Ice/Ice permadom build

Has anyone seen any good builds, even if it is not for permadom? I never see ice/ice dominators when I play at all ever.

I have a very old Ice/Ice at level 46 that I tried out again last night and he is a massive end hog.

A build would be great, if anyone has anything regarding this combo, or other tips/comments on the combo.

Whatever works well - I would love any honest input.

I've got an Elec/Ice skeleton that can more or less translate across, but the build would be coming from someone with almost no direct experience playing Ice/. Interested?

Now first let me tell you I have never leveled a Ice/Ice Dom to 50. I tried to about 2 years ago and I ended up just being frustrated due to Aggro and End problems. Fast forward to now I feel more experienced with Ice and /Ice. I have a lvl 50 Ice/Psi and a lvl 31 Elec/Ice Dom and I have played around in BETA quite a bit with Ice...so without further ado...

I love chilling embrace but I think for a Pre-50 Ice/Ice dom it's not really needed due to so many slows/-recharge embedded within your powers. Also Chilling Embrace drains a lot of end...and I personally would not run CE and AA until I took either Cardiac or Ageless. Please don't take this build seriously it's a very rough idea of what I would do for my Pre-50 build. I think an Ice/Ice dom's biggest issue would be inflicting dmg and dealing with aggro so for a ice/ice 50 I would go Spiritual and Ageless. I would want the most recharge as possible so you can push out Ice slick, Shiver and jump into Melee to keep AA and CE running while you Spam Ice Sword Circle.

I forgot to slot Power Boost with Recharge. I would have Power Boost on auto lol, I wish you could perma it. I've been obsessed with Regen and Recovery lately and I think with this toon the Recovery really helps, especially before the end game.

I tried to shoot for all the cheap Purples and also Lotg to make things more affordable for you.

I will post my Post 50 build when I get a chance.

I hope this helps!

Ice/Ice is interesting...it seems the most I could possible do is build for Ranged Defense....that will not do because an Ice/Ice is VERY melee orianted...so with this toon I would focus more on Recharge so you can use "Offensive mez defense" lol.

This is my old build for my Ice/Ice/Ice made right after Vils got access to APPs. It's lost it's play time to my Ice/Earth/Ice.

How to build varies with how you want to play. This version you can do a couple different things with depending on how you want to play.

I don't have power boost in this build. You can replace Shiver with Power Boost if you want to and switch the Kinetic Combats + HO nuc out of Ice Sword and Ice Slash for 5 pieces of Crushing Impact if you want more recharge.

Power Boost isn't all that helpful with the Ice/ primary. It really only helps with Glacier and you still can't perma it. (It helps with Flash Freeze too but on a team it doesn't matter and solo you'll use it mainly on adds.) What you can use power boost for is to boost the defense provided by Frozen Armor, Weave and Combat Jumping and use it as a kind of mini-MoG to splash the Alpha.

Ice/ Play style:

I open with Ice Slick. 2 rech enhancers and 2 range enhancers make it perma and allows you to cast it outside of mob perception range. Range + stealth combined allow you to mitigate the Alpha to a large extent. Your S/L defense (which doesn't HAVE to be soft capped with the Ice Slick opener) should splash most of any thing else that does get launched.

Move into close range and allow Arctic Air to take hold, while you are doing this cast Shiver. Shiver + AA will floor the spawn's recharge. (If you went the Power Boost route you'll want to have popped PB before casting Ice Slick to soft cap your defenses).

Kill stuff.

I skipped Frost Breath because it's a cone and you'll want to spend most of your time in Melee range. If you take Frost Breath you'll use it after Shiver and no other time because the cone is too narrow to be useful in melee/close range and jumping back out of melee to use it will allow mobs in the back of the spawn to be out of the area of effect of AA.

Ice block will be your Boss tool with Perma dom. You can use it on a lieutenant but it will one shot hold a boss and that's the best use.

Glacier is a melee range PBAoE panic button, if that fails, Phase Shift is your back up. Flash Freeze lets you handle adds and those mobs that are immune to sleeps can still be placated by the proc.

I skipped Jack since his damage contribution is minimal when you have an assault secondary and I dislike the extra aggro he can draw when 2 or more spawns are too close together.

Everyone always seems to want to open with Ice Slick. My main is an Ice/Ice Dom and I've always opened with Arctic Air running, power boost, jump in and lay down glacier, apply a second hold to any bosses in the area, lay down ice slick, and take down the LT's as quick as possible. Arctic Air should confuse any minions and probably a good portion of the LT's as well if you have Contagious Confusion slotted. The more enemies you have in your Arctic Air with Contagious Confusion slotted, the more likely you are to have a steady stream of confusion to assist with crowd control. If your damage is worth anything, you and Jack should take down the LT's fairly easily. The minions are up next. Should you feel the need to do so, reapply a hold to bosses to ensure they stay well-behaved until you're ready to deal with them. Hope this helps a little.

I mainly took power boost b/c at post lvl 50 it extends the confuse on AA but I can understand skipping it. Of course my Elec/Ice Dom loves Power Boost.

If you're slotting for recharge, it's actually up fairly often. About 1 out of every 2 mobs.

And I totally agree on taking power boost, definitely makes a difference I believe.

I was wondering, would this be a good farming character? It seems Ice Slick is awesome for farming to avoid getting hit, and Ice Sword Circle would take care of the minions pretty easily, especially with a bit of perma-loving going. I used to do this back in the Ice/Fire Tanker FotM days, and it seemed to work very well.

Just curious, as it seems like a great combo set. Any input on this?
