Hey, I've just recently returned to CoH, got my second controller to 50, and I'm looking for a non-troller alt.
So obviously, I'm going with the least troller-y thing I could think of; a brute. I'm madly in love with the animations of staff fighting, and have some staff/electric armor-y questions for the experienced brutes on this forum
1. between perfect body, guarded spin, and sky splitter, can I expect to be noticably hardier than another equivalent brute? Can I expect to work well as a tank? Or is the whole thing moot. Can brutes expect to tank endgame anyways? Remember, no CoX tanker experience(but a fair amount of WoW experience....I just don't wanna have to roll up a toon with a lower damage coefficient to tank (even if it's just "oh, in a pinch" tanking, it's still tanking, and therefore, awesome)".
2. Due to my addiction to high poly-count backpacks, and a desire to know that my controller main was always gonna be unlocked, When I returned to CoX, I bought far to many heroes/villains packs. As such, I have the means to get the brute's fury set. Any advice on where to slot it?
3. As a staff brute, will I even care about getting to the mythical "perma-hasten" level? Or is it just a case of "put in a handful of LoTGs/set bonuses so that I can make an uninteruppted attack chain from 3 +perfection attacks, then skysplitter/Eye of the storm"?
TLR: are there any major cooldowns I should be worrying about? Or should I just get myself down to like..be able to alternate my perfection eaters?
4. Any major temporary powers floating around that'll just make my day? I know of envenomed dagger/serum, and I plan on always having those two on me, but is there like... a super-secret-tazer-the-enemies ability somewhere? :P
5. I'm like...99% moot on epic power pool choices. I can make a blueside one or a redside work in my concept. ANy specific pools recomended, or should I just go energy mastery for what looks like 3x awesome passives?
