Okay So I'm ready to pass out right now. I've been working on this SINGLE demo edit for approx 11 hours straight. I've pretty much made it from scratch, except for the camera work.

I need help because I can't figure out a few things, no matter what I keep editing, deleting, moving, etc.

The things I need help on are:

1. I can't get all the crowds of people to show up. I can tell some of crowd1 shows up but none of crowd2 or 3.

2. You can see two swat vans smashed into each other. I'm trying to get rid of the one that is FACING the wall. Not the one with its back to the wall.

3. The farthest away swat van that is on street level, I want to get more onto the street.

4. There should be an office or chief on the wall to the right doing wave emotes but he won't show up either.



Please, someone, anyone, HELP! I need to get this shot done for my comic book. Even after I get this demo done, I have to find the best angle for the comic page and then find someone to photoshop those trucks and stuff into fire trucks and some swat vans into ambulances. But first thing is first, I can't even get the damn demo working.

I can't look at the darn demo code anymore without destroying my computer so I'm hoping someone can help me here or at the very least tell me what I'm missing.

Looking at this, I can see why your head hurts. MINE hurts and I've only been looking at it for half an hour. I had no idea you wanted help with something this complicated.

Re: crowd. Where is your "player" object oriented? If it's too far away, the crowd might not spawn that far.

Re: SWAT vans. Change EACH van into something different - like one is an obelisk, one's a pile of dirt, one's this, one's that. You'll know immediately which van is the one that then needs to be deleted.

Re: moving objects. If you know that van's coordinates, go back in-game, GO to those coordinates, then stand more where you want the van to be. Swap in the new coordinates.

Re: the cop waving - THAT one I can probably tell you - you had 3 MOV commands for the same guy. However, by the time you finished moving the camera around, I couldn't tell if he'd waved or not.

The crowd is right at the bottom of the screen on both sides of the sidewalk. They should be the closest things.

That's a good idea with the vans, I'll try that.

The cop waving doesn't even appear in the demo. He is supposed to be on the wall on the right. He has the same problem as the crowd people of 2 and 3.

He is on the wall. He just doesn't wave.

The player is flying around with the camera.

I was able to fix the swat van mess with your advance. ty.

For the guy on the wall, he sometimes doesnt show up. I'm not too concerned with him at the moment.

The main thing I need now is crowd 2 and crowd 3.

Crowd 2 is on the bottom left corner of the shot when it first starts. Crowd 3 is on the bottom right.

They are both at the bottom of the screen.

They are the main thing I need to figure out now.

I found your problem, Sin. Your "PLAYER" tag was attached to the cop car back here:

The game engine only renders objects with in such a distance of the PLAYER designated entry. I think it's about 50 feet or so but I don't know that for a fact. Regardless, the crowds were out side of that range and thus were not rendering.

I took the POS and PYR data for the camera, copied it and applied it to a new entry named CAMERA that uses the PUDDLE NPC and then designated that as the PLAYER entity. That way the PLAYER is in the exact same location as the camera.

So the crowds are now with in distance of the PLAYER and render:
