So i just found out that CoH went F2P a few days ago and I was SUPER excited because i used to play when it was released, then had to quit because school and work etc. anyways So i downloaded the client and ran it but i get this weird graphics error/glitch thing. Basically when I'm in character creation the character is displayed as ONE block of color, I made a character anyways and looked again INGAME, the character is STILL that one block.

heres a screenshot.

also here are my CoHHelper information (followed the sticky guide) and yes I know my graphics card is...out of date to say the least, dont laugh :X regardless I just updated my graphics card drivers a minute ago via the nvidia website. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

You've got a video card with 256MB of RAM.
Most of your settings look to be "Recommended" with some tweaks.
First, try turning Ambient Occlusion to "OFF"
If that doesn't help, drop the Graphics Quality slider back to "Performance".

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Okay so I followed your instructions, and Ambient Occlusion was automatically off, so I didnt bother with changing that. So i Slid the graphics quality bar to "performance" and it reloaded the game, but now the enviorment is fine, but the character still wont show up. the only way i can get the character to show up is if I put it on the LOWEST GRAPHIC SETTING, and i know my video card can at least handle a little bit more that the lowest one. =_= I've played games like Aion and Skyrim on my computer without any major problems so I dont understand what the deal is :/

COH is rendered in opengl and as a result is more reliant on video card capablilties. Try turning down these too,

World Texture Level: Very High
Character Texture Level: Very High

There was someone else who was having issues with toons not showing up, and I think one of the program game files was corrupt, and had to be deleted, and "fixed".

"You might try the search to see if that was the case, and if it may be your problem as well."

Well, looked up that problem myself, and it didn't seem to be related to your situation. So if turning down graphics, or running the game in "safe mode" doesn't help, I'm out of suggestions.

Not wanting to rain on your parade, but your own experimental evidence suggests otherwise. CoH is way WAY more demanding on the video card than most other MMO's. If everything looks fine at the lowest graphics setting, but not anything higher, that definitely suggests your video card simply can't handle higher settings.
