I understand your reservations with requesting specific powers being brought to the league. It smacks of micromanagement. For a regular team. No, you don't need a snipe to take out Frostfire, or the Malta Sappers, and you don't need an ST heal on an ITF or a Bank mission.

But this is a very specific task. Requesting something that specializes in long-range damage, to complete a task that requires ranged damages, and benefits a lot more with long-range damage is, a very specific tactic for a very specific goal.

It's no different than requesting Holds for an LGTF, or prior to incarnates, requesting a carefully built AT to tank Lord Recluse on a MOSTF. Sure, you don't need a Dom for the LGTF, or a Tanker for STF, but it helps.

This is exactly it. You have nothing to lose if Bruty McMelee runs in on the bombs. Others on the league do. And this is what they have to understand. You're doing this, not for your benefit, but so other people can get the badge. If people want the badge, there will need to be some give on the league's part. If it means the scrappers have to suck it up for ten minutes, while the Corruptors and Blasters snipe, then so be it. Group their insps, play with emotes, put on some Wilson Phillips, whatever.

That said, the next time you'd like to attempt it, I'll try to be there, with a Snipe. I believe Player One is my only character with a Snipe Attack, so, even if you manage to get it and plan another run down the road, I will be happy to join future runs, if you need a snipe-mule.

Thank you, Champion.

While I stayed on follow the whole time I noticed this a couple of times in the hallway. If you're right on the edge of the max range, it will take longer for people to start firing off attacks. I can't speak for the people that moved up ahead a bit, but it was probably just them trying to get into range, (I didn't see people move up that far ahead of you, which is why this is my guess). I'd just suggest standing at ~70(or closer) ft to make sure everyone is in range and/or just really make sure people are on follow, targetting you, with a ranged attack on auto.
I'm not asking people to stand behind me. I'm just asking them to not go past me (move up as I move up to my location and not further.) Perhaps this is a source of confusion.

Regardless, you should be at a distance where, if you're using 80ft attacks as instructed, they should be firing. If someone moves a couple feet ahead of me to get in range, that's fine, but the person who got too close was almost in melee with the bombs. That is too close.

As to where I was standing, I used a character specifically with standard 80ft attacks that didn't have Cardiac or anything slotted that would affect range. I usually try to stand a couple feet closer than max range to allow others to move up, like you suggested. I vaguely recall someone saying they fired off Clarion with a boost range component. I'm almost wondering if that threw people off near the end as it wore off.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Rest assured there will be other attempts. I may even run a few impromptu ones.

It's been pointed out to me that the targetin' idea won't work as it only highlights if they're on the same team as you. So, worse case scenario, shift people around to the leader's team and go from there.

Just had a successful impromptu run for bombs using snipers. Mind you, we had around 10 people with Snipe, which isn't common.

With that in mind, I think what I will do is pick the strat based on what shows up. Understandably people are going to want to bring their badge characters and not all of them are going to have Snipe. So bring what needs the badge and if we just so happen to have a lot of snipers we can try it that way.
