Crab Spider Build Critique

The main thing I would say is... Crab Spiders are quite easy to soft cap and there is no need for a Gladiator's Armor +3% Defense IO! You could build several very good characters for the cost of that thing, and it's not needed.
If you switch Tough and Fortification to 5-slotted Aegis it will take care of your AoE defense. If you do care about melee defense, I recommend using Shield Breaker in one of your filler attacks. (The easiest way to cap melee defense is to have melee attacks, since Obliteration and Touch of Death both boost melee defense.)
Other than that, I would say it should work fine for ranged AoE combat.
I took frenzy instead of frag grenade. Got rid of 3% PvP IO, softcapped melee/ranged, fraction of a % under aoe (I'll have barrier btw too). That should solve that. Still got high recharge, softcapped, perma everything. Seems beast!

Take Rebirth. It lets you use a massive heal that leaves a big boost to Regen afterwards. That will give you more performance than taking Barrier. I wouldn't worry about being just below the AoE softcap.

Made a build, seems pretty solid, but i'm open for any criticism!
Not to crazy about softcapping melee, as I will be at range most of the time, and barrier will fill any gaps.
