Build help - Empathy/Energy/Dark
Some simple comments and please try to have a thick skin about this.
I think you need some work on understanding builds. I would suggest you read up on the links in my signature.
Hasten has 3 Hami in it. Why ? It only benefits from the Recharge portion of the Hami. 3 recharge invention would be better.
Grant invis has a shield wall proc ? For what ? Poorly slotted.
The same for Soul Transfer that has Armageddon in it. Why ? 600 million IO for what reason ? Regardless over slotted I think
Fortitude the same with the Hami.
Air Superiority again 1 of those IOs is expensive. 90 million I think. Just pick 2 others. Its obvious your not going for the set bonus.
Aim 6 slotted with Gaussian when your defense are crappy. Whats the sense.
If you learn about defenses and understand how they work it will give you some direction to look into. If it is possible. As an example I would look to go if possible ( I do not know without playing with the build ) Range cap hover blaster type. Or maybe go S/L defense capped if not and try to get some decent recharge going to get both RA close to perma. Maybe use the Alpha incarnates to help you achieve perma if your short in recharge.
Right now it is very obvious you do not understand about defenses or recharge or how to obtain them. The best someone could do is just give you a build.
It is also obvious your not too familiar with your toon powers because your picking up Dark consumption for endurance recovery and slotting it for damage. End result you have a power that gives you crappy endurance back and does crappy damage. So its a loose / loose for you. On top of all this the build really does not have endurance issues so what is the point.
BUT here is another big issue. You don't know what a good build is. So anyone ( and yes it includes myself ) could post a build say its good and assuming no one challenged that persons build you would go for it. Just to find out its a crappy build also.
So it brings me back to the links in my signature. You need to a bit of knowledge in any one part of the build creation process or your better just asking for a build in that new useless forum or doing a search and hoping someone posted up a Energy Empath build.
Again I could have jerked you around and gave you some half backside answer but that would be disservice to you and me.

Appreciate your feedback. Guess I wasn't clear enough about what I don't know. As you correctly pointed out, I know little if anything about what sets are best for what purpose. When I said I was fairly comfortable with the powers and slots I meant the number of slots not the enhancements in them. And even then, I may not have the correct number of slots for a power when using sets. Truthfully, I've always been a very casual player and never paid much attention to maxing out builds etc. I've always just enjoyed playing the game as best I could with friends.
It seems now with the new end game material, incarnate abilities, set IOs etc, that this really isn't very viable any longer so I hope to begin to learn about all of that going forward.
So, I've started reading these boards, downloaded Mids and have begun working with them. Didn't want to just come on here and say "Make me a build" Neither you nor anyone else should have any reason to do so. This is my first, albeit very poor, attempt to create a build but wanted to post one so I had some thing to start learning from that included the powers I would like to have in the finished product.
No worries about thick skin. I knew from the start that my attempt was probably very far off the mark. I appreciate your response and will read up on the material you linked. (Hopefully I'll be able to make heads or tails of it! )

I'm dusting off a lvl 50 Defender that hasn't seen much playing time in a long time. Not even respeced to compensate for inherent fitness. Fairly comfortable with my primary and secondary choices and slotting though I would certainly welcome suggestions for improvement. My biggest concern is I never really know how to slot pool powers and the Epic pool as well. I mostly play with a group of friends, rarely solo or pick up groups. Looking forward to the new content in DA and am curious as to what I should do with incarnates on here as well. (i.e. what would be best alpha? what about incarnate choices beyond alpha? etc)
