Can't create new characters. I keep getting "disconnected from DBserver"

For about the past week, every time I've gone through a new character creation, when I hit enter world/enter tutorial (I've tried both ways multiple times), the game crashes and I get a "disconnected from DBserver message" and then I can't log back in on that account for a few.

So far I've manually added NCSoft and City of Heroes to my allowed list on my firewall. I also did the repair function on the NCSoft launcher. I am a noob free player (dunno if that matters) and I can play my already created characters just fine.

Another thing that might be causing problems, is I made a couple of free accounts so I could test out a variety of toons before settling on one...could this be an issue?

Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
