Shadow Meld on DB/WP

I've managed to soft-cap all def (except psionic which is at 32%) on my DB/WP scrapper.

My question is it worth it to add another 27% to all def from shadow meld in the epic pool which would be up for 15 sec and have a 10 sec down time? I had to get rid of a travel power to do it, but i do have nija run lol.

Below is my build.

I find that Shadow Meld makes a huge survivability difference for me in Incarnate content -- soloing groups in the trials (BAFs, SLAMs, etc.) or running +4/+8 etc. in Dark Astoria. The incarnate soft-cap is 58% and Shadow Meld puts me there enough, often enough, to deal with alphas spawn to spawn. I love that I can activate it while moving to avoid the activation time.

I have it on my StJ/Ice stalker, my StJ/WP scrapper, and my Staff/Elec stalker. One Recharge IO is enough to put me over the Icap.

FYI I don't think your build is soft-capped when stealth is supressed? Detoggle stealth, look at your def numbers, and add to them the value of stealth shown in MIDS (2.84%). Maybe I'm wrong.

I will say that I have become a big fan of shadow meld, for the reasons already stated by Granite Agent... ditto

I concur with the above posts.

If you do Incarnate content frequently it will be a good thing to pick up.

If you don't do Incarnate content frequently, it will be nearly useless because you're already softcapped.

It is especially useful at the start of a big group to avoid Alphas. After you've weathered that storm for 10-15 seconds, your normal defenses will be enough to keep you alive. It is a great power.

I have found Shadow Meld great at helping you take incarnate alphas so would definitely be worth having.

One thing I noticed on your build though is that when Stealth is supressed you fall under the 45% softcap, unless I missed something. But I don't know if that matters much to you.

I said the same thing 2-3 posts above. Without any reply from the OP.

If you go to Options - Configuration - Effects & Maths, and check "Attacked" in the Suppression list, Mids will no longer include the suppressed part of stealth powers in your totals. It's not terribly difficult to subtract it away mentally, but I find it easier to never have to think about it at all. One less mistake to worry about avoiding.

No, I didn't notice that it fell under the softcap in mids when attacked with stealth...I guess I'll make a couple changes to address this. From the feedback I think that it seems like it would be worth it to add shadow meld into my build as I do a lot incarnate content. Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry I remember reading the rest of your post but must have missed the last paragraph somehow
