Figured it out. I cant make real changes to the customs unless I unpublish, reedit, then republish. At least they didnt take when I tried to edit in the published window

My old 4 mission arc now has problems since I last played it a year ago. Although no errors show anywhere in the edit custom group, I am clearly getting an error because it takes one of my bosses in the group and turns them into a toxic spitting blob critter.
