City of Heroes won't download! Please help!

So I want to play City Of Heroes but when I download the game launcher and open the down loader to download it. It goes to 2% and than I get an error message saying, "The server returned an error response: 403 = Forbidden. Aborting."

Then it shuts down and won't continue downloading. Please help I can't figure out what the problem is. Please and thank you!

When you say the you are downloading the "Game Launcher" are you refering to the CoH Game Launcher or the NCSoft Game Launcher? I used to use the CoH Game Launcher, however it quit working a while back and I had to start using the NCSoft Game Launcher. Also try checking your firewall settings to see if you might inadvertently be blocking the download.

hmm idk how to describe it, Im able to download the exe. file but thats it. when I open that it doesnt download from there. if that makes sense. And I tried it with my firewall off and it didnt work. Any other suggestions? Thanks though!

Miranda, which one of these images does your downloader look most like?

NCSOFT LAUNCHER:

(If it looks like the second one, then you're running the WRONG INSTALLER. That version hasn't worked since the summer.)

Chad is pro. He did exactly what I wanted to do, but was unable to. Chances are you are using the CoH Launcher. Try downloading the NC Soft Launcher. The only reason I even knew the difference was due to the fact that I had Lineage and Guild Wars, so I used the one launcher for them all. Hope you get it up and running.

ok maybe this will be a little easier

first i open the .exe file and press run and than this comes up

than if i press yes or no this comes up

than it gets stuck at 2% and says this

and it wont continue the download...i hope this help because i really want to play, thanks!

Download the file to your desktop instead of your temp folder.

If you're on Windows Vista or Win 7, right click on the installer and choose "Run as Administrator," just to be safe. (If you're on XP, then just double-clicking should be enough.)
