StJ/Will Softcap

I am looking for ideas for a Street Justice character (bought the set last night...) I have run SS Brutes for a long time, and could not find a Scrapper set I loved (I got issues, I despise redraw, I dont like certain graphics on other sets, etc.) So, I just had to see if this was gonna be my other melee set. When not on SS I tend to run Dark. I don't love the attacks, but I absolutely love the power synergies that can happen.

A few months ago I stripped a softcapped (to all but Psi I think) Tank. Will/SS. I never used the parts, they are sitting in a base. Would the build mostly just slap down on top of a Street Justice/Willpower and successfully softcap that?

Or is there another armor I should consider if I was going to softcap a Street Justice? Invulnerability I think is easier, plus had def debuff res, but I worry about End issues. (I would love to use Regen, but I suspect that is very very hard to softcap?)

Or should I go a completely different route and build a huge recharge build and make a Street Justice / Regen? I know a ton of Rech works very well for Regen. Truly, what set doesnt benefit from Rech? lol Does Rech work particularly well with Street Justice as well?

No, Tankers get higher Defense values out of the same powerset that Brutes/Scrappers/Stalkers get.

End issues can be overcome, and the +ToHit from Invuln would assist in earning Combo Points.

Oddly enough, thanks to some analysis earlier, Street Justice really doesn't care about MASSIVE recharge for a Spartan and DPA efficient chain. Also, I'd not roll Street Justice with Self-Empathy, since the need to hammer your heals will interfere with the Combo mechanic.

But, all Scrapper combinations are viable. So, play what you'd like!

Thanks Errant. Good insights. So recharge isnt going to help that much, and click heavy secondaries actually make things worse. So, that rules out Regen. For my concept that leaves Willpower and Invulnerability.

How end hungry is Street Justice? I am used to running Invul with Super Strength, and that can be challenging to keep going, especially with rage crashes.

I kind of want the ease of Willpower, and am leaning in that direction. Even if I can't softcap defense, I'm pretty sure a good amount of Defense will only help the whole thing. Also, may take the build in a different direction.

Ach, i just read Obitus' thread. I appreciate all the work. After my head stopped spinning and i followed the thread for some of my questions (asked, answered, re-asked, clarified, all by other posters thankfully) I have decided to quite definitely do a Street Justice / Willpower build with an emphasis on +def heading to softcap. The character concept is basically the Tank that was gonna be my main until I got so irritated at the Itrials I quit the game for months. This will be a good resurrection of the character.

Now, does anybody have a good build made up to softcap StJ/will or at least get close laying around.....?

Knock one out on your own, first, it'll be easier for the rest to tweak if we know what you like. Only real Skippable powers are the Rez and Strength of Will, and take what you want from Street Justice. Prioritize Enhancing your powers properly (don't slot RttC for ToHit DeBuff, e.g.), and use the set bonuses as icing. Grab Typed +Def, since you've gotten a boost in that regards from Heightened Senses, and you should have room/end for Tough/Weave. Focus on getting Smashing and Lethal as close to 45% as possible. If you've got the room to play around, go for Energy (which brings Negative Energy as well).

Finally, troll through both the Brute and Scrapper forums for build ideas. Main difference is Brute taunt is AoE, higher HP, and their Resistances cap at 90% vice a Scrapper's 75%.

Good luck.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

That looks real good. From my stripping of the tank I have 95% of these sitting in my storage base. Somewhere I used my 5th set of KC, but I can come up with another or find where i put it lol. thanks for posting this. Its a great starting point, should be able to light tank, and scrap like a wet cat.

Sure but who wants to eat fish all the time :P I would prefer a good slab of beef

*btw, I have thousands of builds saved by now. I just modified my Warmace/Will Power build I had in storage. Wasn't too difficult, and it gives a base to work on for Blue.
