Tweaking Multiple Sessions
Hey BillZ.
I believe some of the UM graphic settings have a portion running on the CPU side as well. I believe both hard shadows and water reflections use the CPU to determine which objects cast hard shadows from and which objects to reflect in water (I believe the World Detail slider affects this as well as render depth).

Roger that and thanks, FX. I'll dive into it more tonight and see where it leads.

Howdy Tech Forumites,
Long time no read.
Got a testing bug that bounced into my head and got me wondering how many CoH sessions my gaming rig could handle.
At first, without changing any of my graphics settings and using the -stopinactivedisplay 1 flag, I was able to run 6 instances without issue but when I fired up the 7th, it became quite unplayable.
So I set Particle Physics down to None from Very High and that seemed to be enough to allow a 7th smooth session.
However, as expected, I want MORE. Well, ok, just one more. Maybe two.
With 7 sessions, I was pegging 100% CPU utilization on my I7 Intel quadcore with HT proc and I was using right at 10 of my 12gigs of RAM.
So here's the question, what other graphics settings are being dumped to the processor rather than being handled by the video card? Are there any besides Particle Physics?
Thanks much.
