DM/Stone Brute build please!

I've really never given either the primary or secondary much of a go as of yet and am really curious to see if it would make the "Tanky" brute I would like to try.
I'm more a solo pve'er and would love a build with soft caps to the "fab four" and an idea on how not to faceplant on my rise to 50!

I'm curious....

If you're a soloer I would NOT pick /stone. It's overkill for ANYTHING you'll face solo, and if you crank up the levels or amounts of spawns the single target nature of DM with the -damage and -recharge of granite will slow your leveling to a crawl. If you don't intend to run granite then the -speed, -jump of rooted will also slow you down and given the +def of all of the other armors won't make you that much more survivable.

For a soloer I would suggest:
electric=good resists, good heal, great end management
shield=good defenses, +damage (against all odds), good nuke
willpower=decent defense, decent resists, good to great end management, good +regen
fire=good resists, great heal, damage aura, +damage, pbaoe (burn), decent end management

DM is a fine pick for a soloer as its mostly single target based, comes with a heal that also does great damage. Its AoE is paltry (1 attack, and 2 utility powers). Though when something resists negative energy, it RESISTS negative energy. Its -to hit buff synergizes nicely with defense based sets

building a lvl 50 stoner require's more information as to what yer looking for. There's plenty of Stone Armor builds floating around. I prefer to not use granite except in rare cases so my build would look alot different from someone who's in granite most the time.

fyi, Rooted detoggles travel powers including CJ. (I'd only use Rooted as needed)
and Granite detoggles RA, BA, CA, and Minerals (a 50 could skip these sheilds)

Larcen3, I'm just looking for something a bit different. I totally love ELA and WP, they're my go to secondaries for the majority of my guys. Haven't given FA any real love and I always thought SD was more of a scrapper secondary (But meh, I don't claim to be an expert on those things).
I really just want to give DM a try with a strong defensive set that can mitigate damage well and I've always liked the stoney appearance of other I see running Stone.
I plan mostly to level through story arcs and then eventually see if can tank for teams once I get to 50 in the incarnates, or even solo them when they become soloable trials (well the new ones).
