Ranged assault sets

I've recently gotten into playing dominators. However, I don't like playing up in melee, I die too much. So I'm looking for sets I can stay at range with and be effective. I'm pretty familiar with which control sets play more from range and which play better in melee, but not so much the assault sets. Which ones would be best to play strictly from range, and which ones get the most mileage out of playing in melee?

Energy
Dark
Psi
Ice
Fire?

Can all make wonderful entirely ranged attack chains single target.
They all need to move to melee to leverage thier pbaoes though.

Earth Assault is definitely the most melee-centric of the Assault sets.

if you really want a ranged you might want grav for your primary as that gives you some extra ranged attacks. Normally doms don't care about those but if you are skipping the melee attacks in your secondary they might help out
