CoH 2 instances

No body seems to have an answer for my question.

How do I run 2 boxes of COH on a Mac. I did it last night randomly, but now I can't do it. So can I have a good response please?

Thank you.

What does not work:

Duplicating/renaming
Changing download place (I can't edit it)

I don't know if the Mac launcher is any different from the Windows one. It may be. But it's an option in the NC Launcher for me on Windows.

In the launcher you go to File->Settings->Advanced, and check the box to allow multiple instances of a game to be launched. I hope that helps, but I'm unfamiliar with the Mac client :/

That also doesn't work. There's no advance options

I'm not on a Mac since I prefer using real computers (OH NO HE DIDN'T!), but I've done it somewhat randomly as well. Usually happens during an update: After an update, that "CoH now needs to verify all files" or somesuch box pops up. If I didn't notice that box is waiting for me to click "Ok", I sometimes click the "Play Now" button when I see that the update is done and the game still launches. Later, clicking the "Ok" button launches the game a second time.

My daughter has also managed to get two instances to run at once despite the "run multiple instances" being turned off. It's likely due to insanely fast clicking of buttons, as she's six and if she doesn't click the buttons at 10,000x per second, they just might not get the point.

It appears that the "run only one instance" option can be fooled if you launch a second instance before the first fully loads.

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

I always have NC Soft Launcher close when launching CoH. (IT DRAINS SO MUCH OF MY COMPUTER, ALWAYS KEEPING THE CPU BUSY AT AROUND 35%) When you reopen the NCSoft Launcher, you can open another instance of CoH with no problem.

Short answer: Close NCSoft Launcher, reopen, launch a second instance of CoH.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I do not have the Run Multiple Instances box checked on File->Settings->Advanced, yet I am able to run multiple instances this way:

I play in Windows mode and have the NCLauncher set to close when the game launches (or you can just close it manually). Once the first instance is up and running, I just minimize it and run the NCLauncher again.

(Edit: I'm not sure this needs to be said, but I'll say it anyway: the second instance needs to be on a different account.)
