I've used Snaps Pro X to take screen videos before (it's not free though). There's another one called Screenium but I haven't tested it.
One thing though, you can only record the screen when it's in windowed mode (Cmd-Enter).

Screenflow is my choice. It's very efficient; lets me run Ultra settings and record with no framerate drop. The link in my sig (Dark Armor is a Complete Waste as a Tanking Set) is a demonstration of Screenflow's power.

You know, Quicktime has its own screen recording option. It is under file > new screen recording.
Can't say much about the quality, though.

Does anyone know of a good screen recording software that can be used on a MAC? i been searching for 3 days now and nothing has come up. Gets really frustrating when a MAC wont let you do these kind of things
