My Human-form WS Build

So I wanted a new project and I found it in my old WS which I decided to kit out for general end game play, from TFs to Trials. It's my first stab at a human form build so bear with me, though I have found a large amount of success playing with it on live the past few days. Also though I have dwarf form, I dont use it for anything other than set mules. Any and all feedback welcome and appreciated!

At work so no mids to see exactly what the Accuracy is on it, but I'd really want some Accuracy in Eclipse. I want to make sure it hits as many targets as possible as consistently as possible. Maybe pull out some slots from hasten, stamina, or health to put some Acc/Rech or just a plain ole Acc IO boosted if you got em. Also, just one KB IO. I'd like 3 personally to make sure that I only get KBed by the cheaty face crap, not the 3 KBstacking alphas of some mobs. But outside of that it looks solidly playable monoform.

Looks like a fine build, but could use some work. You don't need E Drain AND Ebon Eye slotted since your two best options for ST chains use either one or the other. I prefer E Drain myself even though that chain does slightly less damage since I get the stream of HP without having to drop my DPS to use stygian circle.

I don't slot e drain for any additional healing but I also have wider coverage defense-wise than you do. I slot G Well w/ 5 Hecatombs (all but the proc) and the UC smashing proc on the end so that I can use the Hecatomb proc in E Drain. This gives me a purple proc in every attack in my ST chain.

Armageddon (or at least the proc) is better suited in OD than Mire since the purple Fire proc will help your damage much more there.

Your Stygian Circle is very over-slotted, I say 4 slots max if you have them to spare in order to get the set bonuses from Perf. Shifter. I one slot it with an end mod/rech on my build and that's enough for me. You definitely never need to slot it for healing.

I'm really worried about your endurance for single target fights. You have minimal end reduction slotting in your toggles, you'll be sucking wind pretty easily in soloing or Team vs AV scenarios, which happen a lot especially during the end game (or if you're just trying to god mode the game by yourself. Human Shades are great for that.)

The toxic damage proc would be better in S Blast than the slow smashing proc, toxic is very rarely resisted, plus it looks cooler.

I suggest swapping those IO's out of your tp powers and the aegis IO out of G Shield. You should be able to save a slot with the latter, your eclipse is already capping the hell out of S/L so you can toss your Glad Armor in there. The goal for the former is to try and squeeze 12 points of KB protection into your build, it's nice to have and especially easy to get if you're taking Dwarf for mules anyways.

If you're going to exemp, I think you should just make a second cheap tri form build. Forms are best for pre-Eclipse levels, and that means your end game human build won't need to waste power choices on those resistance toggles. I personally have all of my positional defenses a small purple from the softcap so I find that if there aren't enough targets to cap my Eclipse (I cap everything w/ 5 targets, that's the best goal to set yourself) I don't need to worry about using it anyways. You won't have that luxary against non s/l attacks but I still don't think the resistance toggles are needed when you're missing out on stuff...

Last but not least, you're missing a couple of powers that I consider "must haves." The first one is Grav Emanation. Inky Aspect does just fine one-slotted so once you drop those res toggles you can sup Emanation in and have slots for it easily. The second one is Provoke. A Human Shade is one of the most ungodly survivable things in the game, and it's a great shame to build one that can't tank.

You're also missing Dark Detonation, which is a definite "nice to have" and bordering on "must have" as soon as the -KB proc comes out. For one, it's an extra AOE attack- AOE is the only weakish department for a Human Shade. For two it takes a FF +Rech proc for faster Mires and Fluffies. These are good things.

So your post got me thinking and I spent the last hour or so tinkering around with the build and came up with some new ideas that I squashed and found there was still a lot more flexibility to be had with the build. Some things aren't optimized like the Stygian Circle slotting, but I prefer it slotted the way it is and I am okay with using the extra slots there

A quick overview of what's changed/hasn't:
Went from 4 points of KB protection to 12
Decided to use ED as the third part of my attack chain as it will leave me with the lowest downtime
Unslotted Ebon Eye
Kept pretty much the same defense while maintaining S/L softcap and moderate defenses otherwise
Kept the same amount of global recharge
Replaced unchain essence with dark detonation, the extra slot is for the KB into KD IO whenever that comes out
Gained some HP
Moved procs around for more efficient slotting

And here is the actual new build:

Any thoughts on the new build? I feel kind of sad about so many slots in dwarf just for mules, but over all I am really happy with the result. But of course, always welcome to more input!

Why are you picking up the shields if you have perma eclipse? The powers you're sacrificing (Gravitic Emanation, Stygian Return, Unchain Essence)...it's not worth it.

Well my primary reason for not picking up emanation is the knockback and I might pick it up after the KB IO is released, though with dark detonation recharging in under four and a half seconds I don't think I'll really miss it. I understand that stygian return is a great power and a mag 30 stun is awesome, but I just don't die enough to justify it. Unchain essence I dropped because I will get much better DPS with Dark Detonation. I could pick up those three powers in place of the shields, but I like the shields for when I am fighting one enemy and can't get a full Eclipse. Also I could remove some slots from other powers and put a couple slots into Gravitic and Unchain (Return could get away with the base slot), but they wouldn't be slotted well, so I didn't figure I'd bother with it. And actually because I like the way the shields look, I enjoy being a fuzzy purple fluffball of doom.

Also I took Dark Detonation over Gravitic because the TAoE meshes better with my three PBAoEs, where as with Gravitic, I'd feel obligated to hop back a bit to get the best effect with the cone.

You seem to be under the impression Gravitic is just another attack, but with knockback. It isn't. It's a control. Your SL softcap will help keep you safe for a majority of the content, but it's still a very useful mitigation tool.

Which brings me to the self rez. You might not die often, but you will, at some point, die. And you're saying that a redundant resistance toggle that helps you not at all is worth more? (In fact, not only doesn't it help you, but it's actually quite the opposite--it's an additional endurance drain you really don't need.) It can't be because of exemping, because face it--that build will not exemp well. I've had a similar build--except with those attacks you are missing, of course--and I can tell you human form is tough enough when exemping, the shields won't change anything overmuch.

And unchain essence is an awesome mob wiper/corpse maker. Dark Detonation is nice and all, but it's really not that strong. It's more of a filler/add on AoE attack.

No, I understand fully what Gravitic does, I had it in the build I got to 50 with, but to me the mitigation it provides isn't as valuable as the shields and it's damage is too low for me to consider it as an attack. I don't miss the control from Gravitic either, as I find I have plenty between the slows, Inky Aspect, and Gravity Well.

The endurance cost of the shields isn't actually an issue, what with Eclipse and Stygian circle and I like having mid range resists with just one eclipse for those times that I am killing an EB or fighting an AV or something. Also even though the shields will be redundant part of the time, any time I have access to fewer than 5 mobs with Eclipse, I see a benefit from the shields.

I still don't feel a need to have yet another self rez as I already have the Veteran one, which is pretty nifty, and quite a stock of the temp self rezzes in my email.

And as I have stated before, I also keep the shields for personal reasons. I like the colors and effects. They're pretty, and being pretty is also important.

Lastly, though the burst damage from Unchain Essence is nice, and I really like being able to blow people up I just couldn't justify it over the other powers. Trust me though, I really didn't want to get rid of it, but I just felt like I got better sustained performance by having the spammy Dark Detonation to clear mobs. It was a tough choice between spike and sustained damage and in the end I decided to side with the latter.
