Arcs I Like - hopefully an ongoing thread

I hit level 40 and I don't care for the content. So I have decided to hit AE and see what cool arcs people have created. I have not done so in a couple of years, so most of the stuff should be new to me. I am probably only going to try arcs posted in this forum as I have found trying to find good arcs through AE to be painful.

First Arc:
Arc #517859: Crime is Art and Art is Crime, by @Twoflower - Hero 35+

Great arc. The story is semi-silly in the golden/silver age vein. Serious in its own way, but not death and despair type of stuff. The enemy groups were varied - even within a mission. Lots of objectives which were different and added to the story and flavor. Some nice NPC dialog in the missions - especially the last one.

There was nothing ground breaking in the technical execution - it was a fairly standard set of objectives and maps - but just very well done.

Cracking Skulls (ID #115935), by @Flame Kitten
lvls 1-10

another great mission that doesn't have anything special mechanically, it is just a good story with lots of in mission details. The NPC's talk, which adds a lot of flavor.

It is Skulls, the maps are normal. The story is not end of the world, no EB or AV. Just a well done arc. Every arc should be this good.

Arc Name: The Blue Devils Arc ID#: 468738
level 1-5

The first mission is a bit weak, okay but not great. The remaining missions are great. Good storyline. Some mix of villains and some nice power variety. Ties in nicely with lore. Good map selection - a few you don't normally see heroside.

A technical bit which was very nice was optional vigilante objectives to be a more ruthless hero.

This is really a great arc for new characters.

Arc #525356 Agent of the OSS by @PW, Hero 20+

This is a historic arc set during WWII which was a little jarring since I did not expect it. No time travel back to it - you start back then.

It makes classic mistakes - a couple of very large mission maps with a very small map in the middle, but it tells a story well and the large maps are unique and they added so many details with the enemies chat, special bosses, etc that it goes really well.

The missions also felt less forced than most arcs. I think there are only 3 missions, and each makes perfect sense to the story. There is no feeling that it is padded.

Arc ID: 534314 Forsaken People: A Tale of Old Astoria @Sparkly Soldier
levels 20-29

This is a really good arc with a caveat - it is a story not combat. Many missions have very little combat at all. You might go through a fairly large map and fight 3 times.

It has a very good story, and the missions have series of tasks to perform to go along with the story. It takes some looking around and I am sure it is not for everyone. But if you want a good story and something different than grinding through spawns this is one to check out.

Mercytown #6017
lvl 1-10 Villainous

I'm not totally satisfied with this one. Several times during missions I felt I was grinding through. But it has so many great elements I still really liked it.

The overall story is great.
The contact is fabulous.
The final climax is satisfying.
Several details in the missions are very nice - you will want to read the clues.

hopefully an ongoing thread
I hope too!

Often when I need(ed) salvage for my main who crafts common IOs and set IOs for my multitude of alts and prices seemed a bit too silly in WW I would/will have her run AE arcs for tickets for random salvage rolls. Usually I do so not on "farming" maps but by running AE arcs such as the ones in this thread. Far more fun for me than running a single map or two over and over. Can't have too long a list of such content to pick from.

yeah, I hate trying to find arcs in game. Mostly farms and then those with AV's. I won't do arcs with AV's, I regard it as lazy - trying to make it important by upping the difficulty instead of the story.

I do hope to get enough lvl 1-10 do do a thread with just those arcs - I hope to get at least 10 I can recommend.

Arc ID: 381565 Arc Name: A Favor For Liberty (The Megan Duncan Task Force)
Level 12-15

I highly recommend this arc. The details are really good. I did not quite follow all of the story, but I think it is there. There is just so much detail to go over.

In addition to the story, dialog, etc, the main thing that stands out are using a variety of enemies in ways that make sense and truly add variety. It is not one mission of hellions, one of skulls, etc. But within a mission you encounter a variety of foes - some I did not realize you could put in.

There were a few typos I sent to the author. Hopefully they can get fixed.
mission completion 1 "presents" instead of "presence"
mission 2 officer speaks clue "vile" instead of "vial"
mission 3 "all most" "almost"
elmer "minuets" instead of "minutes"

I did get a lil' crazy with (text) details in an attempt to give everything some depth. While the story telling might not be standard, the arc is an attempt at both an action arc and a story arc.

Thanks for playing and recommending A Favor For Liberty (The Megan Duncan Task Force)

EDIT: Also thanks for the heads up on the typos (fixed).
