Danny Clark: Are there any planned changes with regards to restrictions of free players on the forums? I think we're a little over-restricted!

City of Heroes: Free and Premium players now have access to many sections of the forums shared with our VIP players, such as City Life, Suggestions and Ideas, Gameplay/Technical Issues, and Player Questions.

Aaron Driol: I heard staff melee was available on the beta but I can never access the store on the beta server. Are you experiencing beta server issues?

City of Heroes: You will need to purchase Staff Fighting in the Paragon Market™ on VIP Beta. (These are Beta Paragon Points and thus are not actual purchases) You will then be able to access Staff Fighting. Currently, the Paragon Market on VIP Beta is unavailable; we are working on a fix and expect it to be resolved later today.

City of Heroes: The new Dark Astoria coming in Issue 22 will be a coop zone.

City of Heroes: Yes, Free and Premium players will be able to enter Dark Astoria. Certain content, such as the Incarnate path and Trial, will be VIP-only.

City of Heroes: I think they're there for support more than bearing the coffin. Honestly, Back Alley Brawler could carry the coffin by himself.

City of Heroes: The arc has yet to finish. You'll get to see the aftermath of Statesman's death in further episodes.

Mike Speer: Is there any plan to have a system in place to show items that your account already has in the Paragon Store?

City of Heroes: It's functionality we'd love to put in, however the Paragon Market has a lot of moving parts. We'll keep investigating how we can give added functionality to the Paragon Market for our players.

Erik Ottosen: If you could get the licenses for one comic, video game, anime, or other-medium work (hard mode: Not DC or Marvel - you're cooler than them now) to add more to the CoH setting, what would be the gut pick of the man behind the account this Freedom Friday Morning?

City of Heroes: The thing about having a license is that you're only licensing it--the holders of that IP have final say over the characters, their involvement in stories, developments with the characters, etc. The nice thing about City of Heroes is that we own the characters and the world, and we can create a compelling story for the players without worrying about the approval of the IP holder. So I'd have to say, "none."

City of Heroes: Later this year.

City of Heroes: Nothing to comment on about Power Pools at this time.

Ron Sinclair: Will there ever be finger-based claw animations? This would obviously be for animal based characters. (maybe someday be able to properly use the animal costume stuff I purchased...) Also, can we expect any additions to the Titan Weapon options? A trident option would be awesome/appropriate.

City of Heroes: Clawed hand attacks are often requested, and it's something we have tried before. Unfortunately, the result didn't look good, so at this particular time we have no plans to revisit finger-claws. There are a lot of ideas floating around for further Titan Weapons. Also, there's a trident option in Staff Fighting.

City of Heroes: Anything's possible.

Erik Ottosen: Will we ever start seeing "pure" asymmetrical options (such as different boots on each leg, chosen out of the existing boot options)? It's not as common in big-2 comics, but it's everywhere in indie works. It's also good for creating characters who just plain Do Not Care how they dress.

City of Heroes: There are some asymmetrical options currently, such as with robot arms; as for choosing a different boot for each leg, it's unlikely as the way our costume creator works is (to my knowledge) not set up that way. Mismatched boots would actually have to be modeled as mismatched boots.

City of Heroes: There are unofficial RP servers. Virtue and Union are both very popular for roleplayers, but many servers have smaller RP communities.

City of Heroes: Justice. He keeps justice in those pouches.

City of Heroes: Nothing to report on hip capes (butt capes as some players call them) or additional trenchcoat models at this time. Sorry!

City of Heroes: Yes, we are. Beast Mastery will be an upcoming Mastermind set that allows you to summon swarms of insects, wolves, and lions.

Robert Chinnis: Would be nice to have the option to convert incarnate threads to shards. If it is available already sorry. I cannot find that if it is.

Kurtis Black: You can't convert threads to shards, but you CAN convert shards to threads. And everything you can make out of shards (ie, Alpha Abilities) have thread-based recipes too. Just scroll down to find them!

City of Heroes: There are a few coming out soon! (Not all at the same time, but within the same timeframe) We've recently showed the Roman Costume Pack, and the Valentine's Day Pocket D Costume Set, so look forward to those!

Daniel Smith: Staff fighting WITH i22 or after?

City of Heroes: Staff Fighting will not be released with Issue 22: Death Incarnate, but it will be within the I22 timeframe.

