Guide to the incarnate trial, The Magisterium

Hello everyone. This is my first attempt at making a guide, so I am unsure if this is the right place or not for this guide. My mistake if it isn't the right place. I am making this guide as I had felt that the trial was in danger of being nerfed, like the Keyes trial. The Keyes was a balanced trial that would be an actual challenge to us incarnates and it would put you down if there were mistakes made during the course of the trial. Now, it's a joke that had become similar to the BaF and the Lambda. The Magisterium trial is a difficult one, but I just think it's misunderstood. I've run a bunch of these trials under many people, and I've formed many more. This guide is made under my understanding of what must be done during the trial, and it isn't a well detailed guide, but it contains of what I've seen that works during this trial. My global is @Redshadows and I play on the Justice server and I just want people to enjoy the challenge it presents, rather than resent it for being difficult for everyone. This is not for a badge run, but for a completion. Feel free to post suggestions, but this is only my rough understanding of the trial and what I've seen that works. Use Ctrl+F for bits that you want. The devs might post an overview or guide to the trial, but this is just my understanding of what must be done. I hope you enjoy the guide if it helps.

Arbiter Hawk has answered some questions that plague most on this trial. Here is the link: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...ht=Magisterium

Phase 1: The Easy Part
-Easy part. Just kill the enemies

Phase 2: Getting a bit more difficult
-Three AVs give their allies powers when they die.
-Better to aim for Shadow Hunter first as his ability is the least devastating.
- Nega has a PBAoE that hurts bad when it hits. Pull him away from the group to avoid massive damage
- When a little red target is above your head, spread out and away from league and other targeted people. It's an AoE from Chimera that stacks with other targeted people.
- It seems easier to fight Shadow Hunter, Nega, and Chimera in this order

Phase 3: The kinda misunderstood bit.
-Everyone aim for portals when they spawn. Easiest way to deal the most damage to Black Swan, is to destroy the portals as soon as they spawn.
-Hide behind the walls of the circle/square. She drains level shifts and makes you weaker. She teleports people to her so some people will get hit.
- You will receive a temp power after defeating Black Swan. More details about this power is explained next

Phase 4: The Hardest Phase
- When it says "The air crackles with lightning", move away from Tyrant. This attack spawns a giant AoE that spawns on players and stacks with other lightning strikes. Move away from Tyrant to spawn the lightning strikes away from Tyrant so attacks can be made.
- When the lights spawn, everyone should go for them. The sooner they're destroyed with the temp power gained from Black Swan, the stronger everyone gets. It gives everyone a level shift for each light destroyed. It's a PBAoE, so get close

Afterword of the Guide
Thank you for looking at this guide. I might have posted it in the wrong place, but I tried to put something out there for everyone. There might be more guides, so I hope that I didn't put in any misinformation about the trial's steps. I just put in what I've seen and experienced during these trials. On the Justice server, I try to get everyone the directions I feel are the best, but if there is anything that I missed, feel free to post it. I want everyone to enjoy this trial and have some understanding at what to do so that everyone can have fun, they can get the rewards they want, and they can learn how to complete the trial. I have to note: I know that debuffs/buffs can help immensely during a trial. This guide is for understanding purposes so everyone knows what must be done. I posted what I thought was a thorough explanation of what was able to help contribute to the success of the trial. Many people have been asking what to do during the trial, and everyone has been pointing fingers. Any trial can be easy or hard depending on understanding of what must be done during a trial. I only ask of all of you to try your best. To like, hate, or feel indifferent about the guide and this trial. That everyone will help contribute to the understanding, completion, and the "please don't nerf this trial" feeling that I'm sure that some people get when they see hate about the trial. It might be a selfish thing that I ask, but I tried not to step on any toes and to try to explain the trial. It might be a lot of typing to go through( or just use ctrl+F to find what you want), but I hope that some information can be used to help people with this trial.

I appreciate the intentions, but this is way too "wall of text" for people to read. Possibly separate a few of the sections into paragraphs, or have some bullet point summaries of the key steps.

EDIT - Seems I was completely wrong about the portals being involved for Black Swan, the effect is just timed and my last league was suspiciously co-ordinated.

I'm also not sure about the PBAoE on Black Swan doing the level shift draining, it seems she has two different ways to do this. One seems to be -1 to everyone per portal still up, and another seems to be a cone (or possibly targeted aoe) which nullifies Incarnate powers (and any level shifts they grant) on people who get hit by it. I will have to pay more attention next time, but I could have sworn I got hit by her big PBAoE DoT without losing any level shifts.
