Titan/Regen - Why Don't People Like It?

I wanted to try a TW character and have also been wanting to try Regen on a brute so decided to put the two together. I've been reading a fair amount about people who don't like the combo without going into the reasons why.

I get the clicky nature of Regen and that it doesn't mesh with TW - but then it doesn't mesh with any weapon set because of this.

In looking at TW it seems to fit well with Regen for a couple of key reasons:

- The AoE knockdown helps the survivability of Regen by letting Regen's regen kick in while mobs are on the floor.

- The melee defense in Defensive Sweep gives Regen the ability to softcap melee and smashing. This means that a TW/Regen can hit MoG, jump into a big group, and well before it wears off he's sitting at capped melee/smashing and the minions likely dead. At this point a Regen can easily out-heal what the bosses and lts can put out.

Am I missing something that turns the combo into a "fail"?

Current:
Fridgerato - Traps/Ice (Frdm)
Gadgetron - Grav/TA (Lbrty)

Yes, that is true.

Not to say it's unplayable, mind you - for example, as Werner has long since proven, Katana pairs well with Regen, partly thanks to defense from Divine Avalanche. But hypothetically, a non-weapon set that was otherwise identical would pair even better.

I haven't played TW/Regen, or any /Regen much at all for that matter, but being locked into a long non-Momentum animation when you need to heal seems potentially risky. On the other hand, you're totally right that the multiple AoE knockdowns should be great.

I agree with you - ppl just think they have to squeeze every second from Momentum (like it was so hard to obtain again) and some have the impression the set is slow but the most used attacks to gain Momentum only have a 2 sec-2.2 sec cast time.

Not to mention that you can use Build Momentum to give a short burst of 'whoop butt' time.

I have a lvl 33 Tw/regen and i love him. I haven't even put io's into him yet and he can survive a lot more than a couple of non regen brutes and tanks that i've teamed with.
