Did some graphic drivers updating today and when I finish it everything was working fine, but couldn't get NCSoft Launcher to work. It would appear in Task Manager for few second and then disappear.

Tried every option I could find on forum, on NC support page or on other NCSoft games pages and nothing work (reinstaling .Net, turning off all programs in startup including AV, installing MSXML 6.0...).

When I read logs I saw some message that keep repeating

"Exception Information Details:
======================================
Exception Type: System.ArgumentException
Message: Font 'Verdana' does not support style 'Regular'"

So I have decided to check font and I did had True Type Verdana. Just to be sure I have removed it and added Verdana that came with Launcher. It was Open Type Verdana and my Launcher started to work again after that.

So if you can't start Launcher, check for things like fonts also.

My system basic information:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Central Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory:2046MB
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
Video Device Name: Radeon X1600/1650 Series
Manufacturer / Chip:ATI Technologies Inc. / ATI Radeon Graphics Processor
Video Memory: 512.0 MB
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6925
Driver Date: 1.1.0001 0:00:00
Driver Language: English

Think that I have lost font while uninstalling old catalyst and graphic drivers (and some other programs that came from graphic card instal disc and I haven't found any use for them). It have happened to me once before that when I have deleted some program at work, using add/remove, that one of the fonts (think Ariel) got to True Type instead of Open Type (Windows xp also, but different system).

Is your system set to a different Date format other than MM/DD/YYYY by any chance?

That usually happens with non US installation setups or when someone has changed the Date format on purpose.

The reason I ask is because of how the Driver date is shown as 1.1.0001 0:00:00

If you aren't using a different date format or a non US installation setup, your video driver installation may be corrupted.

Without being able to see things like the date format on the Sound Card drivers it's difficult to tell which it is. If the Sound Card drivers have the same date format, it usually means it's a formatting thing. If the Sound Card drivers don't show the same date format and odd date/time, then it means the video card driver installation is corrupted, which could explain your font issues.

Remember, when changing drivers (especially ATI drivers and especially with older video cards) be sure to uninstall the drivers and associated software in normal Windows mode, run Driver Sweeper in Windows Safe Mode to remove the left over remnants of the installation and then install the drivers in normal Windows mode.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I did exactly that - removed everything ATI related, then run Driver Sweeper in Windows Safe Mode. Followed instructions from forum, and took recommended version of Legacy Drivers from here also. Haven't counted of Font problem on the way.

And yes, my computer is set to DD/MM/YYYY (non US).
