Night Widow Costume - Claws

Hello, everyone.

I thought I'd get some advise from the Fortunata / Night Widow veterans on a couple of items.

Although I signed up for City of Villains when it came out, I've soured on the Rogue Isles. Its a shame that this archetype cannot start in Paragon. However, that's the way it is. So, I'm working my way up a place where I can get Tips and make the switch.

My first question is can I conduct the mandatory level-24 Respec after I switch over to Paragon? Is there a special contact required, or do I just use a free "Respec" line command or visit the contact in Atlas?

The second item I'm curious about is related to costumes. I have my mandatory Fortunata costume in my first slot, and I've done the mission to open my second slot at level-10. In my second slot I made an experimental outfit (several months old now) that looked very Hero-like. Strangely, there is a category for the claw weapons, but the only option is the original claws I got with my character. I don't see anyway to change it.

When I get to level 20 I will have the opportunity to open yet another slot. I have a concept using the Mecha components, but I really want an energy-type claw. Is that possible, or am I stuck with those small sets of claws I got at level one?

If I'm stuck with that, then my only option will be to build the costume to obscure the claws completely.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Sorry, claws are unchangable in any costume.

Thanks, Trilby.

I couldn't change them in my level-10 slot. I just wasn't sure if that applied to all of the costume slots.

Oh well. Guess I'll have to get creative.

I still find it a bit strange. Why is that one element of the Widow fixed anyway?

The forced respec happens automatically when you talk to any trainer after getting enough XP to advance to level 24. You don't need to use /respec or talk to Jack Wolf; you just walk up to Ms. Liberty (or whoever) and Poof! you're doing a respec. So, don't train up to 24 when you're in the middle of a task force.

Outstanding information, Bill. Thank you!

One problem you might have is: Patron Pools. Soldiers of Arachnos do not get any non-patron pool (i.e. blue-side's "epic" pools); so if you switch sides before level 41(?) where you have to go through the whole patron unlock if you were on red-side, you may lock yourself out of Gloom*.

*the only power in all of the patrons worth taking for a Widow.

You can begin the patron story arcs at 35 these days. You can start them as a Rogue too, so you can head over to blueside for teams and still retain your connection to the patrons, at least long enough to stab them in the back and take their powers.