Ryan Moore: I know it means around the same time as I-22 but "around the same time" is the same as "soon" ... so I'm wondering if it will be a week or so after I-22 so bugs can be found with the new issue or will it be 2 months after I-22??

City of Heroes: "Within the I22 timeframe" means that it will be released during I22, but will not be out the day Issue 22 goes Live.

Editor's Note: Street Justice and Titan Weapons were both released, "Within the I21 timeframe". I21 went Live on September 27, and Street Justice went Live one week later, on October 4. Titan Weapons went Live on December 6, ten weeks after I21 went Live. Or, if you go by the I21 Headstart date of September 13, then it was 3 weeks later for Street Justice, and twelve weeks for Titan Weapons. I exepct Staff Fighting and Beast Mastery to follow the same pattern, with Staff Fighting to show up ~3 weeks after I22 goes Live, and Beast Mastery ~6-8 weeks after (I21 goes Live).

City of Heroes: There are no plans for an energy whip power set, however if we ever did a whip power set it would likely use similar effects, rather than being a physically modeled whip.

City of Heroes: We're always looking for more ways we can provide QoL for our players. There isn't one specific thing that I can mention at this time, as it's an ongoing process and we have a lot in the works!

Ivan Turgenev: Right now, we have a small sampling of time travel with the Ouroboros/flashback system, and zone-wise, Cimerora. Is there any hope for an expansion to time travel scenarios? For instance, Paragon City in the 1930s, just as Statesman and Atlas and everyone else were starting their gigs?

City of Heroes: Time travel is a possibility if we have content to justify the creation of assets. Using your example of Paragon City in the 1930s, if you think about how Paragon City looked back then, it'd be completely different. The futuristic highrises of today wouldn't exist; you'd have brick and mortar buildings and probably a much more art deco Paragon City. That's a complete zone revamp, in terms of content creation, which is a massive undertaking. There would need to be sufficient content planned to justify the use of resources to build an all-new (or old, as it were) Paragon City in-game. So is it a possibility? Certainly. We'd just need enough compelling content to prompt creation of those assets.

Melissa Fabiano: Will the Gravity set be improved? It seems a tad empty. If not it would be great to see it as a Tank. Also, what about a water power set? we have just about everything else, it kind of surprised me that that wasn't in the works. It would be great for doms, but also for the more melee side of things too.

Keith Kerbe: Any plans to add another targeted AoE enhancement set? PBAoE got eradication and obliteration! After the purple set, The only option worth anything is Posi's blast. Which has good set bonuses but poor total enhancement values.

City of Heroes: Nothing to report on that right now, but there's always the possibility of more enhancements.

Pete Vargas Mas: It would be great if there was in-game voice chat where our characters mouths would move when we speak. Similar to what There! did a few years back, where you could only hear a character talking if you were close enough.

City of Heroes: We currently aren't looking into implementing an in-game voice chat. As was mentioned in Wednesday's Ustream, there are many dedicated VOIP programs that do a great job of allowing players to communicate over mic.

Ray Sandhoff: Will we every be able to get (Even... buy?) additional animations for blast/assault powers that make them do something ...different? For instance, changing weapons from dual pistols to minigun in the same powerset, or a fire blast flame-thrower? I can not express the amount of pleasure I would have in using a freeze ray as my primary blaster powerset.

City of Heroes: I'm not sure how feasible it is to have a dual weapon-draw like that in a single Power Set. It may be possible, however there are currently no plans for that at this time.

Kurt Charbonnier: Is the ability to 'gift' Paragon Market items to other players being worked on?

I have a member of my SG who just came back to the game as a Premium player, and does not have the funds to subscribe or buy points. He is really only interested in an Invention license, and I would gladly shell out the points o help him out.

City of Heroes: Gifting items or Paragon Points to other players is definitely something we would like to do, however there are a lot of customer service concerns associated with it. If we ever allowed gifting, we want to make sure it's done right, both functionally and with our players' security in mind.

City of Heroes: I believe the SG name gets freed, but I will have to double check on that to be sure. Good question!

Shawn Wood: when I22 is released will we still be able to get the dark astoria exploration badges and the badge for killing adamaster?

City of Heroes: You'll be able to get the exploration badges in the echo. Adamaster will still award a badge; you can summon him in Talos and Sharkhead.

Emma Stapleton: Would it ever be possible to use the 'fading to sepia' tech that currently happens at the beginning and end of an Ouroboros flashback mission, in an AE arc, to give it a sepia or black and white film noir kind of feel?
